As you explore Natlan in Genshin Impact Version 5.0, you may stumble across pieces of Shattered Night Jade. These rare Quest Items are locked behind specific Natlan World Quests and many players may wonder how many of them are and how to use them. If you manage to find all three pieces of Shattered Night Jade and combine them into a complete piece of Night Jade, you will unlock access to the Chamber of Night’s Trial, a secret location full of chests and free Primogems to earn.

Pieces of Shattered Night Jade

All Shattered Night Jade Locations in Genshin Impact Version 5.0

Shattered Night Jade 1 Location

The first piece of Shattered Night Jade is awarded for freeing the trapped Saurians in the Fatui Camp in Coatepec Mountain.

South of the Blazing Ruins Domain, there is a small ravine where the Fatui have set up shop in Natlan. If you push past the various Fatui Captains guarding the canyon and go deep underground, you’ll soon come across a small legion of trapped Saurains. You cannot open the cages directly and, instead, must venture into the Extraction Research Centre that the Fatui have set up in order to free them. In the process of exploring the Extraction Centre, you will free two Saurians in particular – a Yumkasaur and a Tepetlisaur. 

Once you free the Tepelisaur and the Yumkasaur and have completed the Relay Ball puzzles in the Extraction Centre, they will help you defeat the few remaining Fatui. When the final Fatui Captain falls, the Saurians will go their separate ways, freeing all of the trapped Saurians on their way, and a Luxurious Chest will spawn in the middle of the room. Opening this chest will give you Primogems, high-level upgrade materials and, most importantly, the first piece of Shattered Night Jade.

Shattered Night Jade 2 Location

The second bit of Shattered Night Jade in Genshin Impact is another quest reward, this time from the quest The Relic Left by the Sage, which is part of the Between Pledge and Forgettance World Quest chain. 

This quest chain is a bit trickier to unlock than most of the others. The first part of this quest is actually Lost in the Woods, the quest where you meet, and name, your Teptlisaur Whelp companion. After that, you need to travel to a small settlement south of the Children of Echoes Statue of the Seven, which does have a Teleport Waypoint. During your first visit to this area, Manqu, a man from the Children of Echoes and a member of the Saurian Relics Association, will approach you.

The next part of the quest won’t unlock until 24 hours of real-time have passed since your first meeting with Manqu. Once those 24 hours have passed, the Rite of the Bold quest will automatically unlock and go in your quest log. This will officially begin the Between Pledge and Forgettance World Quest chain. From here, simply follow the quest steps until you arrive at the Sacred Path Trial Ruins, an underground set of tunnels which you will need to navigate with your Tepetlisaur companion. 

At the end of this quest, you’ll teleport to a beautiful serene ocean landscape and there will be three chests in the surrounding area, one Luxurious and two Precious. One of those Precious Chests will award you the second piece of Shattered Night Jade.

Shattered Night Jade 3 Location

The last piece of Shattered Night Jade drops a chest at the end of the To the Night, What is the Night’s Quest. This is the Ancestral Temple quest, a notable location in Coatepec Mountain where a lot of secrets are hiding.

To start this quest, you need to complete three Yumkasaur-focused puzzles around the Ancestral Temple, all of which have to do with Relay Balls. Once you complete all three puzzles and go to unlock the Ancestral Temple ruins with the keys obtained from the puzzle chests, Legba, a warrior from the Scions of the Canopy, will approach you. This will officially begin To the Night, What is the Night’s. 

From here, simply go through the quest until you reach the end of the Abandoned Temple’s Sanctuary of Offerings. After another talk with Legba, the quest will finish and you’ll obtain the Offering to Nothingness Achievement. Additionally, a Precious Chest will spawn which contains the third and final piece of Shattered Night Jade.

How to Use the Night Jade in Genshin Impact Version 5.0

With all three pieces of the Shattered Night Jade in your inventory, they will automatically combine to create the completed Night Jade. This will unlock the Offering to Nothingness Achievement for an extra 5 Primogems. Now, you can use them to enter the Night Kingdom and complete the Night’s Trial. 

Around the Stadium of the Sacred Flame, there’s a shallow moat on the canyon floor made from water which flows in from Ameyalco Waters. If you go to where the water enters the canyon on the southern edge of the Stadium, you’ll find something quite odd. On the edge of the water, you’ll find a ring of shiny obsidian, similar in shape and composition to the tablets which take you to fight Natlan’s Local Legends. However, it’s missing that distinct central spire.

Interacting with this ring of rock allows you to insert the completed Night Jade into it, summoning a portal which connects to the Night Kingdom. Hopping into this portal will take you to the Chamber of Night’s Trial, a dark twisted version of the Stadium of the Sacred Flame. The most eye-catching thing about the Chamber of Night’s Trial is undoubtedly the treasure chests; around the arena, you’ll find three Exquisite Chests, one Precious Chest, and one Luxurious Chest, totalling over 45 Primogems. 

At the heart of the Chamber is a strange cat, the same one from the Sulfurous Veins World Quest. Talking to the cat will begin the aforementioned Night’s Trial where you must defeat 8 Tribal Warriors from the Night Kingdom in under one minute. Even though the enemies aren’t the toughest bunch, the sheer amount of them you need to defeat paired with the strict time limit makes this challenge especially tough, even for the best-built teams. 

Once you complete the Night’s Trial successfully, you’ll pass the test and be able to open all of the various chests around the room. You will also unlock the By Battle Be Settled Achievement… for another 5 Primogems. This is easily one of the most lucrative spots in all of Natlan.
