In this quick and easy guide for Genshin Impact 4.0, we'll show you exactly where to find all four of the new Fontaine Shrine of Depths and how to get the Shrine Keys necessary to open them. A new region means a new set of Shrines to unlock and Fontaine is no different, with a whole new set of Keys and Shrines to track down in the land of Hydro.

Genshin Impact | All Fontaine Shrine of Depths Locations

Update 4.0 of Genshin Impact brought with it a brand new explorable region in the form of Fontaine, the Nation of Justice and the land of the Hydro Archon. As one may expect from a region associated with the God of water, a ton of secrets and oddities have been lost beneath Fontaine’s waves or have washed up on its beaches, ripe for the picking from a plucky set of Travelers. One such set of secrets returns from previous Genshin regions for another bout with players, asking them to locate special keys so that they may obtain rich rewards: Of course, I’m referring to a new set of Shrine of Depths.

Shrine of Depths in Genshin are small structures hidden around each of Teyvat’s major regions. If you find the key associated with that region’s Shrine, you can open the little mausoleums and claim the Luxurious Chest which lies within, netting you 40 Primogems and a ton of useful resources per Shrine. These areas are extremely lucrative and the Fontaine Shrine of Depths are no different, making them all a priority for any seasoned adventurer.

Here’s where you can find all four Fontaine Shrine of Depths in Genshin Impact 4.0.

How to Get Fontaine Shrine of Depths Keys in Genshin Impact

Before you can open the Fontaine Shrine of Depths in Genshin, you’ll first need to find a way to open them. Like all of the other regional Shrines, the Fontaine Shrines require matching Fontaine Shrine Keys to unlock them: if you don’t have a key, the Shrines will remain closed off to you, even if you’re able to find them out in the wild. Aside from the name, Fontaine Shrine Keys can be differentiated by their colour, with Fontaine Shrines and Keys being a cool ocean blue to match the element of Hydro.

In Genshin Impact Version 4.0, there are two methods for obtaining Fontaine Shrine of Depths Keys, with both methods awarding the player two keys each. These methods are the Statue of the Seven and the Fountain of Lucine.

The first method is to level up the Fontaine Statue of the Seven, which depicts the current Hydro Archon, Furina. To do this, you’ll need to collect the required amount of Hydroculi from around Fontaine’s various regions. You’ll be given the Fontaine Shrine of Depths Keys as rewards for reaching Statue Ranks 2 and 4, which means you’ll have to find the majority of Fontaine’s currently available Hydroculi (there are 85 currently in-game) to net them both.

Meanwhile, the second method of earning Fontaine Shrine Keys is to invest in the Fountain of Lucine. This is Fontaine’s equivalent to the Sacred Sakura tree in Inazuma or Tree of Dreams in Sumeru, essentially a place where you can spend the Hydro Sigils you’ve found through exploring Fontaine. The Fountain of Lucine will only become available once you beat Act 1 of the Fontaine Archon Quest (which is Chapter IV) and, to get yourself the two available Shrine Keys, you’ll need to earn enough Hydro Sigils to reach Fountain Level 8 and Fountain Level 18.

As more areas and regions get added to Fontaine over the coming Versions and patches, more Shrine of Depths will inevitably begin to dot the landscape. That means more methods for acquiring Shrine Keys. As such, it’s worth mentioning that any Fontaine Shrine Keys you obtain will work for any Fontaine Shrines, even those that join Genshin Impact later down the line.

Fontaine Shrine of Depths Locations

Shrine 1 Location

The first new Fontaine Shrine of Depths is in the Beryl Region of Fontaine. This area is the largest island currently available in the nation of Fontaine and it will likely be one of the first places you explore, seeing as it is located very close to where you first enter the nation via the elevator from Sumeru.

Your prize is in the Northern reaches of the Beryl Region, specifically on the North-Western side of the island. Starting at the Beryl Statue of the Seven, begin making your way to the western front using the main path which diverges from the Statue. You’ll know you’re heading the right way once you pass an Ouisa orb on the top of a pine tree, which is also surrounded by two Pyro Hilichurls. This entire path is covered in Hilichurls so just follow them if you need a bit of guidance.

Eventually, you’ll reach a desolate space of land populated by a few Rift Hounds. This is one of a few Beastly Rifts in the Beryl Region and you can either purge it to get some rewards or simply ignore it: just seeing it lets you know you’re on the right path. Continue heading to the west via the main path until you see them diverge once more. At this point, continue following the path northward

Keep on that path while also keeping your open for the cliff edges on the right. Eventually, you’ll soon see the first Fontaine Shrine of Depths emerge.

Shrine 2 Location

For our second Fontaine Shrine, we’ll be heading deep below the waves for our very first underwater Shrine. To make sure you’re in the right area, head to the stretch of ocean separating the Beryl and Belleau Regions.

When you’re ready, dive into the water and head for the Elton Trench. Inside the Elton Trench are two Teleport Waypoints across from one another and, to succinctly get to the submerged Shrine, you want to make sure you don’t go past the northmost Teleport Waypoint.

From the southmost Teleport Waypoint, begin making your way North but also start diving deeper as you do so. As you come up close to the second Waypoint, keep your eye on the deep ocean floor: soon enough, the second Shrine of Depths should make itself obvious to you.

Shrine 3 Location

The third Fontaine Shrine of Depths in Genshin Impact is located in the Court of Fonatine Region. To be more specific, you’ll find it on the stretch of land which also contains the actual Court of Fontaine city.

Starting at the Court of Fontaine Statue of the Seven, exit the city to the north where you can find an abandoned Aquabus Line. From here, you either have the safer and simpler choice of following the Aquabus line until it breaks off, which will take you directly before a Teleport Waypoint, or you can jump off the edge and strike out into the rocky hills to the East.

Either way, your goal is on top of a cliff overlooking the beach to the East of the island. From the Waypoint at the end of the Aquabus Line, all you need to do is take a leisurely stroll over and the Shrine is yours

Shrine 4 Location

Finally, our last Fontaine Shrine of Depths for Genshin Impact 4.0 is also located in the Court of Fontaine Region. However, instead of being located on the main Court of Fontaine island, you’ll find this one on the island where the Fountain of Lucine is located. To get here, you can swim or take a boat but, for our purposes, it is easier if you take the Aquabus Line from the Court of Fontaine to Marcotte Station.

Once you reach the Station and activate the nearby Teleport Waypoint, abandon civilisation entirely and start hiking your way north through the lush mountains of Fontaine. There’s a small hidden pathway that you can take through the mountains, which also takes you past some points of interest containing Mekas to fight and chests to loot.

After passing by one of Fontaine’s many relay towers, you’ll find yourself closer to the shore. Keep following the hidden path past the relay and past the Mekas who guard it and you’ll soon stumble across the Shrine of Depths, covertly sequestered deep in the mountain range.

That was where to easily find all 4 Fontaine Shrine of Depths in Genshin Impact 4.0.
