Sumeru’s vast desert has received another expansion in Genshin Impact Version 3.6 titled The Girdle of the Sands. This area feels completely distinct from the other areas of the Sumeru desert, forgoing the desolate ruins and underground temples for relics of Khaenri’ah and the Abyss from 500 years ago. There are plenty of secrets to unearth and places to explore, and you’ll even encounter some strange new companions in the form of the Pari.
Some of these Pari will award you treasures like Primogems and chests if you manage to complete a certain task for them. A couple of the Residual Pari, in particular, want you to find an elusive plant known as the Udumbara Pistil and bring it back to them. These Udumbara flowers are very rare and can be hard to find, but the rewards are well worth the effort.

How to Use Udumbara Pistil
Udumbara Pistil is a special kind of plant in Genshin Impact. They can only be found in one area of the Girdle and there are very few to collect. They’re not like normal plants, either, as they need the power of Sorush, your Pari partner, to awaken them.
The main reason to collect Udumbara is that two specific Pari require them before they can return to the Vourukasha Oasis. Around the Girlde are several Fravashi Trees containing the spirits of lost Pari, each of which asks you to do a certain task before they will return home to the Oasis. Two of these Pari each ask for three Udumbara Pistil each.
The location of these Pari and their Fravashi Trees can be found on the map below. One can be found directly next to the large Dendro seed in the Asipattravana Swamp, whereas the other can be found in the depths of a cave.

Once you have located the Residual Pari trapped within the Fravashi Trees, you can use the Sorush gadget to awaken them. As we previously stated, these Pari each ask for three Udumbara Pistil to return home, with each rewarding you an Exquisite Chest for your troubles.
Finding all 6 Udumbara can be a bit tricky, but the rewards are well worth it. Aside from the chests, sending these two Pari home is required to complete the Pale Fire World Quest, which awards a staggering 60 Primo upon completion. Additionally, each Pari will give you a Plume of Purifying Light which can be used to upgrade the Amrita Pool and earn various rewards.

All Udumbara Pistil Locations
In total, there are 6 Udumbara Pistil to collect in Genshin Impact, 3 for each Pari Spirit. All 6 are in the Asipattravana Swamp area of the Realm of Farakhkert.
You need to be on the lookout for green heart symbols etched into the walls of the Swamp, as these signify where the Udumbara can be found. Once you’ve found them, hold Sorush’s interact skill within proximity to the heart. This will cause the flower to bloom and allow you to pick up the Udumbara by standing on top of it. Sometimes you’ll need the aid of a nearby Four-Leaf Sigil or you can simply climb to the top.

The first Udumbara can be found far away from all of the others. It’s nestled into a small nook on the cliffside and is usually hidden from view.
The easiest way to get to it is to head to the Teleport Wapoint to the west of the Udumbara. From here, you can simply walk off the ledge in the direction of the Swamp. You should spy three Fungi huddled around a nearby wall: they are gathered around the Udumbara Pistil you need. Beat the Fungi and you can send Sorush to spawn the Udumbara.

The second Udumbara is found up high, on a small cliff surrounded by giant thorny branches.
From the first Udumbara heart, turn around and you should be able to spot the second Udumbara off in the distance. Walk over to the ledge and you can use the Four-Leaf Sigils to make it over to the other side and claim your prize.

To get to the third Udumbara Pistil, go to the Teleport Waypoint south of the Hills of Barsom. Once you’re there, turn towards the Swamp and then jump off the ledge to the platform beneath.
Upon landing safely, look up and you should see the third Udumbara waiting for you. The easiest way to obtain this one is to use Sorush’s interact Skill to move the nearby special red Four-Leaf Sigil on top of the Udumbara before awakening the plant itself.

The fourth and fifth Udumbara are very close to each other. Starting with the fourth one, it’s located on a cliff above one of the new Horned Crocodile enemies.
Head to the Teleport Waypoint found in the Asipattravana Swamp itself. After using Sorush’s Skill on the heart, you can use the nearby path of Four-Leaf Sigils to go straight over to the Udumbara.

The fifth Udumbara is located directly next to the fourth one. In fact, it’s right next to the Teleport Waypoint we used previously.
From the Waypoint, look right and you’ll see a small mound with the Udumbara heart etched on the side. Getting this one is as simple as using Sorush and then climbing to the top of the mound to gather the plant.

To get the final Udumbara, head to the Waypoint on the bridge to the East of the Swamp. The heart is below on a cliff ledge being overlooked by a lone Hilichurl.
By teleporting to the bridge, you can simply walk over and then jump on top of the ledge containing the Hilichurl and the Udumbara. Then, just use Sorush and the last Udumbara will be yours.
