Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: How To Romance Aerith

This guide will show you how to ensure that you take Aerith out on a date during your visist to the Gold Saucer during Chapter 12. To ensure that Aerith is the one that shows up to your hotel door, you have to perform specific tasks, such as choosing the appropriate dialogue options when prompted, completing select side quests, and making sure they have matching beach clothes in Costa Del Sol.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: How To Romance Aerith

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth gives you the opportunity to go on a date with one of your party members. To make sure Aerith and Cloud get together, you have to make a specific set of in-game choices in terms of what dialogue you choose, what side quests you take on, and even what kind of clothes you wear. Previously, we discussed the easiest way to guarantee that Tifa becomes your date during your trip to the Gold Saucer in Chapter 12. In this guide, we’ll discuss the steps you need to take to ensure that you romance Aerith.

At first glance, it seems like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is keen on pushing Cloud and Tifa together as the game offers players more ways to raise Cloud’s standing with Tifa than anyone else. However, the game provides plenty of options for Aerith too – and many of them cross paths with that of Tifa. In Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, each member of your party has a “bonds of friendship” meter, informing you of their attitude towards Cloud. When the time comes to go on a date in Chapter 12, the person Cloud is connected to the strongest will show up at his hotel door and ask him out on a date that includes riding the Gold Saucer’s couple’s sky wheel. Some actions will raise Cloud’s standing with multiple characters at the same time.

In summary, here are the exact actions you must take to guarantee that everything goes smoothly:

  • Make six specific dialogue choices when prompted during conversations with Aerith.
  • Complete seven select side quests.
  • Pick matching swimsuits for Cloud and Aerith during your visit to Costa Del Sol.
  • Choose to help Aerith and Barret in combat during the invasion of Costa Del Sol.
  • Keep Aerith in your party as much as possible and use synergy abilities while in combat.
  • Like Tifa, get a score of over 100,000 in the Junon Parade as the 7th Infantry’s leader.
  • During the “Loveless” play, choose Aerith when prompted.

If done correctly, you’ll earn a date with Aerith that ultimately ends on the Gold Saucer’s couple’s sky wheel.

Side Quests That Will Help You Romance Aerith

Taking on the following side quests, which feature storylines that involve Aerith, will boost her attitude toward Cloud, bringing them closer together. Those side missions are:

  • “Flowers From the Hill” in the Kalm (Grasslands) region during Chapter 2.
  • “Stuck in a Rut” in the Junon region during Chapter 4.
  • “Rendezvous in Costa Del Sol” in Costa Del Sol during Chapter 7.
  • “The Spice of Life” in the Gongaga region during Chapter 9.
  • “Absence of a Sign” in the Cosmo Canyon during Chapter 10.
  • “Beneath Still Waters” in the Junon region during Chapter 12.
  • “Woodland Vigil” in the Gongaga region during Chapter 12.

To unlock “The Spice of Life” you first must complete the “Teach Me, Great Warrior” side quest, and to unlock “Beneath Still Waters,” you have to finish the “Tides of War and Worry” side mission. Furthermore, to be able to go on the “Absence of a Sign” mission, which is available on the Cosmo Canyon job board, you first have to complete “Uninvited Guests” while unlocking the “Woodland Vigil” mission you need finish both “The Spice of Life” and “Escape From Endless Writer’s Block.”

Marching in the Junon Parade

As mentioned in the previous romancing guide, earning at least 100,000 points as the leader of Infantry 7 during Rufus’ parade in Junon will earn you points with both Aerith and Tifa. To pull this off, you need to master the timing mini-game, which can be a bit tricky. However, it’s a simple way to get Aerith to boost her attitude towards you. A perfect performance is depicted in the picture below.

Dialogue Trees That Will Help You Romance Aerith

There are six points in the game where what conversational prompts you choose will score you big points with your favorite flower girl. These tend to happen after key storyline cutscenes in the game, and Cloud is usually prompted to wander around and talk to his party mates. Make sure to always speak to Aerith. The correct responses to the prompts are:

  • During Chapter 2, in Kalm, Aerith will ask Cloud “Wanna climb the clock tower together?” The strongest response is “Sure, let’s.”
  • During Chapter 4, in Junon, Aerith will ask Cloud “Do you remember the first time we met?” The proper response is “You shoved a flower in my face.”
  • During Chapter 6, in Costa Del Sol, Aerith will state to Cloud “I start thinking things so dark and ugly that it scares me” The proper response is “They’re just thoughts.”
  • During Chapter 9, in Gongaga, Aerith will ask Cloud “Pretty selfish, huh? Waltzing in there, stirring up memories” The proper response is “They didn’t seem to mind.”
  • During Chapter 10, in Cosmo Canyon, Aerith will ask Cloud “What will you do?” You should pick “Encourage her.”
  • During Chapter 11, in Nibleheim, Aerith will ask Cloud “You never came up here hoping she’d wave?” You should pick “Sounds like something I’d do.”
  • During the Loveless play, when prompted by Cait Sith as to who your heart desires, choose Rosa (Aerith).

Costa Del Sol

Matching Swimsuits

To reach a major story point, you have to get to the beach in Costa Del Sol. However, you won’t be allowed on the beach unless you have the proper outfit. To obtain the proper clothes requires spending Companion Cards, which can be earned via the various mini-games scattered throughout Costa Del Sol. For this one, you just have to make sure Cloud and Aerith have matching swimsuits. If you choose the Ocean Chocobo outfit for Cloud, then you must obtain the Floral Delight swimsuit for Aerith. However, if you give Cloud the Wild Surf swimsuit, then Aerith needs to be dressed in the Pink Mermaid outfit.

Having matching beachwear will deepen your bond.

Invasion

This one’s handed to you on a silver platter – and it’s worth major bonds of friendship points. At some point, Hojo’s creatures will attack Costa Del Sol and it will be up to the party to save the day. All you have to do is choose to help Aerith and Barret in combat instead of Tifa and Red XIII and you’ll greatly raise your standing with Aerith.

Combat Synergy Will Help You Romance Aerith

This one’s nice and straightforward: make sure to use Aerith in your party often and use every synergy skill available with her at least once. This will build rapport between Aerith and Cloud and goes a long way in making her like you. The synergy skills and abilities you can use together are:

  • Combat Savior
  • Bodyguard
  • Firework Blade
  • United Refocus

Here is a video of Aerith and Cloud doing Firework Blade together:

The Date

If done properly, Aerith will show up to Cloud’s hotel room at night and ask him out on a date that ends with a romantic moment between the two on the couple’s skywheel. Enjoy!
