Destiny 2: The Final Shape | How to Unlock All of Prismatic (All Fragments, Aspects, Abilities)

Here's how to unlock all abilities, Aspects, and Fragments for the new Prismatic subclass in Destiny 2: The Final Shape. When you finish the final mission in The Final Shape campaign, you'll only have access to about half of your Prismatic subclass, while all of the other abilities and Fragments you're missing are hidden across the Pale Heart.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape | How to Unlock All of Prismatic (All Fragments, Aspects, Abilities)Prismatic is the shiny new subclass all Guardians will get access to when they step into the Pale Heart of the Traveler during the Destiny 2: The Final Shape campaign. As the harmonious fusion between the Light and the Dark, Prismatic offers some of the most diverse and intricate build crafting possibilities we’ve ever seen in Destiny: whether it’s constant Devour Bleak Watchers on Warlock or three back-to-back Consecrations on Titan, there’s so much untapped potential in Prismatic.

However, at the end of the campaign, you’ll only have access to about half of what Prismatic has to offer. Once you beat Iconoclast and gain access to the Pale Heart as a patrol zone, all Guardians can pick up two new Supers, two new Aspects, some new Light and Dark abilities, and a whole batch of new Fragments which will completely change how you play. The Fragments, in particular, are hidden all over the Pale Heart, so we’re here to give you a hand.

How to Unlock All Prismatic Abilities and Aspects

Once you complete The Final Shape campaign (the Iconoclast Mission), you’ll be given the Destined Heroes Exotic Quest which eventually unlocks the Ergo Sum Exotic Sword. As part of this questline, two of your main objectives are to complete the Lost in the Light and Found in the Darkness Quests, which are given out by Ghost in the Lost Tower.

These two quests are how you unlock the remainder of your Light and Darkness abilities for your Prismatic subclass. The Lost in Light quests have you venture back into The Refraction, whereas Found in Darkness wishes you to return to The Seclusion. Both of these quests are vital and should be on top of your priority list once you complete the campaign.

For example, for Prismatic Warlocks, completing all three steps in Lost in the Light awards them with the Storm Grenade, Lightning Surge Aspect, and Stormcaller Super. Meanwhile, completing all three steps of Found in Darkness instead grants them access to the Arcane Needle Melee, the Weaver’s Call Aspect, and the Needlestorm Super. The same logic applies to both Titans and Hunters, only they’ll have different Light and Dark abilities to unlock.

Campaign Mission Prismatic Fragments

Now that you’ve unlocked all of your core Prismatic abilities and Aspects in Destiny 2, you can start working towards finishing off your collection of Prismatic Fragments. At the end of the campaign, you’ll have a decent amount of Fragments to work with but Prismatic has a total of 21 Fragments, leaving a fair few unaccounted for.

The first batch of Prismatic Fragments is hidden within several of The Final Shape campaign missions. These are the fitting named Facet of Devotion, Facet of Bravery, and Facet of Sacrifice Fragments, which can be found in The Assent, The Dissent, and Iconoclast missions, respectively.

You can obtain these Fragments in one of two ways. If you want to get the Fragments and nothing more, you can replay the campaign missions on Normal difficulty by selecting the Normal Campaign node on the Pale Heart map. Meanwhile, if you’d like to knock out two Light Birds with one stone, you can grab these Fragments as you try to complete the Microchosm Exotic Quest, which asks you to venture into these three missions on Cooperative Focus mode.

Facet of Devotion

The Facet of Devotion can be found within the Ascent Mission in the Destiny 2: The Final Shape campaign. This is where you scale the icy remnants of Old Russia in The Divide, all the while Cayde and Crow discuss Crow’s Wish and how Cayde came to be reborn within the Traveler.

To find the Prismatic Chest hidden within this mission, continue through normally until you begin climbing the sheer icy hills after scaling the rickety Old Russia wall. Eventually, you’ll come to stand inside the hollowed-out hull of a broken-down aeroplane and, before continuing forth, you can hop over the side of the cliff. Below, you’ll find the second piece of the hull and, inside of it, the first Prismatic Chest within the campaign.

The Facet of Devotion grants bonus Light Transcendance energy whenever you defeat targets afflicted with Stasis or Strand debuffs. It also grants you a passive +10 Strength for faster-powered melee regeneration.

Facet of Bravery

Next up is the Facet of Bravery, the Fragment associated with the Dissent Mission in The Final Shape campaign. Dissent is the second-to-last mission of the main campaign experience and tasks you with braving the untamed lands of The Transgression as you search for Zavala with his ever-loyal Ghost, Targe.

This time, the Prismatic Chest you’re looking for comes right at the end of the mission. Once you defeat the massive Scorn boss at the end of the mission (who looks a little bit too much like Fikrul), you’ll be forced to make a rapid departure as the world around you slowly comes undone. Don’t go too quickly, though, or you’ll miss the Prismatic Chest, which is hidden within this jumping puzzle at the end of a hallway near the start of the sequence. If you miss it, wipe and you’ll be put back at the start.

The Facet of Bravery grants your Void weapons Volatile Rounds whenever you defeat targets with grenades, while also granting Strand weapons Unravelling Rounds whenever you defeat enemies with your powered melee.

Facet of Sacrifice

The last campaign Prismatic Fragment is, fittingly, the Facet of Sacrifice. This is located within the last main mission of the campaign, Iconoclast, where you take what little fight you can muster straight to the Witness at the foot of its unfathomable monolith.

To find this Fragment and Prismatic Chest, proceed through the mission as normal until you begin scaling the gate to the monolith as you near the final clash with the Witness. During this ascent, you’ll eventually wander into a room with a strange War Beast, Worm statue hybrid as its centrepiece. To proceed deeper into the mission, you’d normally take a right. However, if you take a left at the statue and pursue the room you find yourself in, you should see a tiny hole up on the wall which you can jump into which will take you to the final Prismatic Chest.

The Facet of Sacrifice grants you bonus Darkness Transcendence energy whenever you get an ability final blow (Melee, Grenade, or Super) while you have an Arc, Solar, or Void buff.

Pale Heart Prismatic Challenge Fragments

With the three Fragments from Destiny 2: The Final Shape campaign scooped up, you can begin traversing the open world of the Pale Heart patrol space for your last few Fragments. In particular, there are several special Prismatic Challenges hidden around the Pale Heart which ask you to engage with a different mini-game or challenge, awarding you with a new Fragment upon a successful clear.

There are a total of five Prismatic Challenges in the Pale Heart. To be more specific, there are two challenges associated with The Lost City (one in the Outskirts and one in the bit right outside the safe zone), one in The Refraction, one in The Divide, and one in The Transgression. Unlocking all of these chests will also net you the Multifaceted Triumph.

Facet of Mending

The Facet of Mending is inside a Prismatic Chest located in the Lost City, Outskirts. To gain access to this Prismatic Chest, you must find four Lost Ghosts hidden in various locations around the Lost City Outskirts. These aren’t unlike the Ghosts Micah-10 sends you to find as part of her Lost in Darkness quests but they’re just part of this chest and not one of her questlines.

To track down the Ghosts, you should keep an eye on the top left corner of your screen as you’re exploring. Whenever the Ghost icon pops up in the corner, it means you’re close to one. Once you see it, bring out your own Ghost and it will begin directing you towards its lost kin.

The four Lost Ghosts within the Lost City Outskirts are in the following locations:

  • Atop a sign in the residential part of the city.
  • Behind a set of stairs near a Shrieker as you depart the City.
  • Above the door as you exit the City completely.
  • On the device that used to be in the Speaker’s Room that used to be in the Tower.

Once youve located the final Lost Ghost, head all the way back to where you first entered the Pale Heart. There, you’ll find that the four Lost Ghosts have rallied around a Pyramidic plate. Stepping onto this plate will summon a legion of adds and, eventually, even a Subjugator. If you’re able to fend off these foes, though, the plate will complete and the Subjugator will drop a special key, one that you can use to unlock the nearby Prismatic Chest for the Facet of Mending.

The Facet of Mending allows Grenade final blows to cure you. Additionally, the strength of the Cure effect is increased when you are Transcendent.

Facet of Grace

The Facet of Grace is the other Fragment from the Lost City. Instead of going to the Outskirts, you’ll be exploring the area immediately before you enter the safety of the Lost Tower. After dropping down into the Lost City from the Arbour of Light where Micah-10’s vendor set-up is, turn right and then head into the small outcropping of buildings.

Here, you’ll encounter a small group of Dread as well as a powerful Weaver called the Gordian Weaver. Upon defeating it, you’ll get a prompt notifying you that the First Omen has been defeated. This will cause the Second Omen, another Gordian Weaver, to spawn on the opposite side of the map. Head on over and repeat the process to spawn the third and final Omen, who are located in the final set of buildings in this area.

Upon defeating the final Omen, a Tormentor will spawn in the courtyard in the middle of the area. Defeating it will drop a Prismatic Key, which opens the Prismatic Chest back at the location where you defeated the first Omen. This will give you the Facet of Grace.

The Facet of Grace grants bonus Transcendence energy for defeating targets with Kinetic weapons. It also grants you and nearby allies bonus Transcendance energy when you get kills with your Super at the cost of -10 Resilience.

Facet of Justice

The next Prismatic Challenge on our list is the Facet of Justice in The Refraction. To unlock this Prismatic Chest, you’ll need to complete a short Hive Rune puzzle involving a Solar Crystal and a series of braziers.

To reach your quarry, enter The Refraction via The Landing and continue as normal until you reach a massive dome of blueish crystals. At the centre will be your Prismatic Chest and, on the second level of the dome, will be the Solar Crystal. Additionally, you should see three Hive Runes underneath the Crystal as well as another set of Runes lining the room. These latter Runes all correlate with a brazier.

Your goal here is simple: find the braziers associated with the Hive Runes beneath the Solar Crystal and then dunk the Crystal into the braziers in the order described. If you’re successful, you’ll spawn a fearsome army of Dread as well as Subjugator who, upon defeat, will drop the key to the Prismatic Chest, allowing you to claim the Facet of Justice.

The Facet of Justice causes enemies defeated by your abilities to explode while you are transcendent. Additionally, you’ll get a passive +10 Intellect bonus, as well.

Facet of Command

The Facet of Command is inside a Prismatic Chest within The Divide. You can reach this area via either The Seclusion or The Impasse but we recommend taking the path from the latter as it is much shorter. Keep going through the frozen creation of Old Russia until you stumble across the chest in your path.

Near the chest, you’ll find a wall with a bunch of holes in it, holes that are big enough for you to jump through. On the other side will be a Fallen Transmat device which will spawn in a Scorch Cannon. Additionally, there are two more frozen devices in the room which will unthaw if you shoot them with the Scorch Cannon. These devices are energy banks and you need to charge them both fully with Light Charges you find around the area.

These Light Charges are trapped within various ice crystals. To unthaw them, you need to shoot these crystals with the Scorch Cannon. There are a total of seven Charges to find – three Arc, two Solar, and two Void – with each element giving a different amount of charge. To reach the maximum charge on the devices, you need to reach a total of 10, with Arc charges granting 2, Solar giving 3, and Void giving 4. So long as you’re able to reach a combination of 10 charges on both devices, you can proceed: if you make a mistake, the machines will spit back out the charges so you can try again.

Once you successfully fully charge both devices, a group of Dread will spawn nearby, along with a Subjugator. As you’ve done with the other chests, kill the Subjugator, pick up the key it drops, and then you can open the chest to claim the Facet of Command.

The Facet of Command reloads your equipped weapons and increases your weapon stability, aim assist, and airborne effectiveness whenever you Freeze or Suppress a target. Furthermore, defeating Frozen or Suppressed targets will create a Stasis Shard or Void Breach, respectively.

Facet of Defiance

The final Prismatic Challenge in Destiny 2: The Final Shape is for the Facet of Defiance. You’ll find this challenge within the final area of the Pale Heart, The Transgression. In order to reach the chest, spawn into The Impasse and then make your way into The Transgression. Once you arrive, continue until you reach the second major part of the location and then look towards the left in search of a massive pink crystal.

The chest itself is inside of a long cave, one infested by Darkness which will constantly Poison you, causing you to take damage over time. This is the same effect from the Iconoclast mission and one you can stave off by finding Darkness buds around the room which, when shot, grant you the Shielded From Darkness buff.

To spawn the boss needed to open the chest, you must search the cave for various Taken Acolyte Eyes and destroy them. Each time you destroy a set of eyes, a new set will appear alongside some Taken who will try to, well, stop you. While you’re clearing the eyes, make sure to refresh your Shielded buff to not die to the Poison. Once you clear the third set of eyes, a Tormentor will spawn alongside a pack of Dread. Repeat your previous antics and defeat the Subjugator to nab the key for the Facet of Defiance.

The Facet of Defiance causes finishers to create a detonation that either Jolts, Scorhes, Slows, Severs or makes the target Volatile based on the damage type of your currently equipped Super. Additionally, it grants a +10 Recovery bonus.

Pale Heart Light and Dark Memory Chest Fragments

The final five Prismatic Fragments in Destiny 2: The Final Shape drop from special Memory Prismatic Chests in the Pale Heart. Unlike the Prismatic Challenges, these chests will only appear once you have the correct consumable, with there being two kinds of Memory Chest. There are Light Memory Chests (which need Light Vestiges) and Darkness Memory Chests (which need Dark Vestiges).

Memory Vestige: Darkness is a unique consumable which drops from Dark Resonance chests. These chests spawn in any of the Overthrow locations – The Landing, The Blooming, and The Impasse – as ordinary chests smothered in a layer of Dark tendrils. You can only claim the chest’s bounty open once you complete a small challenge which awards a Pale Heart Engram and a Vestige of Darkness. Once you have collected 5 Vestiges, they will transform into a Memory of Darkness.

Meanwhile, to obtain Memory Vestige: Light drops, you simply need to defeat enemies inside of a Cyst activity. Cysts are special excursions inside the Pale Heart that you unlock by progressing Micah-10’s Lost Ghost questline (namely the Lost in Darkness quests). When it comes to earning Light Vestiges, it doesn’t matter which Cyst you’re in: just slay out and watch as those Vestiges eventually coalesce into a full Memory of Light.

Once you collect enough Vestiges, they will transform into either Dark Memory or Light Memory which you’ll use to open the Prismatic Memory Chests. As for where you can find these chests, check the Pale Heart map while you have a Memory in your possession and you can see special search areas on the map. All you need to do is visit them and find the chest.

As for which chest type awards which Fragments, the list is as follows:

  • Light Memory Prismatic Chests: Facet of Awakening, Facet of Generosity, and the Facet of Dominance
  • Dark Memory Prismatic Chests: Facet of Honor, and the Facet of Solitude.

Note that you can continue collecting Light and Dark Vestiges once you’ve acquired all of the Fragments associated with that element. In that scenario, the Prismatic Chest you spawn from the Memory will just drop an Enhancement Core or a Pale Heart Blessing, so keep that in mind.
