Destiny 2: The Final Shape | All Salvation’s Edge Secret Chest Locations

In this quick and easy guide for Destiny 2: The Final Shape, we'll show you where to find both of the secret chests in the newest Raid, Salvation's Edge. Like all recent Raids and Dungeons, Bungie has hidden two special chests between the encounters of Salvation's Edge and, if you can them, you can get bonus Raid loot and a sick animated Shader based on the Witness.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape | All Salvation's Edge Secret Chest LocationsSalvation’s Edge is easily one of the best Raids in Destiny 2 history. Introduced with the new The Final Shape expansion, Salvation’s Edge asks us to ascend the Witness’ monolith within The Pale Heart of the Traveler so that we can finally take the fight to them once and for all. With some crazy new weapons and an incredible, foreboding art style not seen anywhere else in the game, Salvation’s Edge feels like the culmination of everything Bungie has learned in the last 10 years of making Raids. And part of that learning experience has, of course, been hiding plenty of secrets for players to find and Salvation’s Edge is no different.

This Raid has hidden apple collectables to find, a trusty puzzle you can do per week to guarantee a Deepsight Weapon from the final boss and, the subject of this article, two new secret chests. These chests function similarly to the secret chests found in most of the recent Destiny 2 Raids and Dungeons. If you’re able to find both of them, not only will you snag yourself some extra Raid loot and Salvation’s Edge Raid Mods, but you can also earn a special animated shader which lets you replicate the creepy, ever-moving appearance of the Witness.

Here’s how to unlock all of the secret chests in the new Salvation’s Edge Raid in Destiny 2: The Final Shape.

Salvation’s Edge Secret Chest 1 Location

The first secret chest in the Salvation’s Edge Raid is waiting for you in the jumping puzzle between the second and third encounters. To reach the third encounter, you’ll need to go through a very lengthy platforming section, one complete with death portals and Dread galore.

Eventually, you’ll arrive at a long, tall room full of Grim. The best way to tell if you’re in the right room is to look at the enemies: if the Grim are accompanied by a Strand Subjugator, you’re in the right place. At the back of this room will be three smaller chambers, each covered in a wall of cubic yellow crystals.

If you walk into the right-most room and peek around the yellow crystals, you’ll quickly discover a convenient Guardian-shaped hole in the shards, allowing you to clamber on into the all. Inside, you’ll find the first secret chest in Destiny 2’s Salvation’s Edge Raid. To escape this little room, you’ll need to climb up on some more crystals to reach a slit leading back to the chamber you just exited.

Salvation’s Edge Secret Chest 2 Location

As for the second Salvation’s Edge secret Raid chest in Destiny 2, you’ll need to get past the difficult fourth encounter and its puzzling statues because the chest is hiding in a secret room right before the final boss fight with the Witness.

The path to the Witness’ arena is a mess of gnarled, tangled black roots which you need to walk upon. These roots lead all the way to the boss arena but, as you near the top, some strange floating platforms will begin to pop up here and there.

This is your cue to look towards the underside of the Witness’ arena as, underneath it, there are a bunch of long stalactite-esque formations made out of cubes and rectangles. Some of these formations have handy gaps and hand-holes which you jump into. By following these areas underneath the boss arena, you’ll eventually find your way to a secret room, one housing the second Salvation’s Edge secret chest.

Salvation’s Edge Secret Chest Raid Loot in Destiny 2: The Final Shape

Now that you know where to find the secret chests in the Salvation’s Edge Raid in Destiny 2: The Final Shape, let’s go over what you can get from them. First and foremost, for opening both secret chests for the first time, you’ll earn the Fragmented Truths Triumph, which is required to unlock the Iconoclast Title. Additionally, this Triumph will unlock access to the Resonant Cellweave Shader, an awesome animated Shader which moves and undulates like the Witness.

As for the actual chest loot itself, the Salvation’s Edge secret chests work the same way as other secret dungeon or raid chests do in Destiny 2. The main thing of importance is that these chests will only drop the loot you’ve previously acquired from the main encounters, meaning that they cannot drop anything new for you: if you’ve only had the Arms and the Glaive drop, that’s all that’ll be in the secret chest loot pool until you expand your arsenal. The chests will drop Raid Mods for everyone, though, so that’s at least some kind of consolation prize.

Additionally, the secret chests can only be opened once per character per week. If you’re able to run through Salvation’s Edge on all three characters per week, that’s an additional 6 loot drops, which means 6 chances at Deepsight Weapons or god roll (although, it’ll more than likely just be low stat armour).

Salvation’s Edge has a total of six weapons to chase, all of which can be crafted if you can acquire 5 Deepsight versions of your chosen weapon. Of course, there’s also a set of Light and Dark-themed armour for each class, which seems to aim for the weird high-art vibes of the expansion.

  • Imminence Strand Submachine Gun
  • Critical Anomaly Stasis Sniper Rifle (Can roll with Chill Clip)
  • Nullify Solar Pulse Rifle (Heavy Burst that can roll with both Firefly and Incandescent)
  • Non-Denouncement Arc Bow (Can roll with Archer’s Tempo and Voltshot)
  • Forthcoming Deviance Void Glaive
  • Summum Bonum Arc Sword (Wave Frame)
