All New Weapons and How to Get Them

First, let’s review all the new weapons and how to acquire them.

In total, there are 8 Neomuna weapons to add to your arsenal. There is:

  • Volta Bracket Strand Sniper Rifle
  • Round Robin Strand Hand Cannon
  • Synchronic Roulette Strand Submachine Gun
  • Phyllotacic Spiral Arc Pulse Rifle
  • Iterative Loop Arc Fusion Rifle
  • Basso Ostinato Void Shotgun
  • Circular Logic Strand Machine Gun
  • Dimensional Hypotrochoid Grenade Launcher

These weapons all originate on Neomuna, share the same visual decals and all come with the Nanotech Tracer Rockets Origin Trait. However, they are split into two categories based on how you acquire them.

There are 8 Neomuna weapons in total, 3 of which are exclusive to Terminal Overload | Destiny 2 Neomuna Weapons

All Neomuna Weapons

Five of these weapons can be acquired randomly as rewards from Neomuna Public Events or the Legendary Engrams that Nimbus gives out when you increase your Neomuna Rank. These weapons are also craftable, meaning that once you get 5 Deepsights of the same gun (for example 5 Round Robins with Deepsight) you can return to the Enclave on Mars and craft a version of the weapon which can be levelled up and outfit with specific perks. The guns available from this method are the Volta Bracket, Round Robin, Phyllotactic Spiral, Iterative Loop and Dimensional Hypotrochoid.

Meanwhile, the other three weapons – the Synchronic Roulette, Basso Ostinato and Circular Logic – drop exclusively from the new Terminal Overload activity. Specifically, you are guaranteed to get one from the locked chest which spawns after completing all 3 waves and requires a Terminal Overload Key to open. Unlike their other Neomuna counterparts, these weapons cannot be crafted and you must play more Terminal Overload if you want additional rolls.

Furthermore, these weapons are on a daily rotation, with only one being available at any time corresponding to where the Terminal Overload activity currently is:

  • The Synchronic Roulette Submachine Gun drops when the activity is in Liming Harbour.
  • The Basso Ostinato Shotgun drops when the activity is in Ahimsa Park.
  • The Circular Logic Machine Gun drops when the activity is in Zephyr Concourse

Origin Traits: Nanotech Tracer Rockets

One thing that all of the Neomuna weapons shares is the Nanotech Tracer Rockets Origin Trait. The effect of this Origin Trait is as follows:

“Landing multiple hits turns your next shot into a homing micro-rocket.”

Nanotech Tracer Rockets Descriptor

The way that this Origin Trait works can be described as a less powerful version of the nano-rockets fired by the Quicksilver Storm. Every few shots, a rocket which matches the same element of the weapon (so a Strand rocket for Round Robin or an Arc one for Phyllotactic Spiral) will shoot toward your target.

While undoubtedly useful (as any extra damage will be), it can be admittedly quite difficult to actually see the rocket and notice the difference it makes. For minor adds, the damage just isn’t enough to noticeably change the TTK. As such, Nanotech Tracer Rounds are a good Origin Trait, and one you’ll likely notice more on the Heavy and Special weapons, but it’s not going to completely change the game or the way you play.

Volta Bracket (Sniper Rifle)

The Volta Bracket is the first Strand Sniper Rifle to come to Destiny 2. It’s an Aggressive Frame Sniper with access to some interesting perks, particularly for PvE.

Column 1:

  • Shoot to Loot: Shooting an ammo brick picks it up and automatically reloads all of your equipped weapons from reserves.
  • Subsistence: Defeating targets partially reloads the magazine from reserves.
  • Firmly Planted: Increased accuracy, stability, and handling when firing while crouched.
  • Perfect Float: Being in combat for a moderate time increases airborne effectiveness and reduces flinch until you are out of combat.
  • Triple Tap: Rapidly landing precision hits will return one round to the magazine.
  • Envious Assassin: Rapidly defeating targets with other weapons before drawing this one transfers ammo to the magazine from reserves. This effect can overflow the magazine based on the number of targets defeated.
  • Keep Away: Increased reload, range, and accuracy when no combatants are in close proximity.

Column 2:

  • Under Pressure: Improved stability and accuracy as the magazine gets lower.
  • Cascade Point: Final blows or sustained precision hits with another weapon increase this weapon’s rate of fire for a short duration.
  • Hatchling: Precision final blows or rapidly defeating targets with a non-precision weapon spawns a Threadling at the target’s location.
  • Eye of the Storm: This weapon becomes more accurate and boosts handling as your health gets lower.
  • Explosive Payload: Projectiles create an area-of-effect detonation on impact.
  • Opening Shot: Improved accuracy and range on the opening shot of attack.
  • Firing Line: This weapon deals increased precision damage when near two or more allies.
Volta Bracket

Volta Bracket

God Rolls

First off, the perks on the Volta Bracket mean that this will mainly be used as a PvE Sniper Rifle. It has a bevvy of good perks that can be used in several PvE builds, and marginally fewer good PvP options. Additionally, the Aggressive Sniper archetype is very competitive with options like the Eye of Sol (which generally have access to better perks for Crucible). However, if you’re deadset on using the Volta Bracket in PvP, there certainly are a few good options to choose from.

In PvE, you have a multitude of potential god rolls depending on your build. The classic combination of Triple Tap + Firing Line is arguably the best pick for sustained damage and endgame content. We’ve seen this roll several times before thanks to how good it is: it gives you bonus damage by simply standing next to your team, while allowing you to recall ammo on precision hits, letting you go longer without a reload. To make the most of this on Volta Bracket, you may want to consider a magazine perk that ups the ammo count (as a standard magazine can only hold 3 shots, only allowing you to get off one additional Triple Tap shot) but this is certainly the safest bet.

If you want something a bit different and want to incorporate Volta Bracket into your Strand builds, try Keep Away + Hatchling. This turns the Sniper Rifle into more of an add clear tool or something you use to begin an engagement that you’ll later push up into. Hatchling allows you to pick off a weak target and sick a Threadling on their allies from a distance (which works even better with the Exotic Swarmers to make enemies hit by Threadlings unravel) whereas Keep Away will give you some extra stats during those opening few moments. Then, as discord begins to grow from your distant Threadling army, swoop in with a Grapple and a Submachine Gun to clear up what remains.

Now we’ll move on to PvP. As we previously stated, there are much better Aggressive options in terms of perk pool, but Volta Bracket can still hold its own. You’ll want to try out Keep Away + Opening Shot if you plan on taking it into the Crucible. Opening Shot is (and always has been) a staple of most successful Snipers in the Crucible, thanks to the additional target acquisition. Paired with the new Keep Away perk, which will award you for playing a bit more cautiously with your Sniper Rifle, and you’ll have a healthy helping of bonus weapon stats for your troubles.

Round Robin (Hand Cannon)

The Round Robin is our first Strand Hand Cannon, as well as the first craftable 120 RPM one, too. It has a very good perk pool for both PvE and PvP, with the ability to slot into plenty of different builds.

Column 1:

  • Under Pressure: Improved stability and accuracy as the magazine gets lower.
  • Killing Wind: Final blows grant increased mobility, weapon range, and handling for a short duration.
  • Fourth Time’s the Charm: Rapidly landing precision hits will return two rounds to the magazine.
  • Subsistence: Defeating targets partially reloads the magazine from reserves.
  • Perfect Float: Being in combat for a moderate time increases airborne effectiveness and reduces flinch until you are out of combat.

Column 2:

  • Pugilist: Final blows with this weapon generate melee energy. Dealing melee damage briefly improves this weapon’s handling.
  • Elemental Capacitor: Increases stats based on your current subclass.
  • Harmony: Final blows with other weapons improve this weapon’s damage and performance for a short duration.
  • Golden Tricorn: Final blows with this weapon grant bonus damage. While this buff is active, grenade or melee kills of the same damage type greatly increase its damage and duration.
  • Kill Clip: Reloading after a kill grants increased damage.
  • Opening Shot: Improved accuracy and range on the opening shot of attack.
  • Hatchling: Precision final blows or rapidly defeating targets with a non-precision weapon spawns a Threadling at the target’s location.
Round Robin

Round Robin

God Rolls

Before going any further, let’s do a quick deep dive into Hatchling. This perk is going to be good on any Strand weapon, but it is particularly good on Primary weapons like the Round Robin or Synchronic Roulette. Being able to spawn a Threadling on every precision kill is an incredible boon, especially when paired with several Exotics or Strand fragments which boost the viability of Threadlings. Broodweaver Warlocks, in particular, will see immense value in this perk as it can play nicely into their minion-summoning gameplay loop and synergise well with Swarmers, allowing each Threadling that Hatchling spawns to unravel targets.

For PvE, Keep Away is likely the best perk in the first column. You can decide your desired range much better in PvE and Keep Away activates upon having no enemies with 15m of you, well within range for your typical 120 Hand Cannon. This perk will help with your slow reload and give a bit of a boost in accuracy, too. For the second perk, you could use Keep Away + Hatchling if you’re planning on using Round Robin exclusively on Strand, or Keep Away + Golden Tricorn if you want a pure damage boost from spamming abilities.

In PvP, you’ll likely want to stick to your usual suite of perks. Under Pressure + Opening Shot or even Keep Away + Opening Shot are likely going to be good options, with the former allowing you to be a more consistent shot all around and the latter allowing you to be particularly deadly at range. Admittedly, Keep Away + Hatchling is also extremely viable in PvP, too, if you plan on building heavily into Strand and Threadlings for the Crucible, as 120 Hand Cannons are some of the best precision weapons in the game.

Synchronic Roulette (Submachine Gun)

Synchronic Roulette is one of two new Strand Submachine Guns to join the game in Destiny 2: Lightfall. It could be argued that this SMG sits in the upper echelon of the new Strand weapons, with access to some really good perks.

Column 1:

  • Under Pressure: Improved stability and accuracy as the magazine gets lower.
  • Keep Away: Increased reload, range, and accuracy when no combatants are in close proximity.
  • Envious Assassin: Rapidly defeating targets with other weapons before drawing this one transfers ammo to the magazine from reserves. This effect can overflow the magazine based on the number of targets defeated.
  • Slickdraw: Significantly increases handling, significantly decreases target acquisition.
  • Perfect Float: Being in combat for a moderate time increases airborne effectiveness and reduces flinch until you are out of combat.
  • Pulse Monitor: Automatically reloads the magazine and improves weapon handling when wounded—even when this weapon is stowed.

Column 2:

  • Hatchling: Precision final blows or rapidly defeating targets with a non-precision weapon spawns a Threadling at the target’s location.
  • Elemental Capacitor: Increases stats based on your current subclass.
  • Kill Clip: Reloading after a kill grants increased damage.
  • Cascade Point: Final blows or sustained precision hits with another weapon increase this weapon’s rate of fire for a short duration.
  • Target Lock: Damage increases the longer this weapon remains on a target.
  • Pugilist: Final blows with this weapon generate melee energy. Dealing melee damage briefly improves this weapon’s handling.
Synchronic Roulette

Synchronic Roulette

God Rolls

Like with the Round Robin, Synchronic Roulette is one of the best weapons to take advantage of Hatchling. In fact, it will likely work even better on the SMG as you will be close range, allowing you to quickly secure any kills the Threadlings don’t manage to finish off or effectively utilise any Tangles they manage to create. The Synchronic Roulette allows you to become a frontline Strand killing machine, spawning Threadlings every few kills and wreaking havoc among the entire battlefield.

This is why it is no surprise that, for PvE, the recommended roll is Envious Assassin + Hatchling. The benefits of Hatchling are obvious, but the pairing with Envious Assassin makes it sing. One of the weakest parts of the weapon is how long it will take to reload and how relatively small the magazine is compared to some other options. Envious Assassin works to fix both of these issues, so long as you’re reliably using either your secondary or Heavy weapon to take care of adds; as such, this roll is perfect to pair with a Machine Gun or Grenade Launcher, which can clear large groups of adds and leave you with enough breathing room to let the SMG shine.

For PvP, you could go with the same Envious Assasin + Hatchling roll for some Strand carnage, but there are a few other options to consider. Primarily, Perfect Float + Elemental Capacitor or Under Pressure + Kill Clip are both good picks. The former will grant you a lot of different stats and bonuses depending on your subclass, and you’ll even be able to double-dip into Airborne Effectiveness on a Strand subclass (which will be immensely useful if you plan on using Grapple). Meanwhile, the latter is just a good roll for general play, with Kill Clip giving you some nice additional damage while Under Pressure makes fighting easier the longer a duel lasts.

Phyllotactic Spiral (Pulse Rifle)

The Phyllotactic Spiral is an Arc Pulse Rifle. It is a High-Impact Frame will perks that mainly shift it towards PvP over PvE.

Column 1:

  • Under-Over: Deals bonus damage to targets with overshields. Deals a small amount of bonus damage to combatant shields.
  • Hip-Fire Grip: Increases accuracy, stability, and precision hit targeting when firing from the hip.
  • Compulsive Reloader: Grants increased reload speed when close to full magazine.
  • Shot Swap: Final blows build and store charges which allow you to swap and stow this weapon at a faster rate.
  • Tunnel Vision: Reloading after defeating a target greatly increases target acquisition and aim down sight speed for a short duration.
  • Perfect Float: Being in combat for a moderate time increases airborne effectiveness and reduces flinch until you are out of combat.
  • Keep Away: Increased reload, range, and accuracy when no combatants are in close proximity.

Column 2:

  • Elemental Capacitor: Increases stats based on your current subclass.
  • Harmony: Final blows with other weapons improve this weapon’s damage and performance for a short duration.
  • Gutshot Straight: Aiming down sights increases body shot damage, decreases target acquisition.
  • Frenzy: Being in combat for an extended time increases damage, handling, and reload for this weapon until you are out of combat.
  • Headseeker: Body shots landed with this weapon increase precision damage and aim assist for a short time. Body shots landed while the perk is active refresh the time.
  • Kill Clip: Reloading after a kill grants increased damage.
  • Voltshot: Reloading this weapon after defeating a target overcharges this weapon for a short period of time, causing it to jolt on its next hit.
Phyllotactic Spiral

Phyllotactic Spiral

God Rolls

One of the most interesting perks of the Phyllotactic Spiral is Voltshot. This is the first Pulse Rifle in the game to receive this perk, which is incredibly strong and synergises very well with most Arc builds. Jolt is one of the best elemental effects in the game thanks to the additional damage output it creates and how it has the ability to aid in both adding clearance and sustained DPS. On the Spiral, specifically, Voltshot helps offset the weakness that some Pulse Rifles may feel in high-level content, especially when paired with some of the other options.

For PvE, I would recommend trying to Keep Away + Voltshot or Keep Away + Frenzy. The Spiral doesn’t have many great perks in column 1, admittedly, so Keep Away is our best option: it would still likely be one of the better ones, regardless, thanks to the reliance Pulse Rifles have on being at long-range in most engagements. For the second perk, go with Voltshot is you plan on using Spiral in a lot of Arc-centric builds as it will help you keep up with Jolt, or pick Frenzy if you want to use it for general play.

For PvP, we have a bit more to play with. Keep Away is still a particularly good column 1 option, but now perks like Perfect Float or Tunnel Vision have a bit more of a chance. A good pairing to try would be Keep Away + Headseeker as the weapon buffs from Keep Away will make it easier to duel at longer ranges, which ties well into how Headseeker works. Additionally, Keep Away + Kill Clip or Tunnel Vision + Kill Clip are both good picks if you want to be a bit more aggressive and have a more consistent source of bonus damage.

Iterative Loop (Fusion Rifle)

Iterative Loop is a new Arc Fusion Rifle. It’s a Rapid-Fire Frame with access to some really good PvE perks.

Column 1:

  • Killing Wind: Final blows grant increased mobility, weapon range, and handling for a short duration.
  • Well-Rounded: Throwing a grenade or hitting a target with a charged melee grants a stacking bonus to weapon stability, handling, and range.Using a Super grants maximum stacks.
  • Grave Robber: Melee final blows reload this weapon’s magazine from reserves.
  • Slickdraw: Significantly increases handling, significantly decreases target acquisition.
  • Lead from Gold: Picking up Heavy ammo also grants ammo to this weapon.
  • Compulsive Reloader: Grants increased reload speed when close to full magazine.
  • Under Pressure: Improved stability and accuracy as the magazine gets lower.

Column 2:

  • Pugilist: Final blows with this weapon generate melee energy. Dealing melee damage briefly improves this weapon’s handling.
  • Adagio: After defeating a target, this weapon fires, charges, or draws more slowly and deals increased damage for a brief time.
  • Elemental Capacitor: Increases stats based on your current subclass.
  • Adrenaline Junkie: This weapon gains increased damage and handling from final blows with grenades or this weapon.
  • Demolitionist: Kills with this weapon generate grenade energy. Activating your grenade ability reloads this weapon from reserves.
  • Kickstart: Gain bonus damage and charge rate during a slide after sprinting for a short duration.
  • Voltshot: Reloading this weapon after defeating a target overcharges this weapon for a short period of time, causing it to jolt on its next hit.
Iterative Loop

Iterative Loop

God Rolls

Just like with the Phyllotactic Spiral, Voltshot rears its head as one of Iterative Loop’s best perks. This is only the second Fusion Rifle to roll the perk (with the other being the Iron Banner Fusion, The Wizened Rebuke) and it allows the weapon to become a real monster in PvE. Thanks to the high damage of each Fusion Rifle burst, you can easily take down adds and constantly have high uptime on Voltshot, allowing you to mow through adds and major enemies alike.

For PvE, consider trying out Lead from Gold + Voltshot or Compulsive Reloader + Voltshot if you plan on running an Arc build. Lead from Gold frees you up from running both a Heavy and Special Ammo Finder, whereas Compulsive Reloader directly feeds into the Voltshot loop by allowing a quick reload on basically every shot (if you get a kill, of course). If you plan on using something other than Arc, Lead from Gold + Demolitionist is a good bet for some for getting a constant stream of ammo and grenade energy.

In terms of what’s strong in PvP, Under Pressure + Kickstart or Under Pressure + Adagio would be good rolls to try. Under Pressure is a great perk on Fusion Rifles as it will active as soon as you respawn due to the fact that you only with two shots in the magazine. This gives you an inherent advantage as soon as the match starts and unless you’re on a real tear, you’ll likely continue receiving those benefits all match long. The choice between Kickstart or Adagio comes down to personal preference: choose the former if you prefer to be very mobile and aggressive with your Fusion, and the latter if you like to be a bit more stealthy and patient.

Basso Ostinato (Shotgun)

The Basso Ostinato is a Void Shotgun that drops from Terminal Overload. It’s a very interesting Rapid Fire Frame, in no small part thanks to one of its best perks.

Column 1:

  • Well-Rounded: Throwing a grenade or hitting a target with a charged melee grants a stacking bonus to weapon stability, handling, and range.Using a Super grants maximum stacks.
  • Lead from Gold: Picking up Heavy ammo also grants ammo to this weapon.
  • Envious Assassin: Rapidly defeating targets with other weapons before drawing this one transfers ammo to the magazine from reserves. This effect can overflow the magazine based on the number of targets defeated.
  • Grave Robber: Melee final blows reload this weapon’s magazine from reserves.
  • Perpetual Motion: This weapon gains bonus stability, handling, and reload speed while the wielder is in motion.
  • Shot Swap: Final blows build and store charges which allow you to swap and stow this weapon at a faster rate.

Column 2:

  • Destabilizing Rounds: Final blows cause nearby targets to become volatile.
  • Trench Barrel: After a successful melee hit, this weapon gains increased damage, handling, and reload speed for a short duration—or until three shots are fired.
  • Pugilist: Final blows with this weapon generate melee energy. Dealing melee damage briefly improves this weapon’s handling.
  • One-Two Punch: Hitting an enemy with every pellet in a shot increases melee damage for a short duration.
  • Opening Shot: Improved accuracy and range on the opening shot of attack.
  • Adagio: After defeating a target, this weapon fires, charges, or draws more slowly and deals increased damage for a brief time.
Basso Ostinato

Basso Ostinato

God Rolls

The star of the show for this weapon is undoubtedly Destabilizing Rounds. This is another elemental verb perk and it works with the Void effect Volatile. It should be noted that this weapon does not give or revolve around the Volatile Rounds effect that perks like Volatile Flow grants, but it is a pure burst of Volatile on kill. This is a great effect that only exists on a small handful of weapons, and the Ostinato is one of them.

For PvE, Lead from Gold + Destabilizing Rounds or Grave Robber + Destabilizing Rounds are both enticing picks for any Void build. Like with the Iterative Loop, running Lead from Gold gives you a bit more freedom in terms of what mods you run, whereas Grave Robber will be very easy to activate thanks to being in the thick of battle with a Shotgun. In either loop, Destabilizing Rounds works great on a Shotgun, as you will be up close and personal to clean up whatever remains once the explosions subside. If you aren’t going with a Void build, Grave Robber + One-Two Punch or Grave Robber + Trench Barrel are likely to serve you well.

For PvP, you have a couple of choices. Rapid Fire Frames aren’t particularly popular due to their short range and lack of consistency, but you do have access to some good perks on the Ostinato. Perpetual Motion + Opening Shot is a good bet for any Guardian that wants to be incredibly mobile and aggressive with their weapons, while Well-Rounded + Opening Shot is a good choice for any ability-heavy builds to stack weapon stats before an engagement.

Circular Logic (Machine Gun)

Circular Logic is our first Strand Machine Gun (and Strand Heavy weapon, period). It’s an Adaptive Frame with access to an impressive perk pool in PvE, especially considering the buff Machine Guns just received. Machine Guns aren’t really a big staple of PvP and the perks of Heavy Weapons matter far less than their archetype in the Crucible, so we’ll just be providing PvE recommendations for this weapon.

Column 1:

  • Keep Away: Increased reload, range, and accuracy when no combatants are in close proximity.
  • Envious Assassin: Rapidly defeating targets with other weapons before drawing this one transfers ammo to the magazine from reserves. This effect can overflow the magazine based on the number of targets defeated.
  • Shot Swap: Final blows build and store charges which allow you to swap and stow this weapon at a faster rate.
  • Pulse Monitor: Automatically reloads the magazine and improves weapon handling when wounded—even when this weapon is stowed.
  • Offhand Strike: Final blows grant additional weapon range, stability, and accuracy when firing from the hip for a short duration.
  • Feeding Frenzy: Each rapid kill with this weapon progressively increases reload speed for a short time.

Column 2:

  • Hatchling: Precision final blows or rapidly defeating targets with a non-precision weapon spawns a Threadling at the target’s location.
  • Golden Tricorn: Final blows with this weapon grant bonus damage. While this buff is active, grenade or melee kills of the same damage type greatly increase its damage and duration.
  • Vorpal Weapon: Increased damage against bosses, vehicles, and Guardians with their Super active.
  • Eye of the Storm: This weapon becomes more accurate and boosts handling as your health gets lower.
  • Target Lock: Damage increases the longer this weapon remains on a target.
  • Demolitionist: Kills with this weapon generate grenade energy. Activating your grenade ability reloads this weapon from reserves.
Circular Logic

Circular Logic

God Rolls

Like with the other Strand weapons, Hatchling is an excellent perk for the Circular Logic. As a Heavy Machine gun, you’ll easily be able to mow down large swathes of adds and, while every kill won’t be a precision one, you will create tons of little Threadlings in the process. When paired with another Hatchling weapon like the Synchronic Roulette, you can get into a really nice loop where you are almost always spawning Threadlings, no matter the weapon.

Circular Logic also has a great suite of PvE perks to choose from. Envious Assassin + Hatchling or Envious Assassin + Golden Tricorn are both incredibly good rolls. Envious Assassin allows you to sidestep the biggest problem of many Machine Guns (which is their long reload time) as well as provide even more ammunition by overloading the magazine with rounds that can be massively amplified by either Hatchling or Golden Tricorn. The former perk is great in Strand builds and the latter is great in basically everything, especially in builds where you are constantly throwing around abilities (which includes Strand, as well).

If you want to go down a different route, Keep Away + Target Lock could also work. Machine Guns have a pretty good range, especially for a high ammo count Heavy, so getting a bunch of bonuses for just staying within optimal range is a great boon. Similarly, Target Lock works really well with Machine Guns and allows them to take on major and ultra enemies just as effectively as they deal with minors. Another great part about Circular Logic is that, as a Strand weapon, it can utilise Unravelling Rounds alongside any perk combination, making almost any build great on Strand.

Dimensional Hypotrochoid (Grenade Launcher)

The Dimensional Hypotrochoid is the first Heavy Wave Frame and Stais Wave Frame to join the game. To go alongside that desirable weapon frame is a range of strong perk options that can make this weapon a great fit for any build. Just like with the Circular Logic, we’ll only be mentioning PvE options as Grenade Launcher as more determined by their frame in PvP rather than what perks they have.

Column 1:

  • Shot Swap: Final blows build and store charges which allow you to swap and stow this weapon at a faster rate.
  • Unrelenting: Rapidly defeating targets triggers health regeneration. Guardians and powerful combatants count as more than one kill.
  • Genesis: Breaking a combatant’s shield with this weapon fills its magazine from reserves. Energy weapons regenerate ammo on hit when matching the damage type to the combatant’s shield.
  • Threat Detector: Increased reload, stability, and handling when enemies are in close proximity.
  • Field Prep: Increased ammo reserves. Faster reload, stow, and ready when you’re crouching.
  • Stats for All: Hitting three separate targets increases weapon handling, stability, reload, and range for a moderate duration.
  • Envious Assassin: Rapidly defeating targets with other weapons before drawing this one transfers ammo to the magazine from reserves. This effect can overflow the magazine based on the number of targets defeated.

Column 2:

  • Thresh: Killing combatants with this weapon generates a small amount of Super energy.
  • Turnabout: Using this weapon to break the shield of a combatant or a Guardian using their Super will grant you an overshield.
  • Pugilist: Final blows with this weapon generate melee energy. Dealing melee damage briefly improves this weapon’s handling.
  • Vorpal Weapon: Increased damage against bosses, vehicles, and Guardians with their Super active.
  • Disruption Break: Breaking an enemy’s shield with this weapon makes them more vulnerable to Kinetic damage for a brief period.
  • One for All: Hitting three separate targets increases damage for a moderate duration.
  • Chain Reaction: Each final blow with this weapon creates an elemental damage explosion.
Dimensional Hypotrochoid

Dimensional Hypotrochoid

God Rolls

The fact that this is the first Heavy Wave Frame Grenade Launcher opens up a lot of distinct possibilities. For one, this makes the weapon generally easier to use than other Grenade Launchers. You don’t have to be as precise with aiming, and that can open up a wider range of perk options. This also means that the Hypotrochoid is likely going to fit better as an add-clearing weapon rather than anything you’ll use in a DPS phase.

As such, you should try out Stats for All + Chain Reaction or Envious Assassin + Chain Reaction. As a Wave Frame, this weapon will already interact much better with Chain Reaction than other types of Grenade Launcher and the fact that it is a Heavy Weapon only makes it easier to kill squishy targets for big elemental explosions. Additionally, that ease of use and the wide range of a Wave Frame opens up the floor for perks like Stats for All, which can work very well to give your weapon a bit more kick for simply hitting more than one target.

Another path to go down could be Stats for All + One for All. As we just said, Wave Frames have an easier time hitting multiple targets thanks. This combination would give you a bunch of bonus weapon stats and some additional damage to help deal with even more adds. The Stats for All + One for All roll makes Hypotrochoid an add-clearing monster and one that shouldn’t be slept on in any build, especially now that we have access to things like Weapon Surge Mods.
