The best Mr. Negative decks in Marvel Snap are usually the ones with the most cracked combos. Following a very recent buff to Magik, Mr. Negative decks are now more viable than ever. This article will cover a few decks that will help you master the archetype. From Living Tribunal to Silver Surfer, there’s a home for Mr. Negative in a lot of different places. 8-cubers are easily farmed while using him as your opponent doesn’t really know what to expect when Mr. Negative shocks your deck of cards. Hopefully, you can shock your opponents with your gameplan and leave them in the dust.
The Deceased Tribunal
The first deck we are going to cover includes two recently buffed cards; The Living Tribunal and Magik. The aim is to copy your Iron Man with Mystique creating massive power in a lane. Then, you play Tribunal and distribute that power evenly across all locations. The deck list is as follows:
- Bast
- Zabu
- Ironheart
- Mystique
- Wolfsbane
- Magik
- Mr. Negative
- Jubilee
- Wong
- Iron Man
- Jane Foster
- The Living Tribunal
Previously, it was possible to use a ramp-style deck to play Iron Man on 4, Onslaught on 5, then Tribunal on 6. However, this way is much simpler and includes many other cards that can equally win you the game if you do not draw Iron Man. Bast is there to give your 0-power cards a boost if they start in your hand rather than your deck. Jane Foster, Jubilee, and Magik are all there to ensure you draw the specific cards you need to pull of this combo. Wolfsbane can be incredibly powerful if it is played alongside Wong.
Don’t forget to use Zabu to discount your Mr. Negative and set yourself up early. Psylocke could fit in this deck, however, with how early you can play Magik now, there is no need for her. Another card that you could try to shove into this deck is Adam Warlock. He will help you draw the cards you need as well as providing a nice 2-power for no cost if he is hit by Mr. Negative.
Silver Schemes
Silver Surfer has been getting a lot of love recently via patches and updates. The card itself hasn’t changed, yet there have been a lot of buffed cards that now work well in Surfer decks. Great examples of this are the new Dazzler and Nakia. This specific deck works similarly to the one above as it is a variation of it. Take a look at the full deck list below:
- Bast
- Zabu
- Wolfsbane
- Brood
- Ironheart
- Silver Surfer
- Magik
- Hit-Monkey
- Wong
- Mr. Negative
- Iron Man
- Sera
Piloting this deck takes a bit of skill, especially in terms of knowing when to snap. Usually, if you Mr. Negative early and have Iron Man in your deck, you should be set for victory. It is important to note that you can swap out a few cards for more Surfer-specific cards such as; Rogue. In fact, many people do indeed use Rogue in this variation of the deck, yet this version does not include her. You are very welcome to include her though as she will prove useful against a plethora of cards. She is able to counter Knull, Patriot, Iron Man, Wong and more.
Speaking of Wong, he truly shines in this deck. Being able to re-trigger Surfer and Hit-Monkey can lead to incredibly high power output. The deck functions similarly to the previous one, yet instead of splitting your power evenly at the end, you must manually play your cards in smart positions. Playing Brood and Wolfsbane in a location basically guarantees you victory in that lane, especially when you play Surfer afterwards. Inner Demons & Destruction
Destroy and Mr. Negative is a niche deck that doesn’t see much play. Most players tend to use a traditional destroy deck or a Destroyer x Nimrod variation of it. That being said, the strength of this deck cannot be understated at all. Now that Magik is able to be played early, you should be able to pull off your crazy combos much, much easier now. Can this version of destroy be the best Mr. Negative deck in Marvel Snap? Let’s take a look:
- Deadpool
- Nova
- Carnage
- Zabu
- Venom
- Magik
- Mr. Negative
- Absorbing Man
- Shang-Chi
- Jane Foster
- Arnim Zola
- Knull
Absorbing Man might leave a few of you confused, but the under-used card kind of finds a home in this deck. He acts as a second Venom that has +1 power if he is Mr. Negative-ed. He can also act as a second Shang-Chi, catching your opponent by surprise and netting you those sweet 8-cuber wins. There are a lot of creative uses for him in this deck, but you are free to substitute him out for a card such as Wolverine.
The main focus of this deck is to try and Arnim your Knull, essentially doubling its power and playing it in two other lanes. This combo is extremely powerful can has few counters. Watch out for Juggernaut, Cosmo, Shang-Chi and Enchantress, as they will really mess up your plays. There are a lot of versatile cards that can slot in and out of this deck such as Killmonger for Absorbing Man, or Yondu for Nova.
In the end, it is up to personal preference and which cards you feel better using. These deck lists are simply made to give you the general idea and help you understand the gist of what the deck is trying to achieve. Upon learning so, you are free to create your own variation of it that better suits your playstyle. All in all, this deck can be brutal against players who are not prepared or do not have a direct counter.
