Best Legion Decks in Marvel Snap

The newest addition to Marvel Snap‘s packed roster is Legion. He is a 5-cost card with 8-power that reads: On Reveal: Replace each other location with this one. This effect sounds extremely interesting to mess around with but also a bit confusing. There definitely will be some interactions that require extensive experimentation to pull off effectively. Therefore, it is to be assumed that the ‘ultimate Legion deck’ won’t be obvious right away. That being said, these are some of what we believe to be the most powerful Legion decks in Marvel Snap.

Muggle Maker – A Magik User & Counter

With her most recent buff, Magik has been dominating the Marvel Snap meta as of late. This is because she greatly helps decks such as Mr. Negative draw the cards they need. A plethora of other decks also utilize Magik, therefore, having a viable counter is extremely necessary. In enters Legion. Similar to Storm, Legion is able to change the ‘Limbo’ location, catching your opponent off guard and ending the game earlier than they had anticipated. To be extra cheeky, you can play nothing the entire game. Then, on turn 6 play Legion on bar with no name. That’s the thing with Legion, always try to use your locations to your advantage. You can copy Central Park to clutter your opponent’s lanes and benefit your Patriot deck etc. Infinite possibilities, infinite fun.

Additionally, you can also use Legion to benefit your own Magik. This is because even if they Storm your Magik lane, you still have two others that are active. Of course, this is a niche use but it is helpful nonetheless. Typically, you’ll be aiming to float turn 6 which feeds your Sunspot and allows you to play both She-Hulk and Infinaut on turn 7. You can also be really sneaky and shove Rhino in here. This way you surprise your opponent by ruining your own created Limbo. Here is the deck list:

Xavier Grounds Legion – High Evo Lockdown

This deck takes things to the next level. It doesn’t rely on Legion’s ability, instead uses it as only a possible win-condition. There are a lot of useful cards your Iron Lad can hit such as Storm, Professor X, or even Legion himself. The goal here really is to focus on winning by playing a classic High Evo lockdown deck. If the opportunity arises to use Legion, then by all means use it. However, just like many newly released cards in Snap, not all of them are consistently reliable. You must learn when to retreat and how to play without drawing these new cards. 

You can substitute Iron Lad for Daredevil or any other no-ability card such as The Thing. In general, you’ll find that Legion works best in this deck as a tool to add pressure onto your opponent and increase your unpredictability. Make sure to keep an eye out on locations that benefit you or hinder your opponent. That is where you will want to play Legion. Even if you play him just for stats it’s not the worst thing in the world. A deactivated Gamora is a 5-cost 7-power. Therefore, don’t stress too much if you can’t use his ability to maximum effect in a specific game. This is the deck:

Toxic Disruption – I Counter, You Retreat

8-cube wins won’t always be what this deck can net you, yet it’s great for consistent retreats. Not only is the deck incredibly annoying to play against. Most of the time, you won’t even need to think of an end-game because players will most likely rage quit. Use this deck if you have no kindness in your heart or if you love using the Ms. Marvel emote. The deck consists of practically all of the counters imaginable especially the ones that block out the current meta. Viper is key as you can give your opponent a rock, The Hood, or The Void. Aero and Magneto are great for power and control as well.

The main goal is to ruin your opponent’s plans. While doing so, you’ll inflict them with negative power, lock them out of locations, and mess up their plays. Cosmo is not only a fantastic counter to the prevalent Negative/Wong meta at the moment, you can safely play Sentry underneath. The way Legion fits into this deck is entirely subjective. Players should not rely on him to net 8-cubers but instead use him as a tech card. He is in this deck to either take advantage of good locations or disrupt your opponents. Either way, this deck has a bit of everything to help you scrape a win under the most difficult of situations.

If you even wanted, you could add some destroy by slipping Carnage, Thanos and Bucky Barnes into this deck. This helps you eat The Void, rocks and Hood instead of relying on drawing Viper. Another possible replacement would be Debris for Rogue. Sure, sending over rocks using Viper is fun, but Patriot is still lurking strong so maybe add Rogue instead. She’s especially useful because of how often Iron Man is played nowadays.
