How to Easily Farm COAM Early in ARMORED CORE 6 (Easy AC6 Money Guide)

Learn how to quickly farm a ton of money in ARMORED CORE 6 with this easy guide. COAM is required to buy new parts for your AC in AC6, meaning that it is the main obstacle between you and the mech of your dreams. Fortunately, we have an easy way of obtaining a bunch of COAM super early on in the game, allowing you to purchase any AC Part you desire.

How to Easily Farm COAM Early in ARMORED CORE 6 (Easy AC6 Money Guide)

Creating your perfect AC is maybe the best part of ARMORED CORE 6: choosing whether to go light or heavy, ranged or melee, bright hot pink or serious edgy black. However, one of the biggest constraints to building the armoured mecha of your dreams is, well, cash. While you get paid a decent chunk of change from main mission progress, it’s a pittance compared to what you need to outfit the best Armored Cores with the tools they need. As such, you’ll need to turn to a dark, perhaps more tedious, method of acquiring COAM, the currency used to purchase new parts in AC6. Fortunately, there are a couple of super early COAM farms that any player of any skill can use to quickly get the edge on the other Dogs of War you’ll fight on Rubicon.

Here’s the best way to quickly farm a ton of COAM in ARMORED CORE VI: FIRES OF RUBICON, allowing you to easily pick up any AC Part you want early in the game.

Best Ways to Farm COAM in AC6: Destroy the Tester AC Mission

The best method for farming easy money in ARMORED CORE VI is by replaying old missions. To replay missions, simply head to Sortie and then press Replay Missions to see all your previous completed activities. For this method, in particular, you’ll be farming the mission titled Destroy the Tester AC, one of the first missions you’ll undertake once you touchdown on Rubicon. Under direction from Arquebus, you must destroy a new test AC produced by Dafeng so that it doesn’t gain ground and threaten future operations. This mission is short, sharp and sweet, coming to a close as soon as you total the enemy AC.

If you’re skilled enough, you can take down the Tester AC in under 30 seconds. This should also net you the S Rank for the mission, giving you a bit of extra COAM for your troubles. On average, factoring in loading back to the Garage and re-entering the mission, you’re looking at 1 minute per replay for almost 100,000 COAM each trip.

Destroy the Tester AC

The best way to deal with this mission is to just try and overwhelm the trainee pilot. They always spawn at the top of a building covered in several structures, allowing you to easily box them in and trap them with close-range weaponry. This should quickly shred their Stagger bar and allow you to quickly, and cleanly, deliver the kill in a matter of seconds. Even if they do manage to get off the roof and escape to open ground, you can bait them into a Pulse Blade swing by standing close and then counter with your arsenal after dashing away.

This AC also seems especially easy to Stagger. By playing aggressively and relentlessly using your tools, you can basically stun-lock the poor pilot and break down his AC in no time flat.

Considering that early game parts cost anywhere from 90,000 to 400,000 COAM, being able to scrounge together enough money for a new part every 5 minutes is pretty good. This method is also great to remember for later in the game if you find yourself just shy of the required amount for a specific part: hop in, toast the Tester AC and net yourself a quick 100k for a minute’s worth of work.

This is certainly the quickest and the best method for a short, sharp injection of cash. It won’t have you running through 10-minute missions or a laundry list of objectives and rewards enough COAM to make the continued trips worth it.

Best AC Parts for the Mission

If you’re an overachiever and want to maximise your chances of clearing this mission as quickly as possible, there are a few routes for you to take depending on your preferences and current AC part repertoire.

The two most dangerous tools the Tester AC can use are the Pulse Blade and some slow-tracking missiles. As such, being as mobile as possible is a big plus for this fight. A Lightweight AC, such as those using NACHTREIHER model parts, can run circles around the Tester, allowing you to quickly dive in and out for an especially quick kill. Alternatively, those who prefer strictly airborne fights will be happy to know that Tetrapod ACs also excel here, as the Tester doesn’t have many potent attacks it can use against combatants in the air.

As for main weaponry, the two best guns we can recommend are the LR-036 CURTIS and the HG-003 COQUILLETT. The former is a longer-ranged Linear Rifle that can be charged up to deal extensive damage to an enemy AC: In particular, this weapon is superb at Staggering enemies in a single shot, perfect for opening an engagement or for softening up a target as you close in with a Boost. On the other hand, the COQUILLETT is intended for close-range duels with some explosive firepower to match that requirement. You can even duel-wield this gun to shred through enemy armour at a much faster pace.

You can acquire the CURTIS Linear Rifle for free by completing the Beginner Training 2: Combat Fundamentals Training Mission, whereas the COQUILLETT will cost you only 35,000 COAM from the Parts Shop.

In your Left Arm, consider going in with the HI-32 Pulse Blade. This weapon is strong, great at Staggering and pairs exceptionally well with the recommended AC and weapon types we’ve recommended so far. Additionally, because the Tester will constantly be going for their own Pulse Blade combo, it gives you ample opportunities to whip it out and punish the Tester for some easy kills. In fact, opening up the fight with a two-hit Pulse Blade combo will leave the Test AC extremely vulnerable, letting a single shot from a Linear Rifle instantly Stagger it.

Although, if we’re being honest, basically any AC will do the job. The Tester AC is one of the tamer units in ARMORED CORE VI, with a very limited tool kit. The most important thing when attempting this fight is to just keep practising: whether you’re using a Heavyweight AC or a nimble Lightweight one, you’ll soon figure out the best strategies for your build as you scrap the Tester again and again.

Other Ways to Quickly Obtain COAM

While not as lucrative and fast as the first method, there are a few other ways to scrounge up some extra COAM quickly in ARMORED CORE VI.

Alongside Destroy the Tester AC, there are several other relatively easy, low-risk missions that you can repeat again and again for easy COAM. That being said, if you have the right build and set-up, running Destroy the Tester is almost always going to net you more money in less time, but running different missions can help if you find playing the same fight over and over again a bit too repetitive.

The main missions to keep an eye out for are Attack the Dam Complex and Grid 135 Cleanup. The first mission is a little bit longer, with an average run coming in at just about 3 minutes, but it pays more than double at 190,000 COAM and you’ll have some allied units to help the mission go more smoothly. Meanwhile, the second mission pays less at 68,000 COAM but, with the right build, can likely be beaten far quicker because you’re just fighting MTs rather than the more tricky AC units.

Sell Parts for a Full COAM Refund

Sell Parts for a Full COAM Refund

The other main method of getting COAM quickly is to sell your old AC Parts in the Part Shop. When you do, it will completely refund the price of the part back into COAM – the COQUILLETT we mentioned earlier, for example, sells for 35,000, the same price you purchase it for – and take it out of your inventory. This is great for testing out new AC Parts, especially those with a massive impact on your builds such as the Leg type. If you aren’t jiving with the Tank Legs you just bought and feel like trying out the Reverse Joints, instead, just sell the part and get your 280,000 COAM back, no questions asked.

Despite being an easy source of COAM, you won’t have an infinite amount of parts to sell. You can get a steady stream of new parts for free in the early game by completing Training Missions, which you could sell if none of them fit your playstyle. However, because you can simply buy back anything you want again in the future, there is very little risk of flogging some of your unused parts in the early game.

Those were all the easiest and quickest ways to earn a lot of COAM early in ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON
