10 Best and Most Expensive Pokémon TCG Twilight Masquerade Cards

If you'd like to know what the 10 most expensive Pokemon cards from the Twilight Masquerade set in the Scarlet and Violet era are, then check out this guide for a compressive list including prices. Twilight Masquerade takes the Pokemon TCG to the region of Kitakami with a new batch of trainers and Pokemon, such as the lovable Ogrepon.

10 Best and Most Expensive Pokemon TCG Twilight Masquerade CardsThe Pokemon Trading Card Game has arrived on the isle of Kitakami with the next Scarlet and Violet expansion, Twilight Masquerade. This is the sixth mainline expansion in the Scarlet and Violet era of the TCG and it’s taking a break from the mainland of Paldea to visit Kitakami, the Japanese-inspired region from the Teal Mask DLC. This, of course, means that Twilight Masquerade is focused heavily on the wild Pokemon of Kitakami, including the headlining Legendary Pokemon, Ogrepon, which has multiple different cards based on its various elemental masks.

Twilight Masquerade has 226 new cards to collect, including 58 cards of Ace Spec rarity or higher. From Illustration Rares of fan favourite Pokemon like Eevee and Applin to beautiful Trainer cards depicting some of the most important characters in the Scarlet and Violet Treasures of Area Zero DLCs, there’s a lot to love with this set. However, as always, some cards are going to be worth more than others, whether it be their power, artistry, or popularity.

Here are the 10 most expensive cards in the latest Pokemon Scarlet and Violet TCG set, Twilight Masquerade.

Twilight Masquerade

10 Most Expensive Pokémon TCG Twilight Masquerade Cards

Wellspring Mask Ogrepon ex, Special Illustration Rare (Alternative Art)

The first card on our list, and the tenth most expensive card in Twilight Masquerade, is our first, but not only, Ogrepon card. To be more specific, it’s the Special Illustration Rare variant of Wellspring Mask Ogrepon ex, the Water Type version of Ogrepon. This is one of four Ogrenpon ex cards in Twilight Masquerade, with the Hearthflame Mask and Cornerstone Mask narrowly missing out on a spot in the top ten. Wellspring Mask Ogrepon ex is number 213/226 in the set list.

Illustrated by Yano Keiji, Wellspring Mask Ogrepon’s Alternative Art focuses on the more sombre appearance of the Wellspring Mask, drawing on the cool blue colours to create a tranquil card compared to Ogrepon’s other variants.

As for how much Wellspring Mask Ogrepon ex’s Special Illustration Rare is going to cost you, it currently has a market price of $32 on TCGPlayer

Lana’s Aid, Special Illustration Rare (Alternative Art)

The ninth most expensive Twilight Masquerade card is our first Trainer Support card and it’s the Alternative Art version of Lana’s Aid. Despite not being from Paldea or Kitakami, Lana is one of the most memorable Trainers from Alola and now she’s got a fitting Alternative Art to match. This card is number 219 in the Twilight Masquerade setlist.

Lana’s Aid Alternative Art is illustrated by Toshinoa Aoki, who’s probably best known for their Sandy Shocks ex and Iron Hands ex Alternative Art cards from Paradox Rift. This card manages to capture Lana’s more docile and laid-back personality as she plays around near a stream, accompanied by a Corphish and some Surskit. While it isn’t the most exciting illustration, it’s one of the best in Twilight Masquerade at setting a scene.

The Special Illustration Rare version of Lana’s Aid is going for $33 on TCGPlayer, as of a few days after the set’s release.

Kieran, Special Illustration Rare (Alternative Art)

Following on from Lana’s Aid is Kieran’s Special Illustration Rare, our second Support card to make the list and the eighth most expensive card in the Pokemon TCG Twilight Masquerade expansion. Kieran is, arguably, the main star of the Scarlet and Violet DLC, and his Alternative Art is number 218 in the overall Twilight Masquerade setlist.

Kieran’s first Special Illustration in the TCG depicts him during the Teal Mask where he’s still quite timid, something which artist Teeziro (the illustrator behind all three Past Paradox Alternative Arts from Temporal Forces) envisions perfectly. This card is one of the nicest in Twilight Masquerade as it depicts Kieran visiting one of Kitakami’s nighttime festivals, with the high contrast colour palette and charming imagery creating a warm and nostalgic card.

If you’re curious how much Kieran’s Special Illustration Rare is going to cost you, it has a market price of $35 right now on TCGPlayer

Eevee, Illustration Rare

Next up is the only regular Illustration Rare to make the list from Twilight Masquerade and that’s the Illustration Rare for Eevee. Usually, Eevee is often overshadowed in the TCG by its many, many evolutions but now, in TWM, it gets its chance to shine. This is the seventh most expensive card from the set and number 188 in the setlist.

Narumi Sato’s soft and fuzzy art style is a perfect fit for Eevee, especially when there are several stuffed into one cuddly image. Eevee’s Illustration Rare is playful and cosy, perfectly showcasing why Eevee is such a lovable Pokemon all around the world. Overall, it’s just a really sweet card that lovers of cute Pokemon are going to want to get into their collection.

Despite being the only regular Illustration Rare card on the most expensive card list, Eevee’s position as one of the series’ most popular Pokemon (alongside its lovely art) carries it to a rather high market price. Eevee’s Special Illustration Rare is selling for around $42 on TCGPlayer

Buddy-Buddy Poffin, Hyper Rare

Just narrowly missing out on the top five is a rather surprising entry, the Hyper Rare variant of the Buddy-Buddy Poffin Item Support card. This version of the Buddy-Buddy Poffin is one of the final cards in Twilight Masquerade, coming in at number 223 in the setlist.

As a Hyper Rare card – or, more commonly, just known as a gold card – it comes with all the usual gilded finishings: golden borders, golden trim, and golden texture, all surrounding a very appealing-looking set of poffins. In the TCG, using a Buddy-Buddy Poffin card will allow you to search your deck for up to two Basic Pokemon who have 70 HP or less before putting them directly onto your bench. This is a great effect for getting a headstart in the early game or for decks primarily composed of lower-health Pokemon.

Even though they’re some of the rarest cards in the Pokemon TCG, gold cards rarely become some of the most valuable additions to a set. However, because of Buddy-Buddy Poffin’s potent effect in the early game of the TCG, it has managed to surpass the odds and currently has a market price of over $43

Teal Mask Ogrepon ex, Special Illustration Rare (Alternative Art)

Next, we’re entering the top five most valuable Twilight Masquerade cards in the Pokémon TCG and what better place to start than with the main mascot of Twilight Masquerade (and the Teal Mask DLC in general), Teal Mask Ogrepon. Specifically, the fifth most expensive TWM card is Teal Mask Ogrepon ex Special Illustration Rare, which comes in at number 211 in the setlist.

This is another card illustrated by Yano Keiji and it manages to capture one of Ogrepon’s other sides when compared to their illustration for the Wellspring Mask. Rather than the cool blue colour palette we saw at the top of the list, Teal Mask Ogrepon’s Alt Art is vibrant and bright, bringing an energy that’s inherent to Ogrepon’s default style of play. It’s also one of the best cards at depicting the charm of the Terastalised phenomenon.

As the most recognisable Pokémon from the Kitakami region, it makes sense that the Teal Mask Ogrepon is also the most valuable version of Ogrepon. As of a few days after release, Teal Mask Ogrepon ex Special Illustration Rare has a market price of $45 on TCGPlayer

Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex, Special Illustration Rare (Alternative Art)

The fourth most expensive Twilight Masquerade card spot belongs to none other than Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex’s Special Illustration Rare. Bloodmoon Ursaluna was a special reintroduction of a divergent evolution from Pokémon Legends: Arceus into the Teal Mask DLC and it’s also one of the pack art Pokemon. In terms of the setlist, Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex’s Alternative Art card is number 216/226.

Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex’s Special Illustration Rare is a much more humourous take on the usually fearsome Ursaluna. Taking inspiration from everyone’s favourite bear, Winnie the Pooh, this illustration by MINAMINAMI Take depicts Ursaluna enjoying some honey in the companion of several smaller Pokémon. It adds a softness to a usually hard-headed Pokémon and it’s a very blissful card any collector would love to have.

The Alternative Art version of Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex is currently selling for a market price of $61, marking the start of the rapid price hike for the last half of the Twilight Masquerade card list.

Perrin, Special Illustration Rare (Alternative Art)

In third place, we have yet another Trainer Support card, this time being the photographer Perrin in her Special Illustration Rare card. This is easily one of the best Supporter cards in the set from an artistic perspective, with it coming in at number 220 in the Twilight Masquerade setlist.

Perrin was one of the most popular new trainers introduced in Kitakami and this card from GIDORA – a very talented illustrator known for several other impressive Trainer cards like Alt Art Morty from Temporal Forces – portrays that wonderfully. Between the crisp colours, the creative composition, and the clean art style, it’s a very beautiful card. Perhaps the best part about this card, though, is the fact that it’s a story card that pairs perfectly with the Growlithe Illustration Rare, with this card being Growlithe’s perspective as it looks up at its trainer.

If you want to pick up Perrin’s Special Illustration Rare, you can grab it for around $77. Additionally, if you’d like to complete the set and get the Illustration Rare Growlithe which matches Perrin’s Alt Art, it has a market price of about $12.

Carmine, Special Illustration Rare (Alternative Art)

The second most expensive card in Twilight Masquerade is Carmine’s Special Illustration Rare, jumping ahead of her brother Kieran by leaps and bounds. Despite missing out on number one, this is still an excellent card which matches the quality of all the other Supporter cards in this list. If you want to look for it, Carmine’s Special Illustration Rare is number 217 is the setlist.

Similar to Kieran’s Alternative Art, Carmine’s has the fledgling trainer dressed in her festival gear and enjoying the nighttime atmosphere. However, in contrast to the deep conflicting neon colours of Kieran’s card, illustrator En Morikura has bathed Carmine’s card in a much softer light, one which makes the overall atmosphere of the card a lot more friendly and appealing, mirroring the role Carmine plays in the Teal Mask. Aside from that, the composition is wonderful, the art is clean and distinct and, overall, it’s just a really good card.

Carmine’s Special Illustration Rare is the most expensive Trainer Support card in Twilight Masquerade, sitting at a current market price of $92. However, even though Carmine just missed out on the top spot, there’s quite a margin between it and the card at the top of the list.

Greninja ex, Special Illustration Rare (Alternative Art)

Finally, at number one on the most expensive Twilight Masquerade cards list for the Pokémon TCG is the Special Illustration Rare variant of Greninja ex. This version of Greninja ex is a Terastalised Pokémon, meaning that it is actually a Fighting type, something that the illustration plays into. As for where it sits in the card list, it’s number 214 in the Twilight Masquerade setlist.

Once you take a look at the Greninja ex Alternative Art, it’s clear why it deserves its place at the top spot. It depicts a Terrsastilised Greninja in a moment of energetic flurry, the background highlighted by colourful splashes of paint. The contrast between Greninja’s cool blue tones and the warm palette of the backdrop makes it feel ripped straight from the heat of battle while the texture of the card in real life will make it all stand out. It’s one of the best Special Illustration Rares from the Scarlet and Violet era and is well worthy of a spot in your collection.

After the relatively cheap set list from Temporal Forces, Greninja ex’s Special Illustration Rare is a return to the standard where the most expensive card in the set is head and shoulders above the rest. If you want to own the Alternative Art version of Greninja ex from Twilight Masquerade, get ready to fork over about $125, which is its current market price on TCGPlayer.
