10 Best and Most Expensive Cards in Pokemon Stellar Crown | Pokemon TCG

Stellar Crown is the next major expansion for the Scarlet and Violet era of the Pokemon TCG and here are the 10 best and most expensive cards from it. Based on the Indigo Disc DLC from the Scarlet and Violet games, Stellar Crown has 175 cards to collect and introduces rainbow cards back to the TCG with Stellar Tera Pokemon.

A new era has begun in the Pokemon Trading Card Game with the addition of Scarlet and Violet’s seventh mainline set, Stellar Crown. This expansion focuses on the new Pokemon and advancements brought in the Indigo Disc DLC for the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games, with the main focus being on the introduction of new Stellar Tera cards as well as the arrival of Terapagos., a beautiful new Mythical Pokemon, to the TCG.

With 175 cards to collect, Stellar Crown is actually one of the smaller sets in terms of the overall card list size in the Scarlet and Violet era. However, there are plenty of cards to get excited about in Stellar Crown. There’s a batch of six new Special Illustration Rares to hunt down, the introduction of the Stellar Tera type, many interesting combinations focused on stalling out your opponent, and several new ACE SPEC Trainer cards to play around with.

Here are the 10 best and most valuable cards in the newest Pokemon Trading Card Game set, Stellar Crown.

10 Most Valuable Pokemon Stellar Crown Cards

Stellar Crown is the seventh mainline set of the Scarlet and Violet era of the Pokemon Trading Card Game. With 142 cards in the base set list and an additional 33 cards of Illustration Rare, Special Illustration Rare, or Hyper Rare rarities, there’s a good mixture of cards to choose from.

We’ll primarily be using the price charts on TCGPlayer to determine where to rank each of these Stellar Crown cards. Do note though that, as time goes on, the prices of these cards will fluctuate, with individual cards rising or declining in price. However, no matter what, these ten cards should stay as the most valuable in the set.

The 10 best cards in the Pokemon TCG Stellar Crown expansion are:

  1. Terapagos ex, Special Illustration Rare
  2. Lacey, Special Illustration Rare
  3. Hydrapple ex, Special Illustration Rare
  4. Squirtle, Illustration Rare
  5. Galvantuala ex, Special Illustration Rare
  6. Bulbasaur, Illustration Rare
  7. Briar, Special Illustration Rare
  8. Terapagos ex, Hyper Rare (Gold Card)
  9. Dachsbun ex, Special Illustration Rare
  10. Area Zero Underdepths, Hyper Rare (Gold Card)

10 Best Cards in Stellar Crown

Area Zero Underdepths, Hyper Rare

A Stadium Card rarely makes it onto the list of the ten most valuable cards in a Pokemon TCG set but the Hyper Rare version of the Area Zero Undepths wants to change that. This version of the Area Zero Undepths is number 174/142 and is one of three Hyper Rare (gold) cards in Stellar Crown.

Area Zero Underdepths is a powerful new Stadium card which can completely change the way a game is played by allowing you to have up to 8 Pokemon on your Bench, so long as you have a Tera Pokemon in play. For TCG players, this card is a game changer, allowing you to benefit from more passive Pokemon Abilities per turn or have more options to switch into, especially because it is very difficult to knock out a Tera Pokemon on the Bench. That level of new decision-making is what gives this card its value, easily earning it a place on a list of the best cards of Stellar Crown.

As for the price, Hyper Rare Area Zero Underdepths is currently going for around $20 on TCGPlayer, which is about $7 ahead of the eleventh-best card in Stellar Crown, the Hyper Rare variant of Bravery Charm.

Dachsbun ex, Special Illustration Rare

The ninth place on our list is taken up by the Dachsbun ex-Special Illustration Rare, which is the first, but certainly not the last, card of that rarity to make the ranking. At number 169/175 in the Stellar Crown set list, Daschbun ex is one of the four Pokemon to get a Special Illustration Rare variant.

Illustrated by Yuu Nishida, a long-time illustrator for the TCG who is most well known for the Pikachu and Morpeko V-UNION cards, this version of Dachsbun ex has the lovable bread-dog lounging amongst an arrangement of delicious bread and pastries. Time to Chow Down, Dachsbun ex’s Ability, has some interesting applications in the TCG as it allows you to heal all damage off of your Evolution Pokemon once you evolve your Fidough into Dachsbun ex.

Dachsbun ex’s Special Illustration Rare is currently selling with a market price of around $23 to $25 on TCGPlayer, putting it just ahead of tenth place.

Terapagos ex, Hyper Rare

Next up on our list is the second gold card to make the top ten, the Hyper Rare variant of Terapagos ex. This majestic new Legendary Pokemon is the main mascot for both the Indigo Disc DLC and the Stellar Crown expansion. All three versions of Terapagos ex – normal, Special Illustration Rare, and Hyper Rare – are some of the more valuable cards in Stellar Crown, with the gold Hyper Rare version coming in at number 173/142 on the set list.

Once again, a big reason why Terapagos ex is so sought after is because of its value in the TCG. As a Basic Colourless Tera Pokemon, Terapagos can benefit from a lot of specific Abilities and effects such as the Sparkling Crystal ACE SPEC card or Bouffalant’s Curly Wall. Additionally, pair it with the aforementioned Area Zero Underdepths Stadium and you’re looking at over 240 damage for only 2 Colourless Energy if you can put 8 Pokemon onto the Bench. Terapagos ex is very strong and the Hyper Rare variant is only slightly more expensive than the regular Terapgos ex, making it a nice pick-up for those wanting to make their deck look a bit more premium.

Terapgos ex Hyper Rare is currently selling for around $25, which is about $10 more than the standard Terapagos ex and way cheaper than the Special Illustration Rare version of Terapgos ex (which we will talk about later).

Briar, Special Illustration Rare

Briar’s Special Illustration Rare makes its appearance as the seventh most valuable Stellar Crown card and it is also the first Supporter Card on the list. Briar is one of four new Supporters to join the Pokemon TCG in Stellar Crown and she, alongside Lacey, has the honour of receiving an Alternative Art variant, with Briar’s being number 171/142 in the set.

Illustrated by DOM, an artist who is arguably best known for the Deoxys VSTAR Trainer Gallery from Crown Zenith or Temporal Forces’ Eri Alternative Art, Briar’s Special Illustration Rare takes great advantage of lightning to make everything really pop.

Special Illustration Rare Briar is currently going for around $27 on TCG Player but prices for this card have reached as high as $40, so be aware.

Bulbasaur, Illustration Rare

Just narrowly missing out on the top five is a familiar face from all the way back in Kanto. Bulbasaur’s Illustration Rare is only one of two regular Illustration Rares to make it onto the list. Interestingly, this card is the only way to obtain Bulbasaur in Stellar Crown as it isn’t part of the regular Grass type set list, despite Venasaur ex being present. This version of Bulbasaur is number 143/142.

Bulbasaur’s Illustration Rare was illustrated by the talented Orca, who started illustrating for the Pokemon TCG with the Illustration Rare variant of Lickitung back in Temporal Forces. While all three cards have different artists, the Bulbasaur and Squirtle Illustration Rare cards from Stellar Crown are very similar to the Charmander promo card from the Obsidian Flames ETB, making a cute little trio of the three Kanto starters just hanging out.

As expected of any Generation 1 card, the Bulbasaur Illustration Rare is going for a decent of change and, as of writing, will run you about $30.

Galvantula ex, Special Illustration Rare

We’ve reached the top five best Stellar Crown cards in the Pokemon TCG and, at number five, we have the Special Illustration Rare version of Galvantula ex. Galvantula is not only one of the four Pokemon featured on the Stellar Crown pack art but it is also one of the first Stellar Tera Pokemon, a special kind of Tera card with a pretty rainbow border and line art. The Illustration Rare variant of Galvantula ex is number 168/142.

Just like the regular version of Galvantula ex, the Alternative Art variant still has the beautiful rainbow border which denotes this card as a Stellar Tera Pokemon. This rainbow effect is threaded throughout the entire card, giving Galvantula a bright and explosive wash of colours and textures. MARINA Chikazawa also illustrated the Joltik Illustration Rare for Stellar Crown and the two Electric spider Pokemon make a wonderful pair.

Currently, Galvantula ex’s Special Illustration Rare has a market price of $37 and rising. Meanwhile, if you want to complete the pair, Joltik is selling for around $4.

Squirtle, Illustration Rare

Joining Bulbasaur as the only other regular Illustration Rare to make the top ten list is, of course, Squirtle, the other lovable and nostalgic Kanto Starter. Similar to Bulbasaur, pulling the Illustration Rare variant of Squirtle is the only way you’ll get it in Stellar Crown as it isn’t part of the regular Water types, despite the addition of Blastoise ex. This version of Squirtle is number 148/142 in the Stellar Crown set list.

As of writing, Squirtle’s Illustration Rare is going for upwards of $40, making it one of the most expensive regular Illustration Rare cards in the entirety of the Scarlet and Violet era of the Pokemon TCG.

Hydrapple ex, Special Illustration Rare

Breaking into the top three, we have the Illustration Rare version of Hydrapple ex. Hydrapple is a new evolution for Dipplin introduced in the Indigo Disc and it’s one of the most memorable Pokemon from both of the Scarlet and Violet DLCs. In the TCG, this is Hydrapple’s first appearance and its Special Illustration Rare – which is number 167/142 – is one of the most sought-after cards in the set for both collectors and players.

The illustrator behind Hydrapple ex’s Alternative Art, Teeziro, has previously illustrated several other Special Illustration Rares, including Kieran’s from Twilight Masquerade, but this card is very different. In this card, Hydrapple is depicted as a sketchy drawing on some sort of ancient cave wall, its massive body surrounded by floating Applins in a strange, ritualistic display. It is a very weird card but, at the same time, also a very captivating one with a style not usually seen in the Pokemon TCG. Hydrapple ex is also a fairly strong card thanks to its high health and Ripening Charge ability.

Hydrapple ex’s Special Illustration Rare has a market price of $41, making it only slightly more expensive than Squirtle. However, as a highly sought-after Alternative Art, expect this price to fluctuate somewhat over the coming weeks.

Lacey, Special Illustration Rare

The Special Illustration Rare variant of Lacey, one of the Elite Four members of the Indigo Disc, has risen to the second position on our list, just missing out on the top spot. Female Supporter Alternative Art cards almost always make the top five and Lacey’s is no different, with the card itself sitting at number 172/142 in the Stellar Crown card list.

Souichirou Gunjima, the illustrator behind Lacey’s Special Illustration Rare, was also behind the energetic Alternative Art for Revaroom ex back in Obsidian Flames. This time, they’ve managed to capture a moment of tranquil debate between the Indigo Disc Elite Four members. While simple, the pleasing compositional and bright splash of colours from each character makes it a very pleasant card to look at. It doesn’t hurt that Lacey is a fairly decent Supporter, either, allowing you to shuffle your hand back into your deck and draw either 4 or 8 cards.

Lacey’s Illustration Rare has arguably the most fluctuation in terms of price, with a market price of $50 but with sales as high as $100.

Terapagos ex, Special Illustration Rare

Last, but certainly not least, we have the best and most valuable card in the Stellar Crown expansion for the Pokemon TCG and that is the Special Illustration Rare version of Terapagos ex. As mentioned previously, Terapagos is both the mascot of Stellar Crown and a very viable Pokemon competitively, making all of its variants very in demand, with the Alternative Art version being the most enticing for collectors. Terapgos ex Special Illustration Rare is number 170/142 in the Stellar Crown card list.

This gorgeous mural-esque card is illustrated by Saboteri, the same artist behind the fourth slot on this very list, Squirtle’s Illustration Rare. In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Terapagos is an ancient Legendary Pokemon and this card captures that mythology perfectly. With the rainbow border of the Stellar Tera Type, as well as the wash of colours across the entire card, you have one of the best-looking Alternative Arts in the Scarlet and Violet era of the TCG.

If you want to add this version of Terapgos ex to your collection, get ready to shell out some serious cash as this card is way more expensive than any other card in Stellar Crown. The Special Illustration Rare version of Terapgos ex currently has a market price of $125.
