Kamaeru: A Frog Rescue

Kamaeru: A Frog Rescue will be releasing June 8th on Steam and Nintendo Switch. Cute little frog lovers, this one’s for you! You’ll be playing as a kind soul helping restore your childhood by transforming it into a frog sanctuary. In this sanctuary you’ll be able to breed and raise frogs and attract rare species by decorating your land with cute decor and native plants. There’s over 500 species to collect, so don’t be too worried about beating the game quickly. By revamping the land through a process called paludiculture, you’ll even be able to sell the goods and pickings to further your restoration. Make sure to snap photos of your frogs and their visitors to grow your frogedex.

Tracks of Thought

Releasing June 10th on SteamTracks of Thought is a clever little RPG game that adapts to your personality as you progress. In fact, the ladybug’s personality (your character) is directly defined by the choices you make in the first train car. After your train ride home passes through a mysterious tunnel, it seems like suddenly nobody can remember why they’re on the train or where it’s headed. You’ll have to interact with all the passengers to find out what’s really going on. Resolve conflicts by playing cards and get personal with your fellow bugs. This game focuses on resolving conflict through gentle, clear communication strategies. A lovely message to have demonstrated by a cozy game that can ultimately help you out in the real world.

Sunnyside

The original release date for this game was May 24th, so I had already mentioned it in last month’s cozy picks. I am still including it in this month’s picks, but feel free to read last month’s article to see what other games you may have missed.

Sunnyside will be releasing on June 14th on Steam. It is labeled as a unique cozy game simulator. Rather than being the typical 8-bit or hand-drawn style that cozy games seem to revolve around, this game is 3D and more realistic. You’ll be creating your dream homestead in the heart of the Japan countryside. Sunnyside offers over 100 different crops to grow, 27 characters to befriend, completely customizable character settings, lots of cooking recipes, and a realistic economy. One of the biggest points of the game is to make a 21st century farming sim by introducing a cellphone into the gameplay. There are even secrets to be discovered like any other farming sim. There is so much that this game holds, so checking it out to see every detail for yourself is a great idea.

Tavern Talk

If you loved Coffee Talk as much as I did, you absolutely have to check out Tavern Talk releasing June 20th on Steam. The layout of the game is extremely similar, but Tavern Talk takes place in a Dungeons and Dragons type of world – no humans allowed! Of course, you’ll be playing as the Wayfarer’s Inn owner where you’ll be busy with learning more about your patrons, forging quests, mixing magical drinks, and saving the world. The graphics are beautiful like a storybook come to life and the story itself is nothing short of an adventure fairytale. As you get to know your mythical family of outcasts, you’ll slowly connect the dots to uncover the secrets of an ancient evil threatening the land – and how to stop it.

Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit

Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit will be releasing June 26th on Google Play and the App Store brought to you Netflix Games. This the first mobile game I’ve included in a cozy picks list before, but considering how loved Cozy Grove is, how could I not! The only downside to this game is a Netflix subscription is required to play. Once again, you’ll play as a Spirit Scout on a haunted island where you’ll befriend some ghostly bears, help them rediscover their pasts, and uncover hidden secrets along the way. This sequel will include new characters, an astral projection multiplayer mode, and real-time daily quests for you to divulge in.

The multiplayer mode will allow you to exchange gifts with other Spirit Scouts around the globe.
