It's finally prime cozy season and boy, are the games ready to be snuggled up with this month. September is packed to the brim with games and has a huge focus on the 12th for releases. There's a little something for everyone - so pick your favorite and get cozy this fall!

Cozy Games to Play This Fall (2024).

If you thought that the cozy output this year has been a little slow, now it’s time to lock in. There are so many games coming out this month that there is bound to be something to catch your eye. I have been waiting for the fall/winter season since the year started because I know that’s when the cozy corner of the gaming world shines the most – and it did not disappoint. It’s time to get those wishlists ready and take a look at this month’s cozy releases.

Check out last month’s cozy content while you’re at it!

Chef RPG

Releasing on September 12th, Chef RPG will be available to play on Steam. While it may look like another average farming sim, it holds so much more potential. Rather than farming and raising cattle, you will be hunting, harvesting, and shopping for fresh ingredients to help grow your new restaurant. Aid, befriend, and romance locals along the way as you help revive the once bustling and touristy town. As someone that loves to cook and will always try out a new farming sim, I feel like this game is a new taste of cozy play.

Expand your restaurant to its fullest potential on your own terms.

Garden Witch Life

Also coming on September 12th is Garden Witch Life and will be available across all platforms. The visuals of this game is so nostalgic to me and makes me feel like a little kid again just by looking at it. You’ll be playing as a big city witch that recently lost their job – but not to fret! Now is the time to restart your life and make it how you want on the tiny island you’ve moved to. You can decorate your tree house to your liking, grow a magical garden, care for cute critters, and make friends along the way. Your magical garden will even be able to produce ingredients for some cozy crafting.

Use your magical garden harvest for your special recipes and potions.

Shokudo Underworld

Another cozy cooking focused game will be released on September 15th on SteamShokudo Underworld is a cutely crafted sushi management game where your main goal is to create a legendary chawanmushi – a Japanese egg custard. Satisfy customers with your cooking skills, collect some questionable ingredients from the local creatures, and expand your business.

Shinehill

Shinehill is another twist on your typical farming sim by tying in an extraterrestrial storyline. Explore the world of Shinehill by farming, fishing, cooking, and charming the locals. Your biggest mission: try not to reveal yourself or your galactic mission on finding the true threat to the planet. There’s dungeons to explore and mini games to play in this cozy 2D escape. It will be available to play on September 18th on Steam

Tiny Glade

This is probably one of the most anticipated releases of the cozy season. Tiny Glade will be releasing on September 23rd on Steam. This is a tiny game of doodling castles and let your creativity run free. There’s absolutely no requirements for this game. It’s very passive and only focuses on creating a beautiful and cozy community. With no mistakes to be made there’s endless possibilities to explore.

There's so much creative freedom to play with while creating your dream castle.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

Echoes of Wisdom will be coming to Nintendo Switch on September 26th and oh my is it cozy. Now is our chance to finally play as Zelda herself! On a rescue mission for Hyrule and Link, Zelda must team up with the mythical Tri creature to save the day. This game is worth the huge commotion it’s been getting because it’s the first mainline Zelda game that actually stars Zelda as the main playable protagonist! It follows the same cozy art style of Nintendo’s remake of Link’s Awakening which is a personal favorite of mine in the Zelda franchise.
