Over the years, the flagship show of the WWE, Monday Night Raw, has graced our eardrums with some very epic opening themes to welcome all of us to the show. The red brand of the WWE Universe has been on the air since 1993 and has continued to display its swag on the airwaves of television. How can anyone forget Monday Night Raw during the Attitude Era? We got two words for you…you can’t. Here are my five personal favorite opening themes for Monday Night Raw.
Across The Nation
By far, the single greatest track for Monday Night Raw programming. It just slams you onto the mat and then decides to do it once more for good measure. The song was done by The Union Underground, and was used by the WWE for the Raw brand from 2002 to 2006, and was simply jam-packed with a hard-hitting beat that would make any watcher pumped up to watch the show. Simply an absolute treat to listen to.
Thorn In Your Eye
This song was the ultimate anthem of the WWE during the Attitude Era. Nobody could withstand the ground-shaking, electric-vide-making synergy that this song produced through the television speakers and into one’s home. The theme song complimented Raw’s edgy and gritty persona at the time perfectly. The song was performed by The WWE Superstars & Slam Jam.
…To Be Loved
This song came out during the second half of the Ruthless Aggression Era and was just as hot and catchy as Across the Nation. The song was done by Papa Roach and was Raw’s opening theme from 2006 to 2009. I absolutely enjoyed the revving-up sound at the beginning. It felt like you were about to take a thrill ride while watching the show. Also, the opening intro while this song played was nicely packaged.
Raw Opening Theme (Roger Tallman)
Of course, the original Raw theme was going to be on the list. Used between 1993 to 1995, this iconic opening theme introduced the audience to the event that was about to take place. The sirens going off mixed in with the instruments was a nice touch. The opening theme to Monday Night Raw during this time was done by Roger Tallman.
Burn It To The Ground
Yes! Let’s start bobbing our heads to the beat of this heavy song! Burn It To The Ground, was used by Raw for its opener from 2009 to 2012, and was performed by the rock band Nickelback. The talent that the WWE had during this time was pretty good as well, so the intro was heightened with them involved.
