Sunny days and brand-new experiences for us gamers to try out, what is there not to like? Enough talk, let’s check out 5 major game releases coming in June 2022!
Fall Guys
The platformer battle royale is coming to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S and One on June 21, switching to a free-to-play strategy and featuring cross-play.
In Fall Guys, up to 60 players compete against each other in multiple mini-games and obstacle courses. As the rounds progress, players get eliminated, until the last player standing gets crowned the winner.
For me, Fall Guys is one of the most fun family-friendly type games available right now. Its wacky mechanics and colorful environments make for a great gaming experience, alone or with a couple of friends. The simplicity of the game allows for a quick familiarization with its controls.
Also, I think that the level design is top-notch, combined with the incredibly addicting mini-games. And when you get eliminated, simply queue back up and have some more fun. Console users, you are in for a treat with this one, trust me.
Mario Strikers: Battle League
The football game published by Nintendo is coming on June 10.
Shining away from realism, the five-on-five football matches feature the main characters present in the Mario franchise. As for mechanics, the game allows the players to pass, shoot and tackle, giving the possibility to utilize certain items to create advantages.
As a fan of the Mario franchise and sports, specifically football, this is a match made in heaven for me. Although I admit the character list available for selection is a bit short, this game looks very solid.
Having played the original game, I feel that this is definitely a winning formula, and Nintendo just have to stick to what they know best, in terms of gameplay and graphics. For those reasons, I chose to include Mario Strikers: Battle League in this selection of major game releases coming in June 2022.
Wreckfest
What a great month for Switch users. Wreckfest is coming to the Nintendo Switch on June 21.
Featuring multiple modes, including banger racing and demolition derby, the player controls a car, with the goal to win the race or destroy the other cars. Wreckfest uses a game engine based on soft-body damage modeling, which allows for visually realistic physical simulations.
Having played numerous hours of Wreckfest, I can safely say that it is one of the best racing games available. Although the Forza franchise is arguably the best when it comes to the racing genre, Wreckfest offers something that Forza doesn’t, carnage and destruction.
The chaotic and physically realistic gameplay makes for an incredibly fun experience, where you just try to destroy everything on your path to victory. It is an amazing experience, and I hope you follow my advice and give it a try, you won’t regret it. And for that, Wreckfest earns a spot in this list of major game releases.
Pro Cycling Manager 2022
The cycling management series is coming back for another run, releasing on June 9.
Pro Cycling Manager 2022 features three game modes, Career, One-off Race, and Track Cycling. The most played mode is Career, where the player can manage a cycling team of their choice.
In my opinion, cycling is truly an underrated sport. Just like Pro Cycling Manager 2021, especially the Career mode. The management depth and freedom given to the player are unprecedented in these types of games, making the game really shine in the simulator genre.
If 2021’s entry is any indication, and If the developers manage to improve on what’s already a great game, then Pro Cycling Manager 2022 has definitely earned its spot in this selection of major game releases coming in June 2022.
Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course
Serving as an expansion to Cuphead, The Delicious Last Course is releasing on June 30.
The run and gun shooter features levels containing multiple different bosses. Cuphead includes two main difficulties, the normal mode, and the expert mode. It can also be played as a two-player cooperative experience.
Although it can be a tricky game to get into at first, the effort gets 100% rewarded. Cuphead’s beautiful art style combined with its challenging and stimulating gameplay make for one run and gun experience every gamer should try at least once.
The developers managed to find the perfect balance between an exciting 2D platformer and the cartoon art style. I have tremendously high expectations for this new expansion pack. For those reasons, I chose to include this upcoming Cuphead DLC pack in my selection of major game releases.
Another month, another batch of amazing gaming experiences right around the corner.
