This month there’s a great range of scary movies releasing. The Suicide Squad David Dastmalchain stars in a 70s inspired found footage film, the original Ghostbusters team up with the new and Imaginary friend’s attack. Imaginary

Imaginary is scheduled to release on 8th March 2024 to theatres.

First on our list of the biggest horror movies releasing this March is Imaginary. Produced by Blumhouse Productions and released by Lionsgate, this film brings scares through the classic childhood imaginary friends. Imaginary is directed by Jeff Wadlow, the writer-director of Truth or Dare, Fantasy Island and Kick-Ass 2. DeWanda Wise (She’s Gotta Have it), Tom Payne (The Walking Dead), Betty Buckley (Carrie, The Happening, Split) and Verónica Falcón (Ozark, The Forever Purge).

Returning to her childhood home, Jessica is reunited with her teddy bear, Chauncey. Her stepdaughter Alice becomes close with the bear. But as their games become darker and more disturbing,  Jessica comes to release that the eerie toy may harbour something evil.

Immaculate

Immaculate is scheduled to release on 22nd March 2024 to theatres.

Directed by Michael Mohan and written by Andrew Lobel, Immaculate is an upcoming psychological horror that stars Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria, Madame Web), Álvaro Morte (Money Heist, The Wheel of Time) and Benedetta Porcaroli (Baby).

Immaculate is set in an Italian convent. The picturesque countryside and friendly welcome seem perfect for the devout Cecilia who is offered a role there. However, her new home hides terrifying secrets.

Late Night with the Devil

Late Night with the Devil is scheduled to be released to theatres on 22nd March 2024.

David Dastmalchian (The Suicide Squad, Dune) leads this Found Footage horror set on the stage of a late-night 1970s talk show.  The film has received high praise, with Stephen King tweeting ‘it’s absolutely brilliant. I couldn’t take my eyes off it. Your results may vary, as they say, but I urge you to watch it when you can.’

The film is written and directed by brothers Colin and Cameron Cairnes and shows a recovered tape of the fictional ‘Night Owls with Jack Delroy.’ Terror unfolds on the Halloween episode, where Jack Delroy (Dastmalchian) interviews Dr June Ross-Mitchell (Laura Gordon), a parapsychologist, and Lilly (Ingrid Torelli), the survivor of a Satanic mass suicide. With high praise and an interesting premise, it’s one of our biggest March horror movies.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is scheduled to be released to theatres on 22nd March 2024.

With a massive and star-studded cast comes the latest Ghostbusters movie, Frozen Empire. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Annie Potts reprise their roles. Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard, James Acaster, Patton Oswalt, and Kumail Nanjiani also join for the comedy. With such a strong cast and a great returning franchise, it is undoubtedly one of the biggest horror films to be released this March.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire joins the Spengler Family, who move to the New York Firehouse of the original. With help from the original Ghostbusters, they must save the world from a new ice age after an ancient artifact unleashes a new evil force.

Mickey’s Mouse Trap

Mickey’s Mouse Trap is scheduled to be released to theatres in March 2024, with a specific release date yet to be announced.

Horror-comedy Mickey’s Mouse Trap joins the trend of old properties entering the public domain and being converted into slashers. Much like Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, Steamboat Willie’s Mickey Mouse is getting a horror reimagining. It took less than a day after entering the public domain for the trailer to be released.

Director Jamie Bailery said to the Hollywood Reporter, ‘We just wanted to have fun with it all. I mean it’s Steamboat Willie’s Mickey Mouse murdering people.’ The film follows a group of friends celebrating a 21st birthday getting trapped, stalked, and murdered by a killer in a Mickey Mouse costume.
