Super Smash Bros Ultimate right now has over 70 characters from many different franchises. It’s only going to get bigger with Nintendo confirming 6 more characters coming in the second Fighters Pass. Here’s our predictions on who’ll be added in the second fighters pass for Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
Shantae Whips Up the Fight

The Shantae series is one of WayForward’s most popular series. The franchise doesn’t have many games, but each title alone has created a huge fanbase surrounding them. With WayForward in the works of the next Shantae game, adding her in Smash Ultimate would be a great promotional tactic. Shantae has also been one of the most requested Smash Bros characters since the Smash Bros Ballot in 2015.
Dante Starts the Party
Things are looking good for Capcom’s favorite devil hunter. Capcom and Nintendo have had a good working relationship for the most part and three of Capcom’s biggest characters are in Smash Ultimate. On top of that, the first three Devil May Cry games are available on the Nintendo Switch. Dante’s games are combat heavy and he’s been in previous fighting games. Dante has so many weapons and moves across his games to the point where the developers can essentially make multiple versions of him.
Crash Bandicoot Starts a Flurry

This Bandicoot has been off the radar until 2017, when he came back in a huge way. Vicarious Visions remaking the first 3 Crash Bandicoot games was a great way to reintroduce the series, along with Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled. The series currently has a wave of momentum that it hasn’t had in years. It’d be a great way to continue that momentum by adding Crash in Smash Ultimate. Crash was one of the biggest gaming icons during the 90’s, so putting him into Smash Bros would be a perfect fit.
Rex is Fired Up
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is one of the best games on the Nintendo Switch, so it’s weird when the main protagonist from that game isn’t in Smash Ultimate. Masahiro Sakurai has said that he wanted to put Rex in the game but couldn’t due to time constraints. There’s a Mii costume of Rex, but that alone shouldn’t count out his chances of getting in the second Fighters Pass. Rex could play much differently to Shulk and this could be a nice way to promote Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, which releases later this year.
