2024 WWE Backlash Event – 5 Predictions

This time around, WWE's Backlash will be coming to us from France. It will take place in Décines-Charpieu, Lyon Metropolis at the LDLC Arena on May 4th, 2024. The outcomes that took place at this year's WrestleMania will conclude at Backlash.

2024 WWE Backlash Event – 5 Predictions - Cover

After the 40th anniversary of WrestleMania, we find ourselves at the PLE that follows WrestleMania… which is Backlash. It is where the loose ends are tied together after the biggest event of the year has occurred. Just before Backlash, we had WWE’s annual Draft which shook the foundation of both Raw and SmackDown as well as NXT. The draft results will take effect after Backlash where all of the talent will be on their respective brands. Here are my five predictions for WWE’s Backlash

Cody Rhodes Defeats AJ Styles

This is going to be a match for the ages. Two Georgia boys throwing down for the biggest prize in Pro Wrestling. I believe that Cody Rhodes will win simply because his reign just happened at Mania. And this would be too close to him obtaining the championship to lose it. Also, he is the face of the WWE at the current moment. It will be a good match nevertheless who wins.

AJ Styles will challenge Cody Rhodes for the ultimate prize in the industry.

Damian Priest Beats Jey Uso

Jey Uso is still in search of his first singles title after dominating the tag team division with his brother Jimmy Uso. Jey pinned Jimmy at WrestleMania 40 in a sibling’s match. Jimmy was then beaten up by Solo because of this on SmackDown, basically kicked out of The Bloodline as a punishment for losing to Jey.

The world title is on the line.

The world title is on the line.

Just like Cody Rhodes, I can’t see Damian Priest losing his title so quickly after just winning it at WrestleMania 40 by cashing in his MITB briefcase. So, with that being the backbone of my way of thinking on the matter, I’m going with Damian Priest winning against Jey Uso at Backlash

Bayley Wins The Triple Threat Match

With Bayley turning face recently as a result of her feud against Damage Control… she has found herself picking up the Women’s Championship along the way. Now, her next matchup is against Naomi and Tiffany Stratton in a triple-threat match at Backlash
As much as “Tiffy Time” is catching on with the crowd, and she is becoming a staple in the women’s division on the main roster, and then there is the power of the glow Naomi returning to the company recently…I’m still going with Bayley to beat the two in the match. Because I don’t think the story between Damage Control and Bayley is completely over just yet. I think that feud will continue down the road because Iyo Sky has a rematch coming her way against Bayley for the championship.

The Kabuki Warriors Retain Gold

Although the deck looks stacked up against the defending Women’s Tag Team champions at Backlash…I think that they will retain their titles against Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill at Backlash. This will be the first major hurdle for The Kabuki Warriors since capturing the gold. With that being said, I think that at some point they have to prove why they are the champs in the first place. That will go down at Backlash

Can The Kabuki Warriors survive Jade and Belair?

Randy Orton Will Win For His Team

The Bloodline’s Solo and Tama will be in a tag team match between Randy Orton and Kevin Owens. The Bloodline’s newest member, Tama, helped beat down Kevin Owens recently, so KO will be looking to settle the score at Backlash against the newly added recruit of The Bloodline. This will be a chaotic match, to say the least, but Randy Orton will pick up the win for him and Owens by using the RKO on Tama. This may lead to a singles match between Randy and Solo later in the year.

The Bloodline is changing, and their first opponents are Kevin and Randy.
