Only a handful of games can brag about having their online services online for so long and with so many players, as Grand Theft Auto V can. And while at this point most of the time being put into GTA 5 is in fact online, you can bet there’s always someone playing the story mode for the first (or twentieth, no judgements here) time. If that’s the case and you’re looking to spice up your gameplay experience with cheat codes, as it is a GTA franchise tradition, we bring you the complete list of GTA 5 cheat codes throughout all platforms.

Yes, that means that no matter which platform you’re choosing to storm Los Santos in, we got you covered. No need to go to a separate page or next slide or any of that nonsense.

We should begin by reiterating what is already known when it comes to cheats on GTA 5 in particular: None of these cheats will work on GTA Online, as they’ve been disabled to avoid unearned advantages and also because of the in-game economic balance.

Let us begin, then, with the PC cheat list for GTA V.

To activate cheats for GTA 5 on PC, you must simply bring up Console, avid PC gamers are familiar with this, but just in case it doesn’t ring any bells, you can bring it up by pressing the ~ button while playing. Once you’ve pressed the button, a box where you can input a command will pop-up. Once it does, you simply type in one of the codes we list down below to activate your cheat.

NOTE: You should always keep in mind that activating cheats will immediately deactivate Achievements and Trophies until GTA 5 is restarted, so you might want to save before starting a cheat-induced rampage. Also, while on side missions some of the cheats won’t work at all, and if they do, they’ll prevent you from completing it at 100%.

Vehicle Cheats

Change the weather on GTA V

For all of you pluviophiles, at least you can make it rain in Los Santos.

These cheats will alter the environment and generally affect how things respond.

  • Change Weather: MAKEITRAIN
  • Slippery cars: SNOWDAY
    Like driving on an icy road.
  • Change Gravity: FLOATER
    Significantly less gravity upon activation.
  • Slow Gameplay: SLOWMO
    Gameplay gets slower, can be stacked 3x times for increased effect. Using it a 4th time will disable it entirely.
  • Director Mode: JRTALENT
    This cheat will let you choose any character or NPC to play the game. In addition to that you can listen to their recordings and see their emotes and whatnot. It’s quite fun.

  • Health and Armor regeneration: TURTLE
  • Fire Bullets: INCENDIARY
  • Fists of Fury: HOTHANDS
  • Explosive Bullets: HIGHEX

    One of the popular cheats on GTA, will only work for five minutes and then you must re-enter it.
  • Lower your Wanted Level: LAWYERUP
    Will knock off one star from your Wanted level.
  • Increase your Wanted Level: FUGITIVE
    Will add one star to your Wanted level.
  • Read Dead Redemption aiming effect: DEADEYE
    You know, exactly what the ability to slow down while aiming is called in Red Dead Redemption? It can also be stacked 4x to increase effect. 5th time will disable it entirely.

  • Beer Googles (Drunk Mode): LIQUOR
  • Superjump: HOPTOIT

    This cheat will spawn you high up in the air, after which you will immediately start to fall. Oh, also, it doesn’t give you a parachute. So good luck trying to aim to a building or the street and try to hit it headfirst or you’re done.
  • Ability Charge: POWERUP
    Recharges the special ability of whatever character you’re using.

Guns and Parachute

Look no further for these classic GTA codes.

  • Guns: TOOLUP
    This one cheat will give you every weapon, ammo included. Keep using it to replenish ammo.
  • Parachute: SKYDIVE
    Notice how this one says “dive”, not “fall”. Big difference. You can use the parachute once it’s equipped with the Left Mouse Button.

Cellphone Cheats

Cellphone cheats PC GTA V

Just like in Liberty City!

Using your cellphone is another way to enter cheats in GTA 5 that also works on PC. We didn’t include these on the previous section because that one is for command cheats, and also because the cellphone cheats work on ALL three platforms: PC, PS4 and Xbox One. So if you’re using a PC, you can choose to either use the command cheats above, or the cellphone cheats below. If you are on a PS4 or Xbox One console, then you can either use the cellphone cheat or a button combination, which we will list in a different section.

You must first bring up your cellphone pressing the UP button on your controller D-pad or your “T” key on your keyboard. Then you need to access your Dial-Pad, and then you enter the number corresponding to the cheat you want to activate. After entering it you need to dial it with the same button you used to bring up the Dial-Pad.

NOTE: You should always keep in mind that activating cheats will immediately deactivate Achievements and Trophies until GTA 5 is restarted, so you might want to save before starting a cheat-induced rampage. These cheats will alter the environment and generally affect how things respond.

    Like driving on an icy road.
  • Change Gravity: 1-999-356-2837
    Significantly less gravity upon activation.
  • Slow Gameplay: SLOWMO 1-999-756-966
    Gameplay gets slower, can be stacked 3x times for increased effect. Using it a 4th time will disable it entirely.

    This cheat will let you choose any character or NPC to play the game. In addition to that you can listen to their recordings and see their emotes and whatnot. It’s quite fun.

Conquer your enemies or… that random guy walking down the street.

  • Fire Bullets: 1-999-462-363-4279

  • Explosive Bullets: 1-999-444-439
  • Invincibility: 1-999-724-654-5537
    One of the popular cheats on GTA, will only work for five minutes and then you must re-enter it.
  • Lower you Wanted Level: 1-999-5299-3787
    Will knock off one star from your Wanted level.
  • Increase your Wanted Level: 1-999-3844-8483
    Will add one star to your Wanted level.
  • Read Dead Redemption aiming effect: 1-999-332-3393
    It can also be stacked 4x to increase effect. 5th time will disable it entirely.
  • Health and Armor regeneration: 1-999-887-853
  • EMP Drop (Emperor): 1-999-367-3767
    No one really knows (yet) what this cheat code, often called Black Cellphones, is supposed to do. When you dial that number there’s an explosion above your head, and your cellphone changes color to an Emperor Gray that you can’t get any other way. Here’s more info on this particular mystery, if you’re inclined to investigate.

PlayStation Cheats

If only Jimmy could use these cheat codes online…

This section will refer to GTA 5 cheats you can use by pressing a combination of buttons on a PS3 or PS4. As mentioned above, you can also enter cheats by dialing their number on your in-game cellphone, although that will only work in PS4. If you’re playing on a PS3, then you’ll have to use these button commands.

You must enter the command in rapid succession, while in-game, not in the pause menu. If done correctly, the cheat should get activated right away.

Xbox Cheats

Jimmy gaming on a console cheats GTA V

I feel we’ve all played with a Jimmy online.

This last section will cover GTA 5 cheats via button command on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Just like we mentioned before with the PlayStation cheats, Xbox One can do either the button command or use the cellphone input to activate cheats. Xbox 360 is limited to only the commands.

To activate commands on either Xbox 360 or Xbox One, you just enter the commands listed here in rapid succession while in-game, not on the pause menu. If entered correctly, the cheat will be activated afterwards.
