The Last of Us TV Show Has Been Renewed for Season 2

HBO’s The Last of Us TV has only aired two episodes so far, but the show has already been renewed for a second season. The decision was made based on the insane number of viewers that the first two episodes have gotten over this past month. Not only has the show been well received by both critics and audiences, but the first episode has also received a record number of viewers. It has been reported by The Hollywood Reporter that the first episode has now been seen by over 22 million viewers worldwide.

The show is the second most watched HBO show. The only show that got more viewers is House of the Dragon which is a Game of Thrones prequel. Not to mention there are seven more episodes left to air in the first season, so the viewership is set to grow in the next few weeks for the show.

The first season will follow the events of the first game, while the second season is expected to be about The Last of Us Part II. The Last of Us Part II introduces the character of Abby, so it will be interesting to see who is cast to play the character. In the game’s timeline, The Last of Us Part II takes place five years after the original game as Ellie is now 19 years old.

As of right now, the HBO show has mostly followed the events of the video game quite closely. The move to stay true to the source material has been well-received by pretty much everyone that has watched the show. This is unlike the Halo TV show which was criticized for not being faithful to the video games.
