I dont normally binge watch amazon
In this case I did. The good life started off brilliant then after the first series became unwatchable. This does not annoy me in the same way.
The concept is great and makes me think that a lifetime in virtual reality is hell. Its like a holiday, great for a couple of weeks then groundhog day.
Its comforting and warm with likeable characters. Every time Ingrid comes on scene, I just look at her legs and think wow, just wow. If I was in Nathans sitiuation, at the start I would run from Ingrid fast, but as her vapidity decreases, I would cling onto her like a liferaft. Can't wait for second series.
Legends of the Lost with Megan Fox (2018)
weirdest thing ever
I just find this weird, its presented by some animatronic, not a very good one at that, the face doesnt seem to move and the vacant flat narration is again weird. What next, youth hostelling with Chris Eubank?
Seat 25 (2017)
Just what I needed
I had a free evening so wanted to watch something pleasant to relax. From the start I loved it, the dreamy filming, the narration, the encapsulation of the pointlessness of life. The lead was engaging to watch, the detail of the capture, the clothes, the expressions, really pulled you in to connect. It felt very lifelike and believable. The dignity and charm of the guy ( Theo) she let go, I knew where it was going and I expected it. I always love a British film, there is always a slight darkness and edge to them, though it could have been western European too.
From Paris with Love (2010)
terrible
Lasted 30 mins before I decided along with other viewers to give up. Where do I start. well it started well enough but as soon as Travolta appeared it went downhill. He had a terrible script which he did a good job with, but it was terrible. Stereotype gung ho us cop impervious to bullets, doesnt play by the rules, can take on ten armed men, no problem. ok if you have the IQ of a worm.
Informer (2018)
lost interest in it
Started off well and promised to be a good thriller. Considine comes over as not a great actor, trying to be all tough and mysterious, but failing. The behaviour of the people seems a bit unlikely. He has a boss that ticks the diversity boxes and some comedy spy meeting on a boat. To be honest I struggled through three then lost interest. I dont really care what happens
Wannabe (2018)
not sure about it
Lily Brazier plays a similar role to the pushy mother in people just do nothing, this time its herself and not her daughter she is pushing. She seems to have put on two stone for this role and as a result looks like Peter Kay / Geraldine Mcqueen. I'm sure it it was necessary to do so. The premise of her reforming a band seems a bit lame as her delusion is too far fetched to be credible. If this was wound back a little, then the series would have more legs.
Advantageous (2015)
slow but interesting
There is lots I like about this film , the filming , the cityscape , the interaction between the mother and daughter . Also , the internal struggle with the meaning of life which lot of us identify with . I mainly struggled with her lack of money , despite having a high profile job in a large company , she had actually nothing to survive on and live in a very modest flat . I'm not sure how she could barely survive a month when she lost her job . The realisation of employment reduction in the future will frighten the millenials.also I missed where the replacement bodies come from.
Witless (2016)
Hard to watch at times, in a good way.
Some of the scenes are so awkward, normally when Kerry is involved it just hits my cringe buttons. The preciseness of Zoe is so sharp. Each episode is packed with so many different scenes. The super acting, facial expressions and identifiable characters draw you in. It manages to stay light even in scenes of murder, there is never a feeling of darkness, but a slightly quirky realism. I missed the starts with John Inverdale, I wish he could have been in more, that beard had me howling. Jackie, made the first series for me, well cast, acted, in all a superb comedy.Possibly a slow burner from the point of recognition and publicity as few people seems to have heard of it despite it being so good. Great one from the BBC.
