Wrath of Man (2021)
Awesome
Finally something fresh with some genuine twists. Great cinematography, great action, great story and great cast. I'll be watching this one again. Best movie of 2021 so far.
Unhinged (2020)
Terrible
Great action sequences? If you like seeing a fat tub of lard beat women and children. I can't believe anyone actually made this garbage.
Hellboy (2019)
Identity crisis movie
I really like David Harbour from Stranger Things and really wanted to like this. I just had to turn it off after 40 minutes since it's so bad. I just don't know what this movie is supposed to be. It's like 4 movies in one: action, horror, comedy, gore fest. The only problem is that it's no good at any of them, so it's 4 times as horrible.
Castle Rock (2018)
Scariest show on TV
This show is dark and macabre, just like events and characters based Stephen King stories should be. Season One was really good. Season Two is even better. Especially after episode 7, The Word. No spoilers, but after each season seeming to be it's own entity they start pulling them together and you get some questions answered. Can't wait for episode 8! Lizzy Caplan is masterful as Annie, I'd be shocked if she doesn't win some awards for her role. Paul Sparks is awesome also. All around great cast and direction. What story telling should be.
Too Old to Die Young (2019)
Good gawd Teller is horrible
Still watching episode 1. Seems like it's been on for three days. Why the hell do the actors need to count to 10 in their heads before saying a line or moving? Seems like they are as bored being in this as I am watching it. Mostly Miles Teller in the first episode, and he's a terrible actor. Baldwin and his constant snorting is annoying and comical. He needs another face lift,coked-out loser.
John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (2019)
Booooring
What a waste of a franchise. For all the fights it's just a boring mess. Can't suspend my disbelief enough to like this movie I was looking forward to. A shotgun that's loaded with 4 shells fires off 10 rounds. Guns that can hold 20 plus rounds of ammo. Uninspired. The fight scenes aren't even that good either. Just a bunch of morons dance dance revolution fighting like a boy band. The fight scene with Halle Berry was the worst thing I've watched in years. When the characters need to say how good their fight was, you know it wasn't. Self important characters, writers, directors and actors.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: The Gang Does a Clip Show (2018)
Hilarious
I think this show has gotten markedly better the last couple of seasons. The way they lampoon themselves as characters and as the show was great. Won't put any spoilers here, but the way they make a clip show into a Mr. Robot/Inception mind play with perception changing reality with new material just kicked but. Very original and fresh.
The Dark Tower (2017)
Horrible disservice to a great story
I don't care if this is one of the other wheels of the Dark Tower universe stories and not based on the original story. McConaughey is terrible as the man in black, and any story from the Dark Tower universe should start with or at least have a voice over that states: "The man in black fled across the desert, and the Gunslinger followed him." I'll give the movie a pass for not ending that way also, since it could have been the last wheel in Roland's story, but come on, this movie just plain stinks. I doubt any others get made if they are like this garbage. The out takes on the disc are better than the stuff they used for the release. Geez. Usual brilliant King novel turned to trash on the big screen.
It (2017)
Best King film adaptation ever.
I'm a huge King fan. Read all but 2 or 3 of his novels and read It, The Stand and The Dark Tower series 3 times each at least. Everything written by Stephen King made into a movie or film usually bites. This movie was great. It doesn't wait teasingly showing just a little here and there. It gets right to the gore and the horror just and keeps going. It also adds some modern pieces that fit fantastically.
Those that saw this and say they don't like King: why then, you went to a movie you knew you're not going to like. Go home. Be quite. Thanks
Those saying it doesn't follow the book:
1. yeah, it's in the 90's instead of the 60's like the book. That's better for me because it speaks to the time I read the book the first time.
2. Pay attention to cinematography ever? The graininess, style and colors of this movie are so 50's and 60's you're blind if you don't see it from the opening scene. Especially at the end with the bright greens and pastel blue sky.
That's about it. Just my opinion. Like all the real-world Pennywise's that litter the internet for real now, most of whom spend their time on the internet thinking their tired un-asked jaded opinions even matter and whine about any and everything like a bunch of diaper rashed babies. See if it you want, or don't. Who cares.
The Emoji Movie (2017)
Just don't
Gene couldn't be meh, but this "movie" made me meh. Turned it off after 15 or 20 minutes and I was watching it for free. One of the worst things recorded to film I've ever had the displeasure of letting come into contact with my cornea.
