Night of the Zombies (1981)
Ultra-trashy Adventure!
Joel M. Reed has The Touch Of Trash! This zombie-obscurity (zombies are talking, eating normally in restaurants, smoking cigarettes...) is one of the best trashfilms I have ever seen.
Jamie Gillis is just the right guy for uncommunicative detective and the script is superb (in trash standards.)
If you say that you are a trashfan, don't miss it! No, I order you to watch it! It shines like a dirty diamond..
Fun to watch- I love it!
Reed himself has a significant role in this flick.
Zombies in a trashfilm= Poetry!
Karvat (1974)
Art-trashy surprise and rarity from Finland!
Karvat is truly a triumph of art-trash-avantgardefilms. Not just only in Finland, but in The Whole Wide World! It has it all: unemployment, murder, robbery, rape, a gangster dwarf, false identities, helicopter rides, sleazy parties, sex, femme fatale and ordinary guy as superman. And a magic nut! And alternative ending. Etc. Etc.
It has same kind of trashy magic that Turkish oddball-movies had in the 70's.
Unfortunately Karvat is a black & white-movie. But you can't always get everything.
Braincandy for openminded filmviewers!
It is based on Lionel White's novel 'Obsession'.
