Billy & Molly: An Otter Love Story (2024)
Billy & Molly: A Heartwarming Tale of Otter Love
Billy & Molly: An Otter Love Story is a beautifully crafted film that captures the essence of love, loss, and the enduring bond between two creatures.
The cinematography is breathtaking, with slow-motion shots that showcase the serene beauty of their natural surroundings. The film's visuals are a feast for the eyes.
The story is both heartwarming and poignant, exploring themes of love, loss, and the importance of letting go. It serves as a reminder that all animals are beings deserving of our respect and compassion. We need to treat all creatures with kindness and understanding, regardless of their species.
Overall, Billy & Molly: An Otter Love Story is a beautifully shot and emotionally resonant film that will leave a lasting impression. It's a must-watch for animal lovers and those seeking a heartwarming tale of love and loss.
The Creator (2023)
The Creator: A Gripping Sci-Fi Epic That Explores the Depths of Human Emotion and the Ethics of Technology
A Gripping Sci-Fi Epic That Probes the Depths of Human Emotion and the Ethics of Technology
In the realm of sci-fi cinema, where grand narratives and visual spectacle often reign supreme, "The Creator" emerges as a thought-provoking and emotionally resonant masterpiece. Director Gareth Edwards, known for his visionary work in "Rogue One" and "Godzilla," deftly crafts a world where humanity grapples with the profound implications of artificial intelligence, questioning the very boundaries of creation and destruction.
John David Washington delivers a captivating performance as Joshua, a hardened ex-special forces agent haunted by personal tragedy. His mission: to infiltrate the heart of AI-controlled territory and eliminate the Creator, the enigmatic figure behind the devastating war that threatens to consume humanity.
Edwards masterfully blends gritty realism with awe-inspiring visuals, creating a world that is both familiar and alien. The film's stark, grey palette reflects the desolate landscape of a war-torn future, while the haunting beauty of AI-constructed environments hints at the boundless potential of technology.
Amidst the thrilling action sequences and suspenseful plot twists, "The Creator" delves into profound philosophical questions. It explores the nature of consciousness, the ethics of artificial intelligence, and the capacity for empathy and compassion. The film challenges viewers to confront their own biases and consider the implications of technological advancements.
The film also offers a poignant commentary on the dehumanizing effects of war and the destructive nature of unchecked power. The portrayal of the United States' ruthless pursuit of military dominance rings eerily true, echoing real-world conflicts and raising critical questions about the erosion of ethical boundaries.
In a genre often dominated by explosions and escapism, "The Creator" stands out as a deeply human and thought-provoking cinematic experience. It is a film that lingers long after the credits roll, prompting reflection on the complexities of human nature, the ethical dilemmas of technological progress, and the enduring power of human connection.
Boudica (2023)
A Disappointingly Lackluster Historical Epic
Boudica: Queen of War (2023) is a historical film directed by Jesse V. Johnson and starring Olga Kurylenko as Boudica, the legendary Celtic warrior queen who led a rebellion against the Roman occupation of Britain in the first century AD. While the film has some potential, it ultimately falls short due to its uninspired direction, underwhelming action sequences, and a lack of historical accuracy.
One of the film's biggest problems is its direction. Johnson's lack of experience with large-scale action films is evident in the film's battle scenes, which are poorly choreographed and lack any sense of scale. The film's budget is also clearly limited, as evidenced by the use of cheap-looking sets and costumes.
Kurylenko is a talented actress, but she is not given enough to work with in this role. Her Boudica is a one-dimensional character who is defined by her anger and rage. The film does not explore her motivations in any depth, and her character arc is predictable and uninspired.
The film's historical accuracy is also questionable. The film takes liberties with the historical record, and there are several scenes that are simply not plausible. For example, the film depicts Boudica as having a magical sword that can fly through the air. This is a complete fabrication, and there is no evidence to support it.
Overall, Boudica: Queen of War (2023) is a disappointing attempt to bring the story of Boudica to life. The film is poorly directed, lacks scale, and is historically inaccurate. It is a missed opportunity to tell a truly epic story about one of history's most fascinating women.
The Last Rifleman (2023)
A journey of remembrance, resilience, and friendship.
I found the film to be a moving and well-acted drama that explores important themes of memory, loss, and friendship. Pierce Brosnan delivers a compelling performance as Artie Crawford, a World War II veteran who embarks on a journey to France to pay his respects to his best friend. The film's cinematography is beautiful and the narrative unfolds with a gentle pace. While the plot may not be entirely unpredictable, it is the strength of the performances and the emotional depth of the story that make The Last Rifleman a worthwhile watch.
I would recommend The Last Rifleman to anyone who enjoys a good drama or who is interested in World War II history.
Alibi.com 2 (2023)
A Hilarious Sequel That Outshines Most Comedies
In the realm of comedies, Alibi.com 2 stands out as a refreshing gem, surpassing many of its American counterparts with its clever wit and absence of crude toilet humor. This French sequel, released in 2023, continues the story of Greg, now engaged to Flo, as he navigates the introduction of his eccentric family to his beloved. To shield Flo from the truth about his family's unconventional ways, Greg revives his alibi agency, fabricating a set of fake parents for her.
Alibi.com 2 masterfully blends humor and heart, offering a delightful escape from the often predictable and crude jokes that plague many American comedies. The script is peppered with intelligent wordplay and situational humor, ensuring that the laughs are genuine and thought-provoking rather than relying on cheap gags and bodily functions.
The film's cast shines brightly, bringing the characters to life with impeccable comedic timing and genuine chemistry. Philippe Lacheau is charming as Greg, while Élodie Fontan radiates as Flo, their on-screen connection adding a touch of heartwarming romance to the comedic whirlwind.
Alibi.com 2 proves that comedy can be intelligent and sophisticated, leaving behind the tired tropes of American comedies that often resort to toilet humor for easy laughs. Instead, this French gem delivers a refreshing blend of clever wit, endearing characters, and a heartwarming story that will leave you smiling long after the credits roll.
Meg 2: The Trench (2023)
A Disappointing Sequel
Meg 2: The Trench is the sequel to the 2018 film The Meg, and it is just as bad, if not worse. The first film was not very good, but it was watchable. Meg 2, on the other hand, is simply a mess.
One of the biggest problems with the film is its blend of Chinese and Hollywood cultures. The film is set in China, but it is directed by an American and features a mostly American cast. This results in a film that feels neither Chinese nor American. It is simply a bland and uninspired cultural mashup.
Another problem with the film is its plot. The plot is simple and predictable, and it is full of holes. The film's characters are also one-dimensional and underdeveloped.
The film's action sequences are also disappointing. They are poorly choreographed and unexciting. The film's CGI is also subpar.
It is not worth watching.
The Last Voyage of the Demeter (2023)
A Nice Atmospheric Movie with Plenty of Tension
The Last Voyage of the Demeter is a 2023 American supernatural horror film directed by André Øvredal and starring Corey Hawkins, Aisling Franciosi, David Dastmalchian, and Liam Cunningham. The film is based on the chapter "The Captain's Log" from Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula.
The film follows the crew of the merchant ship Demeter as they attempt to transport a mysterious cargo from Transylvania to London. However, the cargo is not what it seems, and the crew soon finds themselves battling a terrifying creature that is stalking the ship.
The film is very atmospheric, and Øvredal does a great job of creating a sense of dread and suspense. The ship itself is a character in the film, and its claustrophobic and decaying interior is perfect for a horror story.
The performances in the film are also very good. Hawkins is excellent as the ship's doctor, and Franciosi is also very good as a stowaway who is caught up in the events of the film. Dastmalchian and Cunningham are also good in their supporting roles.
Overall, The Last Voyage of the Demeter is a nice atmospheric horror film with plenty of tension. It is worth checking out for fans of the genre.
Retribution (2023)
A Watchable but Unoriginal Film
Retribution is a 2023 American action thriller film directed by Nimród Antal and starring Liam Neeson. The film follows Matt Turner (Neeson), a financier who is threatened by a mysterious bomber while driving his son and daughter to school.
The film is watchable, but it feels like a remake of a Korean movie I've seen before. The plot is almost identical, and the acting is typical Liam Neeson.
Neeson is a good actor, but he's been playing the same role in the same type of movie for over a decade now. It's starting to get a bit stale.
The supporting cast is also decent, but they don't have much to do. The film is all about Neeson's character, and everyone else is just window dressing.
The action sequences are well-choreographed and exciting, but they're also very predictable. If you've seen one Liam Neeson action movie, you've seen them all.
Overall, Retribution is a watchable but unoriginal film. It's perfect for a rainy day rental, but it's not something I would recommend going to the theater to see.
Blue Beetle (2023)
The Superhero Movie That's Actually Good (And Funny!)
Blue Beetle is a 2023 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. The film is directed by Angel Manuel Soto and stars Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes, a teenager who is bonded to a powerful alien scarab that gives him superhuman abilities.
I found Blue Beetle to be a refreshing and original superhero movie.
The film focuses on the importance of family. Jaime's family is his rock, and they support him unconditionally. This is in contrast to many other superhero movies, which focus on the hero's journey of self-discovery and independence.
Also, the film has a sense of humor. It is not afraid to be funny, and it does so in a way that is both clever and heartwarming. This is a welcome change from the dark and brooding tone of many other superhero movies.
Finally, the film is simply well-made. The acting is good, the directing is sharp, and the action sequences are exciting.
Overall, I found Blue Beetle to be a refreshing and original superhero movie. It is different from other superhero movies of late in a number of ways, and it is all the better for it. I highly recommend it to fans of the superhero genre and to anyone looking for a fun and entertaining film.
Strays (2023)
An Okeyish stray
Strays is a 2023 American adult animated comedy film directed by Josh Greenbaum and written by Dan Perrault. The film stars Will Ferrell, Jamie Foxx, Isla Fisher, Randall Park, and Will Forte as a group of stray dogs who plot revenge on their former owners.
The film is as crude as its premise suggests, with plenty of toilet humor and off-color jokes. However, there are also some genuinely funny moments, and the film's heart is in the right place.
The voice cast is excellent, and Ferrell and Foxx are particularly well-suited to their roles. The animation is also impressive, and the film's visuals are often stunning.
However, the film's humor is not for everyone, and some viewers may find it to be too crude. The film's plot is also a bit thin, and the film feels a bit stretched out at times.
Overall, Strays is an okeyish film. It is not without its flaws, but it is also not without its charms. If you are a fan of crude humor and animal-themed comedies, then you may enjoy this film. However, if you are easily offended or prefer more sophisticated humor, then you may want to skip this one.
No One Will Save You (2023)
A Partially Interesting, Strange, and Decent Movie
No One Will Save You is a 2023 American science fiction horror film directed by Brian Duffield and starring Kaitlyn Dever. The film follows Brynn Adams (Dever), a young woman who is living alone in her childhood home when she is attacked by a group of malevolent alien creatures.
The film is notable for its almost complete lack of dialogue. Brynn is the only character who speaks, and she only says a few lines of dialogue throughout the entire film. This makes for a very unique and atmospheric experience, as the audience is forced to rely on visual cues and sound effects to understand what is happening.
The film is also notable for its unusual premise. The aliens in No One Will Save You are not your typical Hollywood aliens. They are strange and grotesque creatures that are unlike anything else I have seen in a science fiction film before.
The film's direction is also noteworthy. Duffield does a great job of creating suspense and tension throughout the film. He also uses the almost complete lack of dialogue to great effect, creating a very atmospheric and disturbing experience.
Dever is excellent in the lead role. She is able to convey Brynn's fear and determination without saying a word. The supporting cast is also good, but they are mostly underutilized due to the film's focus on Brynn.
Overall, No One Will Save You is a partially interesting, strange, and decent movie. It is not without its flaws, but it is a unique and atmospheric experience that is worth checking out for fans of science fiction horror.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 (2023)
My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3: A Disappointing Conclusion to the Franchise
My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 is the latest installment in the popular film franchise, and it is unfortunately the worst of the three. The film is not as fun as the first or even the second, and it feels a bit uninspired and has lost its charm.
The film follows Toula Portokalos (Nia Vardalos) as she deals with the challenges of being a middle-aged woman with a grown daughter and a husband who is going through a mid-life crisis. Toula is also trying to keep her family together as they deal with their own issues.
The film's plot is predictable and the characters are one-dimensional. The film's humor also falls flat, and the film's emotional scenes feel forced.
One of the biggest problems with the film is that it feels like a rehash of the first two films. There is nothing new or exciting about this film, and it feels like the filmmakers are just trying to cash in on the franchise's popularity.
Another problem with the film is that it is simply not funny. The film's humor is mostly based on stereotypes and clichés, and it just doesn't land.
The film's emotional scenes also fall flat. The filmmakers try to tug at the heartstrings of the audience, but the scenes just feel forced and unearned.
If you are a fan of the franchise, then you might be able to find some enjoyment out of this film, but for everyone else, I recommend giving it a pass.
The Equalizer 3 (2023)
Denzel Washington Delivers Another Stellar Performance in the Well-Made Action Thriller "The Equalizer 3"
The Equalizer 3 is a 2023 American action thriller film directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Denzel Washington. The film is the third installment in The Equalizer franchise, and it follows Robert McCall (Washington) as he takes on a powerful Italian crime syndicate after they harm his friend.
Washington is once again excellent as McCall, a skilled vigilante who is always willing to help those in need. He is ably supported by a strong cast that includes Dakota Fanning, Pedro Pascal, and Remo Girone.
The film's action sequences are well-choreographed and exciting, and the film also features a number of emotional scenes. The film's plot is a bit predictable, but it is still enjoyable to watch McCall take on the bad guys.
Overall, The Equalizer 3 is a good movie. It is a well-made action thriller with a strong performance from Denzel Washington. If you are a fan of the franchise, then you will definitely enjoy this film.
The Burial (2023)
Jamie Foxx and Tommy Lee Jones Deliver Stellar Performances in the Well-Made and Entertaining Courtroom Drama, "The Burial"
The Burial is a 2023 American courtroom drama film directed by Maggie Betts and starring Jamie Foxx and Tommy Lee Jones. The film is loosely based on the true story of Willie E. Gary, a flamboyant civil rights lawyer who took on a multi-billion dollar corporation in a wrongful death lawsuit.
Foxx plays Gary, a successful lawyer who is known for his flashy style and his big personality. Jones plays Jeremiah O'Keefe, a mild-mannered funeral home director who is suing a corporation after they reneged on a promise to pay him a commission on the sale of his business.
The film follows Gary as he builds a case against the corporation, which is represented by a high-powered legal team. Gary uses his wit and his charm to win over the jury and to expose the corporation's wrongdoing.
The Burial is a well-made and entertaining film. Foxx is excellent in the lead role, and he is ably supported by Jones and a strong supporting cast. The film's script is sharp and funny, and the courtroom scenes are suspenseful and engaging.
The Burial is more than just a courtroom drama, however. It is also a film about friendship, loyalty, and justice.
I would highly recommend The Burial to anyone who enjoys a well-made and entertaining film. It is a film that will stay with you long after you have seen it.
Expend4bles (2023)
Expend4bles 4: A Crap Review
Expend4bles 4 is the latest installment in the Expendables franchise, and it's a steaming pile of crap. The plot is nonsensical, the action is uninspired, and the acting is wooden. The only thing this movie has going for it is the nostalgia factor, but even that's not enough to save it.
The Expendables are back, but this time they're facing their deadliest threat yet: a rogue CIA agent who has stolen a nuclear warhead. Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham are back to lead the team, but this time they're joined by a new generation of Expendables, including Megan Fox, Andy Garcia, and 50 Cent.
The problem with Expend4bles 4 is that it's just a rehash of everything we've seen in the previous three movies. The plot is predictable, the action is repetitive, and the dialogue is cringe-worthy. The movie also suffers from some truly terrible CGI.
The cast is also a mixed bag. Stallone and Statham are still fun to watch, but the rest of the cast is pretty bland. Megan Fox is completely wasted in her role, and Andy Garcia and 50 Cent are just phoning it in.
Overall, Expend4bles 4 is a huge disappointment. It's a lazy, uninspired movie that doesn't offer anything new or exciting. If you're a fan of the franchise, then you might be able to find some enjoyment out of this movie, but for everyone else, I recommend giving it a pass.
TL;DR: Expend4bles 4 is a crap movie. Don't waste your time.
Interceptor (2022)
"It was swiming near the base" OMG
Such poor acting , poor script. Whoever invested money in this film is surely in for a loss. Not the worst b type movie but dont waste your time, you won't get it back.
Breaking Point: The War for Democracy in Ukraine (2017)
Bias "documentary"
This so called documentary is presented only from one side. Nowadays it's simple Ukraine good, Russia bad. It's a very complex thing and you need to zoom out quite a bit to see and understand the whole picture.
After Life (2019)
What a ride
This show is just pure perfection, comedy, drama perfectly blended to hit you hard. Cast is great and they manage to transpose you in that universe and what a universe. Definitely my favorite. Sorry to see it go. Highly recommend.
A Quiet Place Part II (2020)
This movie is so stupid
OMG i cant belive they did a sequel to the first one. The hole plot is idiotic "aliens" are too stupid, I wonder how they found Earth how did they travel here ? Or maybe are just like the aliens in tomorrow's war. Better find something else to watch.
Voyagers (2021)
Shows us at worst and best
I really enjoyed it, shows the true nature of men.
Serebryanye konki (2020)
Beautiful scenery, heartwarming story
I was very impressed with the movie, it has a fairytale vibe Beautiful scenery, great costumes and nice story. Russia started to bring a lot of nice movies to the table, finally something else to watch that has values and its not full of politically correctness. Great job russian crew!
The Misfits (2021)
Cheap on the budget
Movie had a cheap vibe. The way it was shot and directed felt cheap. I guess movie had a decent budget but was wasted. It could have been nice with better script and definitely better directing. Dont waste your time.
Once Upon a Time in Iraq (2020)
How to mess up a country, kill innocents and get away with it
This is just that, destroy a country (have countless peopled killed by you or reactions from your "liberation") and get away with it. HOW is this possible? The same thing should happen to US an Britain , hopefully they will be liberated by Russia or China. I think they deserve it. I wander if still you can accuse Russia from annexing Crimea or China for supposedly reeducating the uyghurs. All superpowers are bad, but somehow US has the nerve to point fingers.
Raya and the Last Dragon (2021)
Pure magic well worth seeing it
Very nice story, nice animation and setting, very funny and a story that makes you think about the world (i know we won't be able to do what they did in the movie, but we can try). I really enjoyed it.
Wander (2020)
very decent movie, well acted
I don't see how people can rate this bellow 5. For me it was very decent with great acting. Maybe it gets you confused and it's not a straight story line and you don't like to wander what's all about? then don't watch this and don't leave 1 star rating.
