I really enjoyed this series. The setting and scenery alone make it interesting! Add in some very good actors, some decent wit and a solid plot with some nice little twists and you have a nice little drama series, which is def worth a watch. Don't expect anything too complex or heavy, just relax and enjoy.
Watching this enjoyable series to the end today did not disappoint. The ending was as unpredictable and believable as were most episodes. The acting was above average and the characters well written, as was the main storyline. The setting added a certain feel to the series and the pace was a nice welcome from the often frantic type shown by many others of this genre. A very good series and although it has ended, better on such a high note and with good entertainment value. The main actors were excellent in their roles and the location of Hierro gave it that extra dimension that added to the suspense. Kudos to the cast and crew.
The plot is very interesting and the contrast between the newly arrived judge and the residents in El Hierro island is realistic. The characters are well based and the actors are really good. I enjoyed every single episode very much.
You won't find a better one on Spanish TV. Candela Peña does her lifetime performance. The pace is perfect, the scenery incomparable and never found a show where it was more decisive in the plot. Sad there won't be a third season...

I wasn't entirely sure about "hierro" but i decided to give it a go as i know one of the actors in it. But i am hooked up and i have watched 4 episodes so far.
It reminds me of "Broadchurch" a little bit, i guess there are plenty shows like this, but being in a small canary island it was something that caught my eye too. I can wait to see how it ends.

I'm so glad I came across this gem of a mystery. It has everything you could want- a dramatic landscape beautifully captured, an intriguing mystery with an original storytelling arc, and well developed characters. Highly recommended!
The island where the series was filming is very beautiful
A thriller series that is well worth seeing in a fantastic landscape. The best: The police get to know regional traditions from the police investigations, the landscape and the economic misery are addressed. Due to a lack of jobs, the locals are dependent on the favor of the plantation owner Antonio Díaz (Darío Grandinetti), who plays really convincing. The series remains exciting and convincing until the end. Very nice. Murder in Paradise.
This series are really good! just don't miss it if you like good photography and a great story!! The island EL HIERRO is really magic!, and so is this series!!
Very realistic and all the actors are greeeaattt!!
Binge watched 2 series in the UK on Channel 4 s excellent " Walter Presents " which features , mainly , crimes series from across the World including many Nordic Noir and splendid series from many European countries . One might say a SMORGASBORD of crime . This one from one of the Canary Islands , whilst having a few " hard to believe " police procedures and plot twists is compulsive viewing with a great cast many , but not all of which I have enjoyed in other series and all talented actors . The STANDOUTS for me , with absolutely no disrespect to the adult cast who were all great ( I can't think of one dodgy performance by anybody which can be rare ) we're the 2 young female actors who feature quite alot as sisters and daughters of 2 prime characters in the second series . I don't know why it is but our EUROPEAN neighbours seem to bring forth young boys , girls , teenagers who put the young spoilt brat stereotypes in so many USA movies or TV SERIES and with a few very notable exceptions also in the UK industry into the shade as far as acting goes and I will be surprised if we don't hear / see alot more of these two young ladies in the future BUENA SUERTE GIRLS.

I found this series quite by accident. It has been a joy from the very first episode. I knew nothing about las Islas Canarias-now they are definitely on my list to visit. The scripts are intriguing, the acting impeccable. Candela and Diaz are tops. Hate to see this series end. Well done. Thank you!

Loved this series. Brilliant acting and directing and really loved the layers of the plot, which made it constantly gripping and yet also very believable and real.
The 2 main characters remain true to themselves in just the best of ways. The judge is just not phased by popularity and does the right thing all the time, yet also human at the same time with heart. The main male character Diaz is more flawed but at the same time, just as with the judge becomes increasingly more likeable. Against the back drop of an island with its stark beauty and typical small village dynamics, it sets the scene of a powerful drama.
I loved every bit of it and hope there is more to come from the creator of this series.

Love all Walter Presents series, this one is no different.
Season 2 episode 3 has the most amazing self replenishing sandwich that changes between having a bite or two taken out and returning to original untouched state six or seven times depending on the camera angle.
Otherwise a really good drama with some great performances by several of the cast.
Twists in the plot that keep your interest throughout and scenery of the island is fabulously dramatic especially the coastline and location of the hotels in the plot.
Hope theee are more episodes to come as I've enjoyed the two seasons so far.
