Roxanne Delage is a Professor of Archaeology. She is married to Alexis, they have an 8-year-old daughter, Alma. One afternoon, she goes to a private house to review a Mayan mask. She wakes up several hours later, half naked near the corpse of a man.
Eight years later, Roxane regains freedom and has only one obsession: to prove her innocence to find her daughter. She is assisted in her reintegration by Dany, her former fellow inmate.
Roxane asks Alexis to help her investigate the Ortiz. At first reluctant, Alexis finally ends up having suspicions, which puts him in a wrong position vis-à-vis his future in-laws.
Alexis doesn't survive his injuries. Roxane, Alma and Inès are devastated. Everything seems to indicate that it is an accident, but Combas and Roxane are not fooled: for them, it is a murder.
Roxane risks everything, contacting Careco, Pablo Ortiz's rival for the municipal elections. She convinces him to help bring the Ortiz family down by making them believe she has a copy of the letter. The plan seems to be working.
Roxane reaches her goal. She must go to the Ortiz estate to learn the truth about the conspiracy that struck her. Full of hope, she enters the house - and wakes up next to the corpse of a member of the family.
