When the Master Sergeant (MSgt) first introduces the new-joins, he refers to Megan Leavey as "Private" but her rank insignia is "Private First Class" The Marine Corps does not refer to Privates First Class as "Privates". The Master Sergeant should have introduced her as, "PFC Leavey."
Shortly after showing Colin Powell's Feb 2003 U.N. speech, Megan joins the Corps. Then she is in a bar with the TV showing David Ortiz hitting a home run against the Yankees. Ortiz didn't hit a home run against the Yankees until July 4, 2003.
Near the end of the movie, it was thought that Rex could be seen without a muzzle while with Corporal Leavey at Yankee Stadium being Honoured. However, Rex is in fact wearing a muzzle, it is a dark navy colour (different from the metal ones he is seen wearing earlier in the film) it almost blends into his fur colour but it is there.
In one scene the characters are having a conversation on stage left in front of a store at normal speed, while on stage right on the street vehicles are zooming by in fast forward. This is most likely an artistic decision, possibly to emphasize how Leavey's return to normal life is affecting her after her tour in Afghanistan.
As the shot pans left while Megan is being honored at Yankee stadium, there are two marines in the background who have the left side of their face digitally cut out.
Megan returns home at Christmas time. Patches of snow are seen on the ground, but the vegetation is in full leaf.
When she lands in Iraq it comes up on screen as Camp Ramada Al Ambar Province it's actually Al Anbar Province.
When Megan and Rex are reunited at Camp Pendleton in San Diego, Rex has vapor coming from his panting from the cold air.
At the graduation march at start of movie, the viewer can see the graduates marching in the worst drill possible. Not in step, some with arms not swinging and others 'square gating' (arms not swinging in sync of the feet.. A real marine graduate squad would march perfectly.
