Sexuality is a very prominent theme throughout the film, including dialogue and non-graphic sex, but only one scene of nudity. Older teens discuss sexuality very often, often times using crude terms.
At a party, an older teenage couple goes into a bedroom and kisses, leading to the girl performing oral sex on the guy. The camera is from above the guy's shoulder and no nudity is shown, but the girl is shown unzipping his pants and opening the zipper. She is later shown in the bathroom rinsing out her mouth with mouthwash and spitting into a sink, and the event is later mentioned by other older teens.
An older teenage couple sits and talks on a bed and the guy undresses her, and the scene cuts to them under the covers, implying that they had sex. The guy gets up, showing his boxer-style underwear, and puts his clothes on and leaves.

Two older teenage boys and an older teenage girl discuss a much younger boy that committed suicide in the eighth grade and it is said that he shot himself in the head. The older teenage girl asks if shooting oneself hurts, and one of the guys says that it probably does hurt, but only for a very small amount of time.
Two older teenage boys are shown in a car, both drunk and high, and the intoxicated driver crashes into an oncoming car, causing both cars to swerve in opposite directions. No one is harmed.
