Imagine if Halle Berry told you the world just ended, and now you have to live out in the woods. Also you have to stay in Halle Berry’s house or else an evil force will get you. Also if you do leave, you have to be tied to Halle Berry’s house by a rope or else — again — the evil will get you. Also only Halle Berry can see the evil. Oh, and the protective power of Halle Berry’s house has to be recharged like a battery, and recharged with your love, so she’s going to have to repeatedly lock you in the cellar with the lights off until you give off the right vibes.

Back in early 2023, filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan told Collider, “I have three movie ideas. I even have the structure of all three to some extent. And so it’s a very weird and interesting situation I’m feeling. I wish I could tell them faster. I wish I could get there faster, but there is no shortcut. I have to spend the six to nine months to write it. I have to storyboard for three months, and then we have pre-production, and then shooting it, and edit for as long as I can get every single second.“ Soon after, it was announced that he had secured a multi-year deal with Warner Bros. – and he immediately went to work on his recent thriller Trap. Now that Trap has made its way out into the world, it’s time for Shyamalan to start putting the second of those three movie ideas he said he had,...

Since his days competing in the WWE to his turn as an action star, Dave Bautista has always been known for his hulking, muscular figure. However, he is rocking a much slimmer figure these days, and many of his biggest fans are concerned for his health. So, what did Bautista have to say about his health?
Dave Bautista Was Larger Than Life In The WWE
When Dave Bautista was at his physical peak in the WWE, he stood at 6’6 and was close to 300 pounds of pure muscle. He was a towering figure in the organization. With those kinds of stats, it’s no surprise how he shot to the top of the organization before he eventually transitioned into acting roles.
It’s not often that strength, size, and charisma all come together in a single individual. However, Dave Bautista had all of those ingredients, and he used them to his...

Although he’s predominantly played comedic characters in some fairly light-hearted films, Dave Bautista is taking his crossover into movies seriously. The muscular star, who is one of the few truly successful wrestler-turned-actors, has a new action-comedy coming out with J.J. Perry’s The Killer’s Game, in which he takes on a bevy of hitmen looking to close on a price on his head. While he remained bulked up for the film, fans may be noticing how slimmer and trimmer the former WWE and Guardians of the Galaxy star is looking while on press tour and for the premiere.
According to Variety, Bautista is strategically trimming down in order to play more diverse roles in his career going forward. He explains, “I started trimming down because I got really big for a role. Uncomfortably big. For Knock at the Cabin I got really big. I was around 315 pounds…I put...

Dave Bautista recently told content creator Chris Van Vliet that his recent weight loss can be attributed to his acting career, mainly because he doesn’t want to appear too “distracting” on camera opposite his more normal-sized co-stars. The “Guardians of the Galaxy” favorite said he’s “absolutely” been trimming down to play a more diverse range of acting roles.
“I started trimming down because I got really big for a role. Uncomfortably big,” Bautista said. “For ‘Knock at the Cabin’ I got really big. I was around 315 pounds…I put the weight on really fast and I put on an uncomfortable amount of weight and it took forever to shed it out.”
Bautista decided it was time to lose some weight, and as the pounds came off he realized that not only was he feeling better emotionally but he was also becoming more natural on screen.

Dave Bautista, whose latest action comedy The Killer’s Game comes to theaters this Friday, is ready to make hearts go pitter-pat by starring in a romantic comedy. In the past, Bautista questioned if he was “too unattractive” to become a silver-screen Lothario, asking Page Six in a 2023 interview, “Is there something that unappealing about me that excludes me from these parts?” Aww, Dave! Don’t listen to your Emo Teen Life Coach. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about! I know plenty of people who find your rugged good looks alluring, and then some.

“I’m older––I’m not old,” says Shelley, the longest-term performer in a past-its-prime Las Vegas revue. She is played by Pamela Anderson, the international icon who has never, ever had a role like this. Shelley is 57 years old, living paycheck-to-paycheck, estranged from her daughter, and intensely vulnerable. Clearly we are far from the beaches of Baywatch and action spectacle that was Barb Wire. And Anderson is one of the chief reasons Gia Coppola’s The Last Showgirl is a noteworthy film. But this is not stunt casting. It’s a real-deal performance, and Shelley is one of the more memorable Vegas denizens in recent cinema.
Shelley’s Las Vegas is the Vegas of shattered dreams and empty pockets––stripped of artifice and bathed in harsh sunlight. Coppola, whose earlier efforts Palo Alto and Mainstream showed great promise, and screenwriter Kate Gersten have a keen understanding of the behind-the-scenes world of the city.

Dave Bautista Gets Candid on Leaving the Role of Drax: "I Wouldn't Say I Miss Him" - Main Image
Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista recently reflected on leaving the role of Drax in the MCU.
The wrestler-turned-actor played the fan-favorite role of Drax the Destroyer for the last time in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. He was adamant before the film's release that it would be his final rodeo as the character.
A lot of fans are still hoping that the original Guardians of the Galaxy cast would make more appearances in the future, but that looks to be getting more unlikely now as most of the actors have moved on from their MCU tenure.

James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy wrapped up with last May's Vol. 3 and, while we expect to see at least some of those characters again, it was a chance for others to bid farewell to their time in the MCU.
Dave Bautista always seemed a tad dissatisfied with how things played out for him as Drax; Marvel Studios never made good on its promise to pit him against Thanos and the Destroyer grew increasingly less serious thanks to the actor's perfect comic timing.

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” was released over a year ago and brought several important developments to the MCU. Unlike some other recent MCU projects, the third installment in the “Guardians” series was a success with both critics and at the box office.
As the movie shows, the team eventually went their separate ways. Star-Lord went back to Earth to reconnect with his human side, and Gamora joined the Ravagers. Mantis decided to pursue her own path and personal goals. Meanwhile, Nebula and Drax stayed on Knowhere to take care of the children they had rescued from the High Evolutionary’s ship.
The MCU has introduced a new Guardians of the Galaxy team consisting of Groot, Kraglin, Cosmo, Adam Warlock, Phyla, and Blurp, with Rocket Raccoon now serving as their leader. There are hints that Star-Lord might return, and Chris Pratt has expressed his willingness to take on more adventures as the character.

It wasn’t the action that piqued Dave Bautista’s interest in The Killer’s Game; it was the chance to play a proper romantic lead for the very first time. Like a lot of actors, Bautista is most intrigued by the roles that frighten him, and so the chance to play lovestruck assassin Joe Flood was something he’d been committed to intermittently since 2019. Based on The Killer’s Game novel by Jay Bonansinga, Flood is diagnosed with a neurodegenerative brain condition that leaves him with only months to live, so he takes out a contract on his own life so that the love of his life, Maize (Sofia Boutella), can collect his life insurance policy. The rub is that he was misdiagnosed by three different labs and it’s too late to cancel said contract.

The life story behind writer/director M. Night Shyamalan is unlike that of any other major filmmaker working today. Born in India but brought to the United States when he was only six weeks old, Shyamalan wanted to become a filmmaker ever since he got his first Super 8 camera as a child. He had released two little-seen features when in 1999, he made “The Sixth Sense,” a psychological thriller that was successful beyond his wildest dreams, earning over $672 million and bringing him critical acclaim, including nominations from BAFTA, the Golden Globes, Writers Guild, Directors Guild, as well as two Academy Award nominations.
Shyamalan’s box office roll continued with his next two films, 2000’s “Unbreakable” and “Signs” in 2002. But with 2004’s “The Village,” critics began to turn on the filmmaker, citing their disappointment with his plot twist in that movie, a discontent that continued through 2006’s “Lady in the Water” and 2008’s “The Happening.

Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine held on to top spot in its second weekend in North America as an estimated $97m boosted the running total to $395.6m and overtook The Passion Of The Christ on $371m to become the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time.
Playing in 4,230 theatres, the summer smash starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman dropped 53% – a solid hold for a tentpole targeted at a typically front-loaded cinema-going culture – and scored the eighth highest second weekend of all time, and the fifth second highest weekend of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Deadpool & Wolverine earned $8m on Imax and has grossed $34m in total.

Marvel’s “Deadpool & Wolverine” (Disney) grossed $97 million on its second weekend, representing a 54 percent drop. That’s in line with other blockbuster openings and an impressive achievement. Disney now has all four of the top weekend totals this year, including the first two weekends of “Inside Out 2.” (The Pixar smash fell only 34 percent its second weekend).
That gets the third “Deadpool” (and the eighth Hugh Jackman “Wolverine”) movie to $395 million domestic and $824 million worldwide by its second weekend, the best of 2024. Whether it bests “Inside Out 2” (currently $627 million) for #1 for the year remains uncertain. “Inside Out 2” is closing in on “Barbie,” which ended up at $636 million last year, but that’s a trivia point; much more important is what these films brought to the struggling 2024 box office.

All hail Marvel Jesus.
“Deadpool & Wolverine,” starring Ryan Reynolds (as the Merc With a Mouth who dubs himself the messiah of his world) and Hugh Jackman, has provided another jolt to the box office, collecting a stellar $97 million in its second weekend of release.
These ticket sales, down just 53% from its mighty $211 million debut, rank as the eighth-biggest second weekend in domestic box office history. Only billion-dollar behemoths “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” ($149 million), “Avengers: Endgame” ($147 million) and “Infinity War” ($114 million), “Black Panther” ($111 million), “Jurassic World” ($106 million), “The Avengers” ($103 million) and this June’s “Inside Out 2” ($101 million) have enjoyed bigger sophomore outings. “Deadpool & Wolverine” bypassed last year’s sensation “Barbie,” which previously held the No. 8 slot with $93 million in its second weekend.
So far, “Deadpool & Wolverine” has grossed $395 million in North America and $824 million globally, surpassing the first two “Deadpool” installments — with $783 million and $786 million respectively — after two weekends of release.

Paramount Pictures is in the process of turning the horror thriller novel Wilderness Reform into a movie, and Knock at the Cabin scribes Steve Desmond and Michael Sherman have signed on to co-write the screenplay. More on this upcoming horror movie below.
It's based on the 2024 book of the same name by the writing brother duo Harrison and Matt Query. Lindsey Anderson Beer (Pet Sematary: Bloodline) will produce the film through her Lab Brew production banner and her first-look deal with Paramount Pictures. Scott Glassgold (Tarot) will also produce via his Ground Control production company.
The movie takes place at a wilderness camp for troubled teens and centers around a 13-year-old boy named Ben, who is sent there for a reform program. But upon his arrival, he notices that something isn't quite right about the camp and its employees. The camp counselors' happy-go-lucky attitudes seem fake, leading him to believe...

Ever since M. Night Shyamalan made his triumphant comeback with 2015's low-budget horror "The Visit" (which he financed by re-mortgaging his home), it's been hard not to root for his movies at the box office. Shyamalan's filmography has had its ups ("Split") and downs ("Old") since then, but it's exciting to have a filmmaker consistently turning out original and unpredictable genre movies with a real auteur mark on them.
His latest offering, "Trap," stars Josh Hartnett as a serial killer who discovers that the pop star concert he's taken his daughter to is actually the stage for a police plot to ensnare him. It's a wild idea, inspired by an equally wild true story. Based on the opening day numbers, "Trap" will further cement Shyamalan's image as a plucky underdog by debuting in third place at the box office, behind "Twisters" (in second place) and the Marvel titan team-up "Deadpool & Wolverine.

The self-proclaimed Marvel Jesus is in for a big second coming. “Deadpool & Wolverine” is dominating the charts again after earning $28.3 million on Friday. As the Ryan Reynolds-Hugh Jackman superhero two-hander enters its sophomore frame, it has already surpassed a $300 million domestic total and now ranks as the second-highest-grossing domestic release of the year so far, surging past “Despicable Me 4” and “Dune: Part Two.”
What’s more, “Deadpool & Wolverine” seems primed to put up a much stronger hold than the average comic book adaptation. Superhero blockbusters can often see big drops in their second weekends after the first surge of fans have rushed to see the film. Rivals are putting the Disney release at a 55% drop though, demonstrating that “Deadpool & Wolverine” has immense appeal beyond Marvel diehards. The sequel has also maintains its play in premium large-format venues, like Imax auditoriums, this weekend.

M. Night Shyamalan is a divisive filmmaker; depending on who you ask the director is either a brilliant visionary or a man whose films are too flimsy to hold together. What nobody can deny about Shyamalan is that the man really, really loves movies. In a 2023 interview, he discussed a variety of his greatest cinematic influences with obvious enthusiasm, claiming he has a Blu-Ray collection of over 800 titles, and on Twitter, he frequently shares with his fans his Criterion Collection choices and recommendations.
Raised in the Philadelphia area by a Indian family, Shyamalan began his career with two small indie dramas before becoming one of the biggest breakout auteurs of his generation with “The Sixth Sense,” a cultural phenomenon that introduced the world to his earnest brand of horror and his signature love of plot twists. Prolific thriller filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan returned to theaters on August 2 with his latest film “Trap,” which stars Josh Hartnett and Ariel Donoghue as a father and daughter who attend a pop concert where there’s more going on than meets the eye. It wasn’t screened in advance for critics, but reviews trickled out on release day.

Warning: This article contains major spoilers for "Trap."
M. Night Shyamalan had made a thriving career out of movies that are far more than what initially meets the eye. Unfortunately, this has also resulted in a narrative that tends to water down all of his vast idiosyncrasies into a single, one-size-fits-all label. The filmmaker is now stuck with a reputation for incorporating plot twists into all of his movies ... even if this isn't even very accurate. In fact, an argument can be made that the majority of his movies don't contain twists at all. For every "The Sixth Sense" or "Unbreakable" or "The Village," there are many more straightforward efforts such as "Old," "Knock at the Cabin," and even "Signs."
Shyamalan's latest, "Trap," initially gave every indication of joining the category of movies that do contain truly shocking twists, what with Josh Hartnett's Cooper being revealed in the various trailers...

You never know what you’re going to get from an M. Night Shyamalan film. You might, occasionally, still get the patient, thoughtful auteur who made The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, and last year’s Knock at the Cabin. But more often than not, you’ll get some flavor of the weird, schlocky, Corman-esque scamp who made The Visit and Glass, high concepts executed with stylish conviction but let down by gloriously messy storytelling.
Trap is largely the work of the Shyamalan who brought made those latter films. It has a great concept that crumbles to pieces before you’re done asking the very first question about the screenplay’s paper-thin grasp on the logistics of the real world. But there’s almost enough genuinely enthralling intensity here to patch over the film’s weaknesses.

The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable director M. Night Shyamalan's latest movie, Trap, arrives in theaters today, and the review embargo has only just lifted.
This isn't usually a great sign, and sure enough, the serial killer flick starring Josh Hartnett is currently sitting at 44% on Rotten Tomatoes with 39 verdicts added.
Despite the "rotten" score, quite a few critics have been defending the movie on social media, although most seem to agree that - like a lot of Shyamalan films - the plot starts to get far too convoluted and preposterous in the final act.
Still, Hartnett is said to give a great performance, and it sounds like Trap is an effective enough cat-and-mouse thriller for the majority of its run-time.
Worth catching on the big screen or waiting for streaming? Have a read through some of the reactions/reviews below, and let us know in the comments section.

Am I talking about the protagonist of M. Night Shyamalan’s new thriller “Trap” here, or the man, Josh Hartnett, who plays him? As this silly, contrived, yet stylishly executed cat and mouse game reveals, Cooper is not just the father of a pop-star-obsessed tween. Night Shyamalan‘s 2023 apocalyptic thriller, and produced by Lindsey Anderson Beer, who wrote and made her feature directorial debut with the horror movie Pet Sematary: Bloodline for the studio last year, through her Lab Brew production company as part of her first-look deal with Paramount.
The plot is “set in a wilderness camp for troubled teens and tells of a 13-year-old boy named Ben who is sent there as part of a reform program. Although the counselors are overly happy, a sinister current runs through the place. The boys Ben befriends seem to have unique skills, which is lucky,...

There’s a strong contingency of the internet that preaches the gospel of M. Night Shyamalan. The director has one of the strangest career arcs of all time. Even today, you’ll hear that he’s a Wunderkind, washed up, or a secret genius. Trap, his latest film, seeks to contribute to his upward trajectory in recent years. Sadly, despite wanting to love Trap, its inconsistencies and atrocious storytelling sink the ship in the final half-hour.

Few directors inspire more ire than M. Night Shyamalan. Famed for his twists and turns, Shyamalan’s meteoric rise can only be matched by his shocking fall. There was a moment when he was framed as the next Steven Spielberg. Unfortunately, a string of poor movies left many unwilling to engage with his future hits. Whether he’s inconsistent or very particular, Shyamalan has survived in Hollywood, with Trap becoming movie number 16 in his storied career. We’re ranking his movies with Trap‘s release, and helping put your expectations in check.
16. The Last Airbender (2010)
One of the most frustrating blockbusters of the last thirty years, Shyamalan proved the wrong choice from the jump. He tried to put his stamp on the series, and failed in pretty much every way. Poor visuals and poor acting (aside from Asiv Mandvi & Dev Patel) killed any chance of a franchise. Beyond that, the...

Tom Cruise has reportedly filmed a skydiving segment for the 11th August Olympic handover. That’s one way for LA 2028 to make an entrance, we suppose.
Bring together a large group of people doing objectively risky feats of athleticism, and chances are you’ll scoop up Tom Cruise somewhere along the line. It’s a surprise the Top Gun star hasn’t turned up in Jackass yet.
Cruise, of course, is currently in Paris for the 2024 Olympics, and according to TMZ that’s not the only involvement he’s had with the sporting celebration, having filmed a segment for the closing ceremony back in March and potentially doing a bit of live rappelling into the Stade de France when the big event comes to a conclusion next week.
In the pre-recorded piece, the actor apparently skydives down to the Hollywood Sign as part of Paris’ handover to Los Angeles, which...
