Joel Kim Booster is apologizing to Shannon Storms Beador weeks after he took to social media to slam the Real Housewives of Orange County star.
Last month, the Fire Island star and creator called out Beador, alleging she mistreated crewmembers throughout filming on their upcoming Peacock Real Housewives dating show, currently dubbed Love Hotel. Booster, who is reportedly hosting the series, is now “deeply sorry” for his comments.

Joel Kim Booster is apologizing for his comments against The Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador.
The Fire Island star reportedly hosts a dating show set to stream on Peacock. The show will feature stars of Bravo’s The Real Housewives franchise. The Gotham Film and Media Institute announced on September 18 that it will present its special Ensemble Tribute Award to the cast of “The Piano Lesson,” which includes John David Washington, Danielle Deadwyler, Samuel L. Jackson, Ray Fisher, Michael Potts, Corey Hawkins and Erykah Badu. The film, set in 1936, tells the story of a Pittsburgh family brought together — and nearly torn apart — by a precious family heirloom. It’s based on the play by August Wilson, whose works “Fences” and “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” have also recently been adapted for the screen.
Jeffrey Sharp, Executive Director of The Gotham, said in a statement, “‘The Piano Lesson’ is a stunning adaptation, bringing August Wilson’s play to life with captivating cinematic artistry. Kiernan Shipka showed up in two very different, very major movies this year, but there's a fair chance you may have missed her in both. Spoiler alert for the first 15 minutes of Twisters, but by the time you may have processed that the bubbly, blonde weather enthusiast was Shipka, she was probably long gone.

Note: This story contains spoilers from “Industry” Season 3 Episode 3.
As “Industry” Season 3 heats up, Joel Kim Booster relished the opportunity to appear in a guest role in Sunday’s episode. Especially since he was already a fan of the HBO finance drama when he was offered the juicy part.
Booster, who also wrote, executive produced and starred in the 2022 film “Fire Island,” calls himself an “evangelist” for the show as he tries to bring more people into its devoted fandom.
“This might be the first time I’ve ever been cast on a show that I actually watch and love,” Booster told TheWrap during an interview about his role. “I’m not exactly in a position in my career right now where I get to seek out roles necessarily. I didn’t seek this out, and I was very blessed that they liked my work and had me in mind for this,...

Emmy voters are now halfway through final balloting for this year’s awards, making decisions about which drama and comedy series, limited series, talk series, variety series and specials, structured and unstructured reality programs, reality competition shows, animated programs, documentary and nonfiction programs and game shows they like best.
And, oh yeah, they’re also picking their favorite TV movies, although they probably won’t have to think too long or too hard about what seems to have become the Emmys’ least consequential category.
It wasn’t always like that. The Outstanding TV Movie category has produced some notable television, including “Death of a Salesman” with Lee J. Cobb, the ultimate tearjerker “Brian’s Song,” the shocking “Special Bulletin”and 21st century standouts “The Gathering Storm,” “Recount,” “Grey Gardens,” “Behind the Candelabra” and even last year’s winner, “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.”

Sandra Oh and Awkwafina proved to be a terrific duo this year in their hit Hulu telefilm “Quiz Lady.” The flick follows the pair as estranged sisters who must reunite and work together in order to pay for their mother’s gambling debts via the game show that one of them is obsessed with.
Oh and Awkwafina subvert expectations with their performances here with Oh playing the zany, wild sister and Awkwafina turning in a subdued performance as the awkward, restrained, quieter one. These dual performances have become the foundation of overwhelmingly positive notices for “Quiz Lady.”
Charles Bramesco (Indie Wire) opined: “The odd couple… shares a sensational chemistry, building on the base amusement of seeing Oh let her extension-laden hair down and Awkwafina crimp the straight-man character into weird new shapes.”
Emma Simmonds (Radio Times) observed: “Awkwafina and Sandra Oh prove a match made in comedy heaven in this...

Back in 1968, George A. Romero made his feature directorial debut with one of the greatest horror movies ever made, Night of the Living Dead – and while doing so, he also introduced the world to flesh-eating ghouls that became a new definition for the world “zombie.” Romero, who passed away in 2017, went on to make several more zombie movies over the decades… and last month, his daughter Tina Romero revealed that she will be making her own feature directorial debut with a zombie movie called Queens of the Dead. Hulu may have started out as the redheaded stepchild of the streamers back in Netflix’s heyday, but it has stuck around long enough to have firmly established itself as one of the old standbys. It follows, then, that Hulu would have a veritable fount of LGBTQ content ready to compete with the robust queer catalogues available to subscribers of Netflix, HBO, and other platforms.
A brief perusal of Hulu’s LGBTQ section doesn’t disappoint, but digging in deeper will give you the best chance at a genuinely memorable watch. Right now, the Disney-backed streamer is hosting popular queer television classics, like “The L Word,” “My So-Called Life,” and “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” alongside fresher fare, including “Everything’s Gonna Be Okay” and “Killing Eve.” Recent Hulu originals, such as “Love, Victor” and “Shrill,” deserve singling out, if only because you know they’re buzz-worthy and readily available on the service.

“All That We Love” is not, at first brush, a lovable film. Or perhaps the midlife crisis meets coming-of-age drama led by Margaret Cho is too lovable and therefore falls flat for its earnestness?
Cho stars as Emma, an empty nester who realizes just how alone she truly is after the death of her family dog Tanner. Emma is frustrated at work, faced with the return of her ex-husband Andy (Kenneth Choi), and forced to confront the fact that her daughter Maggie (Alice Lee) is relocating to Australia with her boyfriend (Devon Bostick). Basically, Emma is having a bad time. The only bright spot in Emma’s social circle, it seems, is her friendship with Stan (Jesse Tyler Ferguson), who is also dealing with a loss of his own…and a crisis reaction that includes purchasing a motorcycle.
As Stan comforts Emma, she begins to reevaluate the (non-canine) relationships in her life.

The Emmy category for Best TV Movie has had a renaissance in recent years, with more high profile projects being exclusive to the medium. In this golden TV era, the level of talent on screen and behind the camera is at an all-time high – showcased best by the level of competition here and Best Limited Series. Once so niche that they were a single combined category at the Emmys, the fields seem to get stronger and stronger every year. As a result, the list of this season’s potential TV movie nominees is incredible. Leading the pack (for me) is Amazon Prime Video’s “Red, White & Royal Blue.”
An adaptation of Casey McQuiston’s New York Times bestselling novel, the film depicts the rivalry and courtship between Henry (Nicholas Galitzine), a prince of England’s royal family, and Alex (Taylor Zakar Perez), the son of an American presidential candidate.

Joel Kim Booster is sharing why his focus is not on becoming a trailblazer.
The comedian-actor has established his name in the entertainment industry in recent years, notably with his 2022 Netflix stand-up special Psychosexual, Hulu’s gay romantic comedy Fire Island, which he wrote and starred in, and his role in the TV series Loot.
“It’s difficult because I am not somebody who went into this wanting to be an advocate or a trailblazer or anything — I just wanted to make people laugh,” he recently explained to People magazine. “All the rest of it is a byproduct. You cannot prioritize it. You cannot be mission first, joke second and be successful.”
Booster said it actually makes him “really uncomfortable” when people call him a “trailblazer” as he feels the term should be used for comedians who helped pave the way for others. And particularly those who came before him...

There are a plenty of longtime Saturday Night cast members, yet there were no big exits — or hints of departures — on tonight’s Season 49 finale of the venerable NBC late-night program.
No SNL veterans were tearing up at the end of their sketches like Kate McKinnon did in the 2022 finale, it was all smiles and fist bumps at the curtain call, and, after another brutal joke swap, Colin Jost and Michael Che wrapped their 10th season together on Weekend Update by wishing everyone a great summer.
This was to be expected, given that no one from this year’s 17-strong troupe would willingly miss next year’s big celebrations – The Big 50.
Host Jake Gyllenhaal set the stage for what is to come in his opening monologue, noting that the finale was “the last episode before the big anniversary season.”

Bowen Yang realized that he couldn’t defy gravity — or sleep deprivation — when filming “Wicked.”
The “SNL” star told Vanity Fair that he found it “mentally fraying” to fly back and forth between the “Wicked” production in London and his weekly sketch series in New York City. Even “SNL” creator Lorne Michaels seemingly warned Yang against spreading himself too thin.
“This is when Lorne Michaels comes in,” Yang said. “Whatever you think about the situation, however you think it’s unique to you, however you think you might be the exception to the rule, Lorne is here to be like, ‘Actually, it might not be so good on the body for you to fly back and forth between New York and London to go shoot a movie.'”

Before you make your 2024 Emmy predictions for Best TV Movie, take a look through our photo gallery featuring the telefilms most likely to land in this year’s lineup. As it stands, Peacock’s “Mr. Monk’s Last Case” (a continuation of the eight-time Emmy-winning 2000s comedy series “Monk”) is comfortably leading the race.
“Mr. Monk’s Last Case” would be the first Peacock movie ever nominated in this category, as would “Genie” or “Shooting Stars.”
Last year, Hulu’s “Fire Island” and “Prey” were both passed over in favor of The Roku Channel’s “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story,” but the streamer could soon avenge those losses with “No One Will Save You,” “Quiz Lady,” or “Self Reliance.”
Netflix – which won this award for three “Black Mirror” installments (2017-2019) as well as “Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square” (2021) – can now achieve its fifth victory with “Scoop” or “Unfrosted.”

The trio took a break from the fine dining scene in Los Angeles and traveled to Park City for the Sundance Film Festival to talk up their show, which debuts Jan. 24 on Freeform. “Chrissy and Dave Dine Out” follows Teigen, Chang (founder of Momofuku and creator of Netflix’s “Ugly Delicious”) and Booster (the writer and star of Searchlight’s “Fire Island”) as they indulge at Michelin-star restaurants with famous friends like Simu Liu, Jimmy Kimmel, Kumail Nanjiani and Regina Hall. In between bites of savory pizza and fresh sushi, they swap stories about everything from their sex lives to the importance of representation in Hollywood.

Exclusive: After seeing Searchlight Pictures release his acclaimed queer rom-com Fire Island via Hulu, Joel Kim Booster is back in business with the studio as the writer and producer of Again Again Again, a spec that it snapped up for development ahead of last year’s WGA strike.
Eyed as a potential starring vehicle for Booster, the film centers on Gus, who as the man of honor for his closest friend Maggie’s extravagant wedding weekend at a Napa winery, is tasked with making sure the whole event goes off without a hitch. But when Gus’s wildly charismatic but emotionally unstable boyfriend Hal shows up unexpectedly, chaos ensues and threatens to derail the wedding as well as their relationship.
Aboard to produce the pic alongside Booster are Local Time’s Lulu Wang and Daniele Tate Melia, the duo behind the hugely acclaimed family dramedy The Farewell, written and directed for A24 by Wang.

“Loot” star Joel Kim Booster teased a “better” and more humor-heavy second season of the AppleTV+ comedy in which he portrays Nicholas alongside Maya Rudolph’s Molly Novak, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez’s Sofia and Ron Funches’ Howard.
The producer, writer and comedian attended the 75th Emmys with two nominations for “Fire Island”: Outstanding Television Movie and Outstanding Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.
“It’s a much more joke-dense season because we know our voices and the kinds of jokes we can make, and so it’s much faster and funnier. You saw the relationships in Season 1, me and Howard, Molly and Sofia, and we sort of switch it up a little bit. We’re putting people together for stories that maybe didn’t get a chance to play last season, and it’s a lot of fun,” he told TheWrap on the Emmys red carpet,...
