ABC is making some decisions about its remaining pilots, and it's bad news for three promising ideas.
Kevin Costner-executive produced National Parks Investigation, Triage, and Dark Horse are no longer moving ahead at the network.
The good news is that National Parks Investigation and Dark Horse are both being shopped to other outlets, but the jury is out on whether Triage will be shopped.
National Parks follows the elite special agents of the Investigative Services Branch who are tasked with solving the most complex and heinous crimes committed within the diverse and majestic National Parks of the Isb’s Pacific West region.
The cast included Billy Cambell, Angel Parker, Gerardo Celasco, Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut, Blu Hunt, Tiffany Dupont, and Guillermo Diaz.

ABC believes that its year-round development cycle will mean that it can give creators of pilots such as Kevin Costner’s National Parks and Epic from Once Upon a Time creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis a better shot of landing on the schedule.

It’s the first week of May, which is normally when Deadline does its final handicapping of the new crop of broadcast pilots’ pickup changes. As the TV industry — and the country — are starting to see the first signs of a return to normalcy, the broadcast networks are gearing up for the upfronts, in their usual timeframe just two weeks away. However, the pilot evaluation process is anything but conventional this year after the 2020 pilot cycle was delayed by the pandemic, so we see 2020 pilots being screened alongside 2021 ones and pilot-to-series orders being handed out alongside straight-to-series pickups and off-cycle pilot green lights.
It is risky trying to make any predictions this year, but, keeping up a Deadline tradition, here is what I hear is going on at the five broadcast networks.

A fairytale drama of epic proportions is brewing at ABC.
Brittany O'Grady has landed the lead role of Luna in the network's pilot, Epic, which comes from Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis (Once Upon a Time).
Deadline first reported the news, revealing that Luna is a princess changed by a broken heart.
She does not believe in love stories, but “she is about to find herself caught in the most epic one of all — her own.”
It's an intriguing hook, but we should make one thing clear:
This is not a Once Upon a Time spinoff. It's a standalone series that will put a new spin on classic Disney fairytales.
The cast also includes Eleanor Fanyinka, who is set to play a character named The Seer.
Epic is described as “a romantic anthology series set in the fairytale universe of Disney… taking place in a Disney-like Enchanted Forest.”
