Kids Love It; Navigation Doesn't

Octonauts is one of my daughter's favorites. It is fun, mildly educational, but at times you want to cringe. Early on, the Octopod is on the wrong side of Mexico from the Caribbean. They state that they would have to go all the way around South America to get to their destination. Apparently the Panama Canal does not exist in their world. It is either that or Captain Barnacles is too cheap to spring for a one way ticket through the canal? This whole movie seems like a vehicle for Dashi.
