The premiere was delayed from May 2021 until July 2021 out of respect for the death of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh in April.
No members of the royal family co-operated with the series.
This is the second project Sophie Turner and Iwan Rheon have done together. Previously, they portrayed Sansa Stark and Ramsay Bolton in Game of Thrones (2011), Rheon was Turner's captor/husband. In this they portray father/daughter.
Condola Rashad (Meghan Markle) and Orlando Bloom (Prince Harry) previously starred together in the title roles of a Broadway production of "Romeo and Juliet" (2013).
