Freudian depth psychology meets gruesome serial killings. What a challenging storyline. Wonderful aesthetic, great voice acting, very clever dialogue script. Watched all 13 parts on one day! 9.5/10!

I was leaning towards a 10 but I thought I should save it, but honestly, this anime is a 9.5 in my book. It's visuals are amazing and probably my favorite aesthetic of the season, the style and color pallet look amazing to me. On top of that the music is absolutely amazing, I have both op and ed saved to my playlist. The story is intriguing and keeps you waiting for the next episode keeping a detective theme with sci fi elements. The characters are done quite well and they all feel quite three dimensional. The anime excels in every category and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
This anime definitely is worth a watch.I do not regret watching totally in my top 10 this year.
Good things come to those who wait? Yes indeed.
Why are the episodes rated high from episode 8 onwards?!
Find it out yourself, Be patient!!!

Inception meets anime.
-interesting concept and ideas that are well explored without the need to become overly philosophical.
-solid plot. Varied stories that comverge together for a final showdown.
-engaging, thoughtful and well-paced.
-has a good conclusive ending, but just open enough for a sequel if there were to be one.
-solid animation, if not spectacular - makes up for it with some solid art direction for the id wells.

- GREAT characters. All have their own personalities, even minor members of the ID team are personable

To have more understanding of the series try learning something about Freud's definition of Id, Ego, and Super-Ego.
I just don't understand why people have given this series such low ratings to make the average a mere 7.

First, I need to clear that this is vreat anime and worth watching. It has borrowed lots of ideas from the famous show Psycho-pass but it doesn't look like a copy paste. It has made the ideas for its own and I appreciate that. Although I like the experience it suffers from many plot holes and lack of character development. Don't get me wrong I love the fact that story is focused and doesn't waste the audience time with showing every characters background. But sometimes in order for story to move on we might need more out of the character. My major problem with this show is the quality of the anime and the lack of imagination in direction. The quality is not great. Character design and world building could a million times better. Imagine this had the quality and the artistic direction of Psycho-pass. Nonetheless it's a good anime with good ideas. I recommend it.

This anime is about Akihito Narihisago, a prisoner and an ex-policeman who helps the police solve murder cases through a machine that accesses the killer's subconscious. This anime show covers how Akihito Narihisago became a criminal, the machine Mizuhanome, commonalities between criminals, John Walker, Kaeru's death etc.
This show has an amazing plot as it resembles the concept of Inception used in a Murder Mystery story. The Anime has a good start and intrigued me in the very first episode. The story gets exciting as the plot gets revealed and questions new theories on the crimes and criminals. The twists and turns were good as the characters evolved in the story and gave new perspectives on things they faced. Criminals like Perforator and the Gravedigger were written well as they pose serious threats and contribute to the anime.
The Victim Kaeru creates the mysteries around the machine Mizuhanome, and Akihito and her backstory were written well. The newbie Koharu Hondomachi plays a vital role in the investigation even after a terrible experience, showing her will, dedication, cognitive ability, etc. The unique "ID Well" for each criminal to pose their characteristics and personalities, etc, were designed well and set different conflicts for the Brilliant Detectives. Every character had a good arc in the anime.
I see some drawbacks to the anime. The character John Walker was not developed well enough to be the final boss, and the twist revealing who might be John Walker is predictable in the previous episode. But the story was told well enough without any distraction or diversion within the 13 episodes.
I watched it in English dub, the voice acting was good and fit every character. The animation was amazing as each "Id Well" were good. The songs and music are used well throughout the anime.
In conclusion, I liked this anime. I would suggest this anime to watch if you like the sci-fi thriller genre.

I watched the first episode and though meh this is alright, but wasn't blown away. It's a well written show and the detective genre in anime isn't a long list of shows so I'm always interested in a new one. Put off watching the second episode for a while but when I finally watched it I was blown away, the pace and show took a twist and just improved so much I got sucked in. Give it a chance at least through the second episode before you make a decision.

Boring, repetitive, slow, and confusing. It's just a messy jumble of ideas. It's a complete waste of time. I tried to keep watching, hoping that it would get better. I watched until episode 6 and it just kept getting more and more repetitive and boring.
It's NOTHING like psycho pass. Psycho pass was amazing. This is trash.

Many people will Pass this show because THEY HAVE TO USE THERE GOD DAMN HEAD IN THIS SHOW TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING even though the show is trying to give you hints each time.
Like last year winter this year doesn't have popular anime that is creating buzz in the anime community. That goes same for this show which is obviously and anime original goes unnoticed mostly.
There are not many shows out there that can keep you hooked and asked about your existence but this show is one of those show which is dark, gore, need proper observation and yes keeps you always edge of your seat with its unique concept (if you haven't watched Inception, source code and minority report).
The main reason that this show is not highly rated on IMDB because the way of story telling is Confusing and often people will lost track about what is going on.
But once you Understand the story it very beautifully executed with less to non plot holes which is a great thing about a mystery thriller show. YOU WILL LOVE IT...
You should give it a try .... and yes BE PATIENT...
Great history, it catch me immediately, I like the sophistication of how to resolve the crimes by exploring the mind of the criminals. Also this anime remember me the film Inception. I hope the creators of this anime keep working to release soon the season two; I watched the Spanish version. But I think the English version should be good too.
Could be great to see a live action film or series on any streaming platform soon. Also a video game of this anime should be considered for the creators to release soon. I just imagine a video game exploring and resolving crimes like the anime using the minds of the criminals.

The plot was very unique to say the least. The show is based around a machine that is used that allows the detective to dive "wells" from serial killers (which can be seen as their unconscious). Through these wells the deceives figure out who the serial killer is and who their victims are/will be. I really enjoyed the story over all and there were many twists that I did not expect. Some of the characters in this show are pretty basic and don't have any development. But the main character and even two side characters have development that drive the story. Throughout the show, the main character's story is revealed slowly as his character develops. Sakaido has got to be one of my favourite characters at the moment (especially due to his voice acting, his voice actor has a great voice and displays emotions very well). I really enjoyed the show and I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of mystery, thriller, or detective shows. The strong point was definitely how unique the plot was.

This is like an Inception movie made into a Japanese Anime Series. The story and how it's presented. The use of tech/virtual reality to explore a killers mind is quite something. It really details how broken, or just puzzled one's mind can be. Which I really find interesting, as it's done in a unique simulation way, and every case has something different to offer. Which is a major plus. The story was short and was not prolonged or made boring which is the best part.
Wakumusubi is a device in ID: Invaded used to complement the Mizuhanome System that aids homicidal investigations. This device detects the cognition particles that come from an individual's unconscious drive to kill. If a pattern matches a suspect, the particles are converted and uploaded to the Mizuhanome System, and an id well based on the individual's state of mind defined by the particles is created. The associated particles can be scanned again to reset an existing id well into a new form or with slight changes.

I can't say I hate the show, but I can't say I understand all the rave reviews either. ID:Invaded wants to be an edgy psychological drama like the far superior Psycho -Pass, but lacks the necessary ingredients, ie edginess, psychological intrigue, and dramatic tension. I mean, for crying out loud, I figured out who the main Big Baddie was in the first episode - it's not that difficult to deduce! The story seems unnecessarily convoluted, which I guess it has to be since it's got nothing else going for it, its premise and technology reminding me so much of Minority Report and Inception. All but a couple of the characters are paper-thin as far as development, and even those with slightly more depth we really don't come to know all that well beyond basic emotional drives (one loves and misses his family, one's super into serial killers, etc). I think what bothered me most watching this short (thankfully) anime series was the animation, which wasn't pleasing or eye-catching or particularly well-done at all. In fact, it looked rather cheap and sloppy.
I watched ID:Invaded from first to last episode - so you can't say I didn't give it a chance - and I just can't recommend it. Your time would be better spent watching Psycho-Pass, Darker Than Black, Monster, Plastic Memories, B: The Beginning, or Ghost in the Shell S. A. C.
