This movie has chances to become the reference documentary about Jessye Norman. The film is structured as an interview where she spokes about her life and career, but mostly about music and how she approaches different types of creation interleaved with musical fragments beautifully filmed, especially the original ones. The film is interesting, giving an insight on her career, approach to music, what she likes and what she dislikes on the contemporary music scene where she lives. We learned less about her personal life, but this is on purpose, she means to say and the makers of the movie accepted that her art is more important about her private life. A few political opinions could have been kept out of the film, or maybe not, as they are part of her personality. Overall this is a good, solid, interesting documentary about one of the greatest singers of our times, with a lot of splendid music of her inside.
