Like he did in Baazi, even in Mahal, Dev Anand's character frequents the casino and gambling houses where he is always lucky and wins good amount of money.
Hotel Mount Everest in which Dev Anand stays in Darjeeling, has once hosted Mohd. Ali Jinnah and Amitabh Bachchan. It suffered major damage due to fire and was to be pulled down, to build a housing complex and a hotel.
The palatial house of Raja Dinanath with blue round dome roof is actually the Burdwan Palace or Rani Kothi of Darjeeling.
Kalyanji Anandji's Dance Music (which was only on the LP record) was used in the Dev Anand gambling scene in the beginning of the film. The music was later sampled by Costah Dollah's song "Gibela", at 1:47.
