The white slave trade was a subject of the French thirties : "marchands de filles" , "des femmes disparaissent " and countless others. In the sixties ,it had become an anachronism.
They hypocritically issued a warning: "naive young girl can be lured into white slave trade,but some of them rebel and one hopes that ,one day, we will put an end to these dirty deeds ....Blah !blah !blah!";actually the movie was essentially made to attract the male audience .
This is an extremely lousy film ,badly written, awfully directed ,with a desultory editing to boot : motorboat chase ,car chase, but the highlight ,so to speak ,is the punishment they inflict on recalcitrants : to work on a farm where they have to feed the pigs and to clear the pigsty :it has to be seen to be believed !
The actors had seen better days : Magali Noel often worked with Fellini ,Paul Guers played Tennessee Williams and Henry De Montherlant on stage. A far cry from this bomb!
The cop 's final line is quite an understatement : "there's still a lot of work to be done"
