Kayleigh Choiniere
- Actress
- Costume Designer
- Costume and Wardrobe Department
A devastated five-year-old Kayleigh Choiniere found out right before her circus school performance debut that Geri Halliwell had quit the Spice Girls. Instead of retreating in her grief, little Kayleigh knew that the show had to go on. This, while ridiculous, encapsulates her perfectly. She is a hard-working, sensitive, and passionate Gemini with a dedication to performance and professionalism, even in a moment of overwhelming heartbreak.
Born at home to twenty-two-year-old grunge kids in 1992 in Montreal, Kayleigh always felt a propensity for rebellion and a spiritual connection to Frances Bean Cobain and her parents. Being a child of the arts, she was home-schooled while she attended circus school. She was bitten by the acting bug upon seeing the Titanic in theatres at 5 years old. Young, yes, but her parents were sent a message from the divine to take her to see it. It became her life long mission to act in the film alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. She began studying at the bilingual performing arts school, F.A.C.E., for both elementary and high school where she flourished as a flautist and multi-disciplinary artist. She graduated with honours from Dawson College's Professional Theatre acting training program in 2012, where she played a wide range of roles to much acclaim.
While Kayleigh's primary love is for acting, thrives wearing several hats. She has designed costumes for stage and film for as long as she has been acting
Kayleigh organizes, produces, and stars in an ongoing theatrical charity event series benefiting the Montreal Sexual Assault Centre, Chez Doris, the Canadian HIV/AIDs Legal Network and helps organize a body-positive dance class which raises money for different organizations that support the Queer community. She is also a member of the ACTRA Women's Committee and LGBTQS2+ Committee, where members gather to advocate for gender equity, equality, inclusion, representation, and education.
Kayleigh loves her work fiercely but hopes to not take it, and life, too seriously. Buy her a nice big glass of natural wine, and she'll tell you all her secrets.
