Jan Fischer is a Czech politician who was Prime Minister of the Czech Republic from May 2009 to June 2010, heading a caretaker government. A lifelong statistician, he was previously the president of the Czech Statistical Office, beginning in April 2003. In 2012, Fischer announced his candidacy for the 2013 presidential election. In the 1st round of the election held in January 2013, he placed 3rd with 16,35% (841 437 votes). He didn't qualify for the second round.
