Music composer, writer and musician. He composes movie and theatre
soundtracks and produces music albums. He writes lyrics, theatre plays
and movie scripts.
Engin Bayrak was born in Germany, in 1979. He is the youngest son of a family who migrated from former Yugoslavia in 1957. He came to Turkey with his family when he was five. He grew up among the immigrants who played musical instruments in Çamdibi, Izmir, in Turkey. In time he developed an interest in the polyphony of Balkan Music. He wrote stories when little. He graduated from the Department of Mathematics in Ege University and wrote a thesis called 'Music in Mathematics'. He studied madam and composition in the Turkish Art Music Department of Karsiyaka Municipality Conservatory. He composed music for movies, state theaters, universities and also for amateur and independent theatre companies. Many movies and theatre plays that he composed music for won prizes in competitions.
In the course of time he has started to write his own lyrics, theatre plays, film scripts and to make music for the texts he has written himself. After making the Audio Design/ Audio Composition of of some of the Short Films that he composed music for, he also started serving as the 'music director' both for his own projects and also for the ones he accepted.
