Broadway couple Taylor Frey and Kyle Dean Massey are celebrating the premiere of their latest project!

The married couple and fathers-of-two were joined by co-star Rick Cosnett while attending the premiere of their holiday rom-com The Holiday Exchange on Thursday (September 26) at the Garry Marshall Theatre in Burbank, Calif.

Also in attendance were co-stars Kyle Richards, Daniel Garcia, Colton Tran, Blake Cooper Griffin, Joe Aaron Reid, Ashley Fink, and Lee Jones, plus director Jake Helgren.

Here’s the synopsis: “Wilde (Frey) must cope with vacationing as a bachelor, so he decides to swap houses on an LGBTQ app with Oliver (Cosnett). In their efforts to escape their woes they end up meeting two locals who set romance on fire from LA to the charming town of Brilfax.”

The Holiday Exchange will be released on Tubi on October 1.

The 42-year-old and 38-year-old Broadway stars confirmed the happy news on Sunday (May 5) on social media.

The Broadway stars just announced that they are expecting their second child via surrogate after welcoming their daughter Rafa into the world back in 2021.

Kyle, 41, and Taylor, 34, aren’t just actors – they help other hopeful parents in the surrogacy process through their company Elevate.

“It takes an enormous amount of advanced planning,” Taylor told People. “Each step is intentional and deliberate and I’ve been so patient to go again because our priority has been to match our clients with surrogates before ourselves.”

Kyle and Taylor opened up about the surrogate they are working with.

“She’s incredible!” Kyle said. “She’s been so thoughtful about this entire journey. We feel privileged to have been selected by her. Our first pregnancy was during Covid and there were so many restrictions when it came to attending appointments and traveling.

Producers of Broadway’s Company have completed casting with the hiring of Manu Narayan, who takes over the role of Theo previously filled by Kyle Dean Massey.

Company, Marianne Elliott’s reimagined production of the Stephen Sondheim/George Furth musical starring Katrina Lenk and Patti LuPone, will begin Broadway performances a month earlier than previously announced, with the new preview date now set for Monday, Nov. 15.

The official opening night is now Thursday, Dec. 9 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, a full month earlier than the previously announced opening.

Producers today also confirmed the return of nearly the entire cast from the show’s shutdown-interrupted run in March 2020. A replacement for original cast member Kyle Dean Massey will be announced in the coming weeks, producers said.

Kyle Dean Massey has announced that he will not return to the Broadway revival of Company when it resumes performances post-shutdown this December.

In a since-expired Instagram story, Massey, who, with husband Taylor Frey is expecting the couple’s first child this fall, wrote that he feels “very sad about withdrawing” from the Sondheim musical, but “I will be getting something pretty spectacular in return.”

“I loved getting to work with the entire group of creatives, actors, musicians and crew,” Massey wrote. “But as you may be aware, Taylor and I are expecting our first child this fall and I want to be 100% present for that.”

Even last year, as Covid-19 was in its first months of devastating New York City and had already scotched the planned opening night of the 50th anniversary Broadway production of Company –– an opening night that also would have marked the composer’s 90th birthday — the theater community came together, virtually and a month after the fact, to sing the great man’s songs in a remarkable, precedent-setting Zoom-style benefit event. Rashidra Scott (Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of The Temptations) has been cast in the role of Susan for Marianne Elliott’s upcoming Broadway revival of the Stephen Sondheim/George Furth musical Company.

The additional casting for director Marianne Elliott’s gender-reversed Company was announced today by producers Elliott & Harper Productions and The Shubert Organization. The production, an Oliver Award winner in its West End bow, recasts the 1970 musical’s lead character, the bachelor Bobby, as the bachelorette Bobbie, to be played by Lenk (The Band’s Visit).

As previously announced with Lenk, LuPone will play Joanne, the “Ladies Who Lunch” role famously created by Elaine Stritch.

Company will begin performances at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on Monday, March 2, 2020 with an official opening night set for Sunday, March 22 (Sondheim’s 90th birthday). Sondheim and Elliott collaborated to update the musical.

Hallmark announced its 2019 holiday movie lineup on Wednesday — and it’s packed with romance, family reunions and all the wintery goodness imaginable.

The special 10th anniversary edition of the top-rated programming event, Countdown to Christmas, begins in October on the Hallmark Channel and encompasses 24 new, original holiday movies. Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ Miracles of Christmas will also premiere 16 new films.

Nashville will be making GLAAD happy, as they announced they will have an opening gay character coming up. It is their attempt to match the more recent times of the first ever openly gay country singer who came out last year. They hired Broadway star Kyle Dean Massey to play their character, Kevin Bicks. Kevin will be a successful star who happens to let the world know who his loves openly. No word yet on when we can expect for his character to pop in or how they will introduce him.

It will be interesting to see how the country music scene will react. Nashville has always painted the music scene more dramatic than it is and this could be another example of that. Hopefully their team can clear some of this up as I am thinking we may see a backlash with this choice of a new character.

Pippin‘s Kyle Dean Massey will join the ABC series in the recurring role of out-and-proud singer Kevin Bicks, our sister site Deadline reports.

Kevin is a successful country artist who happens to like guys, and his very existence deflates Will’s theory that the genre will never accept a gay superstar.

Massey’s other TV gigs include The Good Wife, Inside Amy Schumer and Hart of Dixie.
