Yngvild Støen Grotmol

Yngvild Støen Grotmol was born in Norway and grew up in Oslo with her parents and her older sister.
in her younger years, she and her family moved to San Francisco, where her parents, Dr. Randi Støen and Dr. Tom Grotmol did medical research at UCSF for a couple of years.
Yngvild was drawn to the arts early and played the violin and the piano. She loved singing and being on stage in school plays.
When she was 15, she moved to the The Dominican Republic as an exchange student where she learned Spanish. Yngvild studied at the music high school Foss Videregående skole, in Oslo, with jazz singing as her main instrument.
The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in NYC, was the first acting school Yngvild attended. She also studied acting at Rose Bruford in England and three years at The Nordic Institute of scene and studio in Oslo. She studied linguistics, psychology, and theatre history at the University of Oslo.
Yngvild is an accomplished actress across all genres, drama as well as comedy, and she has worked in theatre, musicals, cabarets, films and TV-series.
She is know through out Scandinavia from series and movies like Seks som oss, Upperdog and Cybergullet and her first lead came in the sit-com Schmokk.
In 2020 Yngvild was nominated in the category "best supporting actress" for the feature film Alle utlendinger har lukka gardiner in the Amanda awards, where she was nominated for the Amanda awards.
Yngvild played one of the main characters in Jarl Emsell Larsen's award-winning Norwegian TV-series "Øyevitne" (2014). In Denmark she's known for her character in the award-winning TV-series Herrens Veje (ride upon the storm) where they made history in filming the first lesbian love scene on Danish TV.
In 2022 Yngvild starred in the very controversial Norwegian Netflix-series The Lørenskog disappearance, the series was one of the most watched shows in Scandinavia as well as many other countries across the world.
Recently you can see her as Gudrid in the hit Netflix-series Vikings Valhalla season 2 which premiered January 2023.
Yngvild and is also a professional singer, musician and frequently does voice-acting, voice-over for animated movies and audio-books.
