Justin Harding’s Carved, based on the filmmaker’s 2018 short of the same name, falls victim to typical short-turned-feature issues that Brandon Espy’s Mr. Crocket better sidesteps. It's a bite-sized idea in a king-sized wrapper. Hulu's latest "Huluween" treat is stale, dismissively tropey, and cannot sustain its elongated duration. Save for a smattering of body-hacking practical effects, Carved is an unenthusiastic holiday dud that’s not worth its momentary highlights of violent pumpkin-inflicted punishments.

From its humble beginnings as a short film delighting Halloween fans in 2018, Carved has sprouted into a full-fledged slasher tale that’s sure to satisfy seekers of seasonal scares.
At the helm is writer-director Justin Harding, whose creative killer pumpkin concept makes its grand entrance on Hulu. Transplanting hallowed harvest traditions from five minutes to ninety-four, this feature presentation challenges whether its expanded format can justify stretching such a simple yet splendid setup.
Wrangling a mutation of Mother Nature gone mad, the movie maintains memorable pieces of its short film origins while shaping new story beats around an unforgettable monster.
Set among the quaint charms and characters of a New England village, Carved cultivates an atmosphere ripe with the spirit of the season before darkness descends. When Halloween hijinks turn hellish, our Final Girl and her band of misfits must outwit the outlandish forces that threaten their very insides.

The ending of Vikings: Valhalla season 3 felt like an episode of House of the Dragon, where we saw a group of Earls swearing their loyalty towards a woman, Queen Emma, who would sit on the throne of England in the event of Canute’s death. To Emma, it seemed like a dream come true, but all the men in the room, including Canute, knew that it was all a ruse. The Earls feared Canute’s great Viking army, which is why they bowed their heads to him, but a woman seemed harmless to them. Both Canute and Earl Godwin were aware of the fact that England would be thrust into civil war as soon as Canute drew his last breath. At this juncture, Godwin advised Emma to make her eldest son, Edward, the next King of England, and she could be his regent, ruling alongside him. But who would have...

There are stories of coincidence and chance, of intersections and strange things told, and which is which and who only knows? And we generally say, ‘Well, if that was in a movie, I wouldn’t believe it.’ Well, believe it, because all of what follows actually happened during the making of Paul Thomas Anderson’s 1999 film Magnolia.
A film and production of gambles, absurdities, forgiveness, and reckonings, Magnolia evolved from what would be the final shot of the film – a smile, a symbol of hope in a world of misery, lost drive and…frogs – into one of the most divisive, memorable and best films of the century.
So, let’s get our buzzers ready and wise up as we find out: What happened to this movie?!

Tyler the Creator reunited with fellow Odd Future member, Earl Sweatshirt, during his headlining performance at weekend two of Coachella 2024.
Joining Tyler for renditions of “AssMilk” (its first performance since 2014) and “Rusty,” Earl’s appearance marked the highlight of an otherwise guest-less set. Still, the joy the two expressed at sharing a stage again came across.
Calling Earl his “brother,” Tyler said, “I love this guy so fucking much.” After “Rusty,” the two embraced with a hug, and Earl turned to face Tyler’s stunning, desert-landscape-themed stage, saying “Look at the biggest show on Earth!” Watch videos of the performances below.
Elsewhere in his set, Tyler made allusions to another former collaborator: Frank Ocean. During the intro to the two’s duet, “She,” Tyler told the crowd to “sing the song” if they knew it, because Ocean was “not coming out.”

Lady Louise Windsor is likely to never know life as a working royal. An expert says it’s “doubtful” the 20-year-old daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, will ever formally represent the monarchy. Instead, she’s poised to take after one of her non-working royal cousins. Why? The “most common complaint” about the British royal family: cost.
The ‘cost too much’ complaint is expected to keep Louise from working royal life
According to royal expert Jennie Bond, Louise isn’t on her way to becoming a working royal. Yes, even in light of King Charles III and Kate Middleton being diagnosed with cancer.
The reason, she told Ok! Magazine, is the “most common complaint” about the royal family, how much they cost taxpayers.
“It’s clear that for the next 15 years or so, depending on when Prince George decides to take up, full-time royal duties,...

The royal family has been going through a lot ever since the start of 2024. In January, the palace announced that Kate Middleton had undergone a planned abdominal surgery and would be out of royal duties for about two months. Shortly after, King Charles revealed he had been diagnosed with cancer after undergoing a prostate procedure. And things only became more difficult when Kate Middleton announced she has been diagnosed with cancer as well.
Now, with Kate and Charles out on medical leave and Prince William and Camilla Parker Bowles taking care of them, the public could start seeing a lot more of Prince Edward, Charles’ youngest sibling.

Having established herself at the BBC with the police procedural “Happy Valley” and the crossdressing costume drama “Gentleman Jack,” screenwriter-turned-showrunner Sally Wainwright has followed countless creatives and taken the Disney shilling to initiate her latest project. You can hardly blame her, given the reduced offer the cash-strapped British broadcaster is now extending even to its more illustrious dramaturges: rarely more than three episodes per series and four characters per scene. Imposed by post-Brexit belt-tightening, this sorry set of limitations has exasperated those obliged to work within them while dispiriting viewers, left watching the life — and the talent — drain from primetime broadcasts.

1705. England is a mess. Society is crooked. The rich stamp on the poor and nobody, from the gouty magistrates to Queen “Brandy Nan” Anne, is doing a damn thing about it. The people need a hero, and Happy Valley and Gentleman Jack’s Sally Wainwright has written them one in Nelly Jackson.
Played by Derry Girls’ Louisa Harland, Nell is a kickass 18th century action hero infused with supernatural strength by her spirit sidekick Billy Blind (a winged Nick Mohammed from Ted Lasso).
