“Kevin Can Wait” has been canceled by CBS after two season, Variety has learned.
The CBS sitcom stars Kevin James, Leah Remini, Taylor Spreitler, Mary-Charles Jones, James Digiacomo, Ryan Cartwright, Lenny Venito, Gary Valentine, and Leonard Earl Howze. James, Rock Reuben, Rob Long, Jeff Sussman, Andy Fickman, Tony Sheehan, and Steve Mosko are executive producers for Sony Pictures TV and CBS Television Studios.
“Kevin Can Wait” underwent a creative overhaul between seasons one and two, with original co-star Erinn Hayes’ character written off the show and Remini joining the cast, reuniting James with his former “King of Queens” co-star.
But the show still saw a big ratings slide in its second season. The cancelation after investing in two seasons is a tough cut for Sony Pictures Television, which will shop the series to other buyers.

'Money Monster' with George Clooney and Jack O'Connell: TV celebrity and unwise investor/hostage taker. 'Money Monster' review: Jodie Foster movie suffers from both qualitative and intellectual disconnect Sometimes there's a difference between what a movie thinks it is and what it actually is. Usually it's a qualitative disconnect, as in “this movie thinks it's exciting but it's actually boring” or “this movie assumes Kevin Hart is funny when, in fact, he's not.” In the case of Money Monster, the divide is also an intellectual versus anti-intellectual one. The fourth film directed by Jodie Foster fancies itself a ripped from the headlines wail from the bottom of the economic ladder. A thriller-cum-exposé into how Wall Street and big media suckered average Americans into following the Pied Pipers of TV's financial punditry class over the cliff into economic ruin. However, the movie we're really getting is...

To this day, it still bugs me that more people didn’t give Jodie Foster’s previous directorial outing The Beaver a chance. I can understand why it was shunned, having had the misfortune of being released at the height of star Mel Gibson’s unpopularity, but still. Foster and the film deserved better. Now, she seeks at the very least some box office redemption with Money Monster, a high profile thriller. Debuting earlier today at the Cannes Film Festival, I’ve already seen the movie and can vouch for it as a solid outing by Foster. It doesn’t really break any new ground, but it’s entertaining, which certainly counts for something. You’ll see what I mean later this week, when the flick hits theaters. The movie is a financial thriller of sorts, set within the world of a hostage situation. Lee Gates (George Clooney) is the...

By taking a proven premise first time director Theodore Melfi is clearing hoping his first time is not also his last time.
Bad Santa, the original Bad News Bears, and even The Mighty Ducks have used this idea with staggering success. Typically the key to making it work is getting right cantankerous man to play the part. It's time for the aliens to go home. ABC has cancelled The Neighbors after two seasons and 44 episodes.
A family sitcom, The Neighbors follows the Weaver clan as they try to live in a beautiful gated community that's filled with alien visitors from the planet Zabvron. After a first season of mediocre ratings, the series could have been cancelled last May. However, ABC decided to stick with it and scheduled it on Friday nights. Expectations on Fridays are lower but The Neighbors' ratings ended up being too low for a third season renewal.

It's been 15 years since "The Sopranos" put New Jersey style on display. And please don't be snide and ask, "What style?"
Beyond mobsters wearing tracksuits that make it only to tracks with horses, and the summer shore crowd, which has never met an animal print or bikini too outrageous, TV now gives us another highly stylized New Jersey group - aliens in golf duds.
ABC's Friday sitcom "The Neighbors" has aliens settled in a gated community in New Jersey, and their preferred attire is golf clothes.
The aliens have been on a steep learning curve.Initially, they feared Halloween and set up a barrier at the gates of Hidden Hills, hoping to keep children in costumes at bay. After the Weavers (Jami Gertz, Lenny Venito) explain the American custom of costumed children begging candy from strangers, the aliens relent. Above, Jackie takes on Effie Trinket from "The Hunger Games" in a custom-made costume.

After the Weavers (Jami Gertz, Lenny Venito) explain the American custom of costumed children begging candy from strangers, the aliens relent. Above, Jackie takes on Effie Trinket from "The Hunger Games" in a custom-made costume.

"The Neighbors" loves its totally random guest stars. Joining the elite ranks of those who drop in to visit the alien comedy is now Mark McGrath, the frontman for Sugar Ray.
According to TVLine, McGrath will play a former classmate and bandmate of Marty Weaver's (Lenny Venito). The two reunite for their high school reunion and start up rehearsals for the event. However, a big secret from their past will be revealed in the process.
Presumably, Larry Bird and the other aliens will also have many questions about reunions and rock music and so on.
After Sugar Ray scored huge pop hits in the 1990s, singer McGrath jumped over to TV. In addition to hosting gigs on "Extra," "Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious" and "Don't Forget the Lyrics," McGrath has competed on "The Apprentice" and guest-starred on "The Office," "Law & Order: Svu" and more.

Let’s just say hypothetically you were at a party and someone asked you what your favorite TV sitcom this season is. Say Brooklyn Nine Nine and you’ll get some nods. Modern Family and everyone will agree. Big Bang Theory? Can’t go wrong there. But…The Neighbors? Chances are you’ll get either blank stares or uncomfortable “Are you serious?” laughter. Here’s the thing, though: It’s funny. Like, actually funny. I’d even say funnier than at least one of those other sitcoms.
I remember talking to series creator Dan Fogelman once and he told me...

Two veteran actors who played iconic parents from classic sitcoms will join ABC’s The Neighbors this season as — what else? — a mom and a dad.
Reginald VelJohnson (aka Carl Winslow from Family Matters) and Meredith Baxter (Elyse Keaton on Family Ties) will play the parents of Jackie Joyner-Kersee (Toks Olagundoye) for the comedy’s Thanksgiving episode.
For those who have yet to tune into this quirky confectio, the comedy from Dan Fogelman (Crazy Stupid Love) is about a New Jersey family that moves into an affluent gated community that’s inhabited exclusively by extraterrestrials. It stars Jami Gertz and Lenny Venito.

While The Neighbors didn't attract a large audience in its first season, ABC decided to renew it and move the show to Friday nights. Will viewers make the move as well. Will the ratings be good enough to ensure a third season or will the series be cancelled instead? We shall see.
A family sitcom, The Neighbors follows the Weaver clan as they try to live in a beautiful gated community that's filled with alien visitors from the planet Zabvron. The ensemble castmembers are Jami Gertz, Lenny Venito, Simon Templeman, Toks Olagundoye, Tim Jo, Clara Mamet, Ian Patrick, Isabella Cramp, and Max Charles.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available --...

Despite rumors that the sitcom would be cancelled, ABC’s The Neighbors scored a second season and even an Emmy nomination.
The TV show stars Jami Gertz (TV’s Entourage) and Lenny Venito (Men in Black 3) as Debbie and Marty Weaver, who move their family into their dream house in Hidden Hills, New Jersey, a gated community complete with its own golf course.
They quickly discover, however, that their neighbors are a little weird. European? A cult? Amish? They’re not sure. Until they find out that all the members of the community are aliens from the planet Zabvron, who’ve been holed up in Hidden Hills for 10 years waiting for instructions on how to get home.
The Neighbors was panned by critics when it was first broadcast, but viewers stayed steady enough for ABC to keep it going. Then...

It sometimes takes a little more than just one season to become a hit. Just ask "Big Bang Theory," which found new life as a veteran series than it did as a new series. And ABC is hoping that someday they can say the same about its alien comedy "Neighbors." The show -- which stars Jami Gertz, Lenny Venito, Simon Templeman and Toks Olagundoye -- had a modest premiere for ABC, and slowly watched its audience erode throughout the course of the season. However, the comedy from "Crazy, Stupid, Love's" Dan Fogelman, has picked up a core audience, and there is a chance that could grow in a second season. "Neighbors" centers around a regular human family who move into a gated community in New Jersey, and are shocked to not only find neighbors with strange (and famous) names like Larry Bird ...

See those funny green things? Yeah — they’re coming back.
ABC has given a thumbs-up to another season of The Neighbors, a middling — but definitely, um, inventive — comedy about the aliens next door.
The comedy stars Jami Gertz and Lenny Venito and is from Dan Fogelman.
Averaging around a 2.0 rating in adults 18-49, The Neighbors was the quintessential bubble show this spring — which is probably why the single-camera comedy wasn’t included in Friday’s series orders. (To see what’s already been picked up for 2013-14, click here.).
ABC will reveal its full fall lineup Tuesday in New York.

Last summer, many people thought that The Neighbors sounded ridiculous and believed that it would be one of the first new shows to be cancelled. Well, shows like Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue have come and gone but The Neighbors lasted for a full season. But, will it be back for season two?

If you haven’t yet caught an episode of ABC‘s The Neighbors, tonight may be your night. It follows a family who has moved to the suburbs and discovers that all of the other inhabitants of their beautiful new little neighborhood are all from another planet. They have all taken human form and sports star names, and tend to dress completely alike. Kind of Stepford-y but in an absurdist, snarky way.
Because it’s an ABC (whose parent company is Disney) show, and because all of the aliens tend to act in over-the-top ways since they aren’t yet totally familiar with our human, and particularly American, ways, they have been given a musical episode with music by Alan Menken.
Not familiar with the name? Ever heard of Disney‘s The Little Mermaid? Beauty and the Beast? Aladdin? Pocahontas? The Hunchback of Notre Dame? Hercules? Enchanted? Tangled? All composed by Alan Menken.

As we’ve learned on ABC’s comedy The Neighbors, the Zabvronian aliens do everything a little bit differently than their new human neighbors. For example, the Zabvronians cry green tears from their ears instead of clear ones from their eyes and nourish their bodies by reading…books. And the list goes on and on.
In this week’s new episode of The Neighbors, viewers will be find out another of the Zabvronians oddities, one that’s a little bit more interesting — specifically, how they have sex. EW has an exclusive clip from tomorrow’s episode — which airs at 8:30 p.

ABC has given full-season orders to freshman comedy The Neighbors and sophomore drama Scandal. The freshman comedy starring Jami Gertz and Lenny Venito as a couple who move in to a community populated by aliens who pose as humans (complete with names after famous athletes) has been a modest performer for the network on Wednesdays. ABC picked up three additional scripts for the critically panned series in early October, marking its first moves of the fall season. The network has also added additional scripts for first-year series Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue. The fate of freshman musical drama Nashville, meanwhile, remains unclear. Photos:
