- TriviaBAFTA-winning British cameraman, former president of the British Society of Cinematographers (1973-75). Began in the business at the age of sixteen as an assistant to Freddie Young at Elstree studios. During World War II, he worked for the Army Kinematograph Service. Subsequently with Alexander Korda at Shepperton and freelance from 1956. Shared a Special Achievement Oscar in 1978.
