Catherine Campion(I)
- Actress
- Art Department
- Second Unit Director or Assistant Director
Catherine Campion is elated to be back in Minneapolis, after adventures in mackerel fishing in Ireland, cycling in Los Angeles and orchard buying in Ecuador. It's a long story; we'll tell you more later.
Some of our favorite roles Catherine has played include a foul-mouthed cancer patient on Weeds; a Minnesota Iron Range mom standing up to Charlize Theron in North Country, directed by Niki Caro; and a nerdy gamer girl in the short film Silver, written by Diablo Cody. She's been an improviser since she was 11, which has helped her build a rewarding voice over career. Highlights include TV campaigns for Subaru, United Health and H&R Block; voicing Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow for the Iron Man video game; Siri, in Ellen's iPhone, on the Ellen DeGeneres Show; and 48(!) spots for Biden's Build Back Better Plan. AAA video game coming out in 2024...
Catherine got her start on the Equity stages of Minneapolis, where she appeared in plays at The Guthrie, Theatre de la Jeune Lune, Penumbra and The Children's Theater Company. She also performed throughout the Twin Cities as a cellist, keyboardist and vocalist, and continued her music career in Los Angeles, with Saint Motel, Motion City Soundtrack, Chan Poling (of The Suburbs & New Standards) and Fort King, to name a few.
Her Irish parents gifted her with dual citizenship in the US and EU, which she has taken advantage of, living throughout Europe, as well as West Africa and South America. Because of all the stories she as amassed from around the world, Catherine is an award-winning Moth GrandSLAM Championship storyteller. Remember that orchard we mentioned? Well, if you're in the market for one, let us know, and we'll set up a showing...
In addition to acting and travel, Catherine is passionate about helping others die with compassion, celebration and dignity. She's a certified Death Midwife through Sacred Crossings, end-of-life planning consultant, LA County Home Health Aide and certified hospice caregiver through The Twilight Brigade/Veterans Affairs. She is now developing an animated series for PBS, LifeUps.
