Mr. Joseph Young

Mr. Joe Young (Also known as Mighty Joe Young, and King Joe) was an ape from Africa. He was the male ape that played the title role in the 1949 classic, Mighty Joe Young. Since the character was supposed to be a 15' tall ape, animation, claymation was used as well as close ups of the the real ape. This is the only known movie appearance of Mr. Joe Young even though the film became a big hit. Little more is known about this hairy star.
