That was a brilliant analysis !!! Have not seen before! The idea of Bertha as a dark mirror,it has not pop in my mind ever.Just I cannot agree that it was sadly to loose part of her if this part was sickening,it is not essentially that it happened just to fit in the Vic.traditions or whatever because Jane became the best of herself afterall.But this was admirabley intilligent Sir,really.
I just want also it add that you was a little tough on the 19th English society as you know sir : every society must pass through rough stages that help shape it .I am gratefull for this era as it constituted the most brilliant English literature works.Thank you sir
This is a very informative video. It helps me a lot to understand deeper the novel. I never thought about the symbolism while I was reading. But, when you point it out, I said to myself, "Yeah, it makes a lot of sense." Personally, Jane Eyre is one of the greatest classic novel ever (except for its age gap, as it makes me a little bit uncomfortable).
