Bethany Turner has been writing since the second grade, when she won her first writing award for explaining why, if she could have lunch with any person throughout history, she would choose John Stamos. She stands by this decision. Bethany now writes pop culture–infused rom-coms for a new generation of readers who crave fiction that tackles the thorny issues of life with humor and insight. She lives in Southwest Colorado with her husband, whom she met in the nineties in a chat room called Disco Inferno. As sketchy as it sounds, it worked out pretty well in this case, and they are now the proud parents of two grown sons. That really is like choosing your favorite child. Each novel is special to me in different ways for different reasons. Having said that...I’m pretty partial to Wooing Cadie McCaffrey. It was the first time I wrote from the perspectives of both the female and male leading characters. I had so much fun getting to know both Cadie and Will, and I loved sorting out their love story—as well as their faith story.(less)

The truth is...I have no connection to Durham! When I was beginning to write The Do-Over, it was all about finding the ideal town to have produced the Keaton family. Durham was absolutely perfect. A big city with a small-town feel. Most of the Keaton family loves Durham and never wants to be anywhere else...but McKenna loves New York. (Until, of course, she comes to love Durham, finally... 😉) My husband and I visited Durham for the first time in February of this year (to visit locations in the book) and I absolutely loved it! And as for NC State over UNC and Duke, well...let me put it this way: I grew up in Kentucky and attended the University of Kentucky, and have always been a HUGE college basketball fan. And I don't exactly have a lot of love for UNC or, especially, Duke. So I will support you in your NC State allegiance! 😂 Thanks for picking up The Do-Over, and for asking the question!(less)

“I have memories, but I don’t know if they are really mine or if I’ve just seen so many pictures. I think that I remember riding on his sailboat with him, and playing under his desk in the Oval Office, but those images are everywhere, so do I really remember them or just imagine how it all happened?”
Bethany Turner, Scenes From Highland Falls

“I lose keys because I never put any real effort into holding on to them, but I’ve spent most of my life trying to hold on to you, Phelps. I remember everything about you.”
Bethany Turner, Scenes From Highland Falls

“I was done. I had loved my allotment. John, Chris, and Sergei. Those three men were the only men I would ever be in love with. I don’t think that Chris or I could have imagined at that moment, however, that never falling in love with anyone besides those three didn’t mean I would never fall in love again.”
Bethany Turner, Scenes From Highland Falls
